Wife wanted a quiet bday. Spent the wknd. The hosts were so kind thoughtful and friendly. Loved the back porch. Will be coming back. Thanks Sarah and Larry!!
My husband and I stayed two nights for a weekend get-away. This place was just as advertised. It was clean, quiet, and comfortable. It was close enough to Crockett that we made a morning trip for breakfast, groceries, and site seeing. We would definitely stay here again.
This is my 3rd time staying here and I will be back again and again. It is my go-to place for peace, serenity, and recharging. The hosts are amazing and the place is extraordinary.
My husband and I stopped here between home and Alexandria, LA, on our way to visit his mother. I am so glad we stayed at this location rather than electing to stay at some random hotel. The back patio's view at sunset is breathtaking! You can tell how much thought went into the place, down to the tiniest details! We enjoyed listening to your record collection while cooking, eating, and winding down for the night! We will be returning and are sad we could only stay one night! Thank you!
**As a disabled person, having a grab bar in the shower would be a fantastic addition! Otherwise, very handicap accessible!
This cabin is perfect for a real country getaway. Woods, pond, fresh air, and starry nights were ideal for our getaway from reality. The breakfasts delivered each morning helped us start the day right and then lounging by the pool or on the screened in porch for the day helped continue the lazy, relaxing feel. The owners were very responsive to my texts questions (thanks for your patience).
the kitchen was not super stocked with pans or cooking
utensils but a quick text to owners and they brought us what we needed.
As we wanted to unplug, the WiFi issues were not a problem. But for those that are expecting 4 bars all the time, remember this is in the middle of woods so probably wont happen.
Definitely will be back!
Very nice spot to relax and rejuvenate. Itâs a little of the beaten path but a great place to get away from the rat race. Awesome hosts and very accommodating. We sure hope we can go back again sometime.
This is my third time staying here and as always it was perfect Sarah and Bruce are so amazing and helpful. I messed up breakfast order and without hesitation they helped me.
I always come here to be alone and regroup and I will be back!
We stayed in the cabin with the screened in back porch and a pond in the back yard. We watched the turtles and listened to the birds. I would definitely recommend this little piece of heaven and tranquility.

There were so many great things about this place: screened in porch overlooking the water, adorable and quaint living area, rural area, hospitality of the owner and very peaceful.
A few things to note: the cabin is not on a property of its own but a collection of cabins, the pool is a communal pool, and the water (tank) is truly available for visual enjoyment.
This is a great romantic getaway if you want to remain indoors in isolation.
We were looking for a complete change of setting and routine from our usual city living schedule. This house is roomier for two than some other places we've stayed -- two areas inside, a large living area/full kitchen, and a large and open bedroom/bath. It was exceptionally clean and well kept. Besides a very attractive and welcoming front yard, the treasure here is the very large screened-in back porch that directly overlooks a lovely irrigation pond. We had the pleasure of sitting there and watching a storm introduce itself with rain-play circles on the water's surface before turning into a beautiful drenching. Turtles and birds aplenty. The property is close to Crockett if you want breakfast (Moosehead Cafe to pay for more interesting decor, or Rosemary's Hilltop Kitchen for local flavor at better prices. Both good food.) It's not much farther in the other direction to Lufkin for a much bigger assortment of dinner-type places (try Roma Italian Bistro). Lufkin also boasts an H-E-B grocery location if you want to stock a few items to prepare yourself. We came in from the north through forest roads, and found a trail to stroll down at one point. After leaving, we went up to Palestine to catch the Texas State Railroad run (highly recommend the very comfortable Presidential car, where 78-year-old Joyce is the longtime hostice/server). Although this guest house is one of four on the property that are situated adjacent to each other, we never felt concerned about privacy.
The stay was just what we needed...beautiful and peaceful. The property is very comfortable and convenient. We saw wildlife and beautiful sunsets. Just the place to get away from it all for awhile.
This was an amazing experience, cabin was beautiful, peaceful and we enjoyed the screened in porch and the pond. We loved watching the fish and the grounds were in perfect order with beautiful flowers and butterflies. There was nothing we needed that was not provided. Plenty of towels and comfort for our 3 days there. Perfect place to relax and unwind. We had breakfast delivered to our door with no interruption and the food was delicious. On Sunday we ate the brunch which was fantastic and had that home cooked feel. We took some time to relax by the pool and just loved the atmosphere and the host were perfect and made us feel at home. We plan on returning next year to see if the fish have grown.
