My kids and I stayed here for 2-nights with friends, who also have kids. It's our first time share a cabin with friends, let alone inside a "working" ranch, so we were not sure what to expect going in. But once get in touch with the host, Ms. Patti, the whole thing started and end up to be the awesome mini-vacation we all had in a long time. Without going into too much details, I'm going to say, the place is as advertised. The kitchen is fully stocked, the close-encounters with the farm animals are awesome (even with the smell :-), the eggs & the fresh veggies were amazing (best radish per my friend), and the beef was super tender and succulent. We had best tasted steak, even with our amateur BBQ skills! The whole time the host was very attentive and patient, even though I'm sure they are not short of to-do list from their farm-work :-) but everyone loved talking to them, & we all had dinner together at the patio in the cabin the last night. Ms. Patti is the smartest and most hard-working people I am privileged to meet, and thank you for make the whole getaway such a memorable experiment. Lastly, as someone who never been to the area, I learned East Texas is beautiful with the tall trees and the meandering country road (very clean). Our group also loved the day-trip to the adjacent forest park. It has beautiful trail, & the lake seems nice enough to deserve a visit back during summer :-)
