The property itself was great however I don't think I would book again. The open ceilings are not practical for a houseful of people trying to sleep when you can hear everything in all rooms.
There were "caretakers" onsite on Saturday night drinking and playing pool in the shed which is in the driveway. They were perfectly nice when one of our male occupants went over to see what the noise was, but if I was there with just women I would have felt uncomfortable. It would have been nice to have a heads-up that for over $800 a night, you don't actually get the property to yourself
The property was great, our kids enjoyed visiting the animals in the adjoining properties. The house itself is a quaint, country property.
Some information that may be useful for others staying; The house is a bit like a converted barn. Rooms are all open to the shared ceiling area of the broader house so noise and light do travel throughout the house. There was plenty of firewood available and there are a number of heaters, but staying in winter, the house was difficult to get warm. Additionally, the owners do work out of the garage (separated from the house) - this was a bit of a surprise to us and initially caused some concerns as our kids had been playing outside under the assumption nobody else would be driving in. After speaking to the owners this was less of a concern, but would have been good to know.
Overall we enjoyed our stay but would have chosen to stay elsewhere had we known the above.
Great location, brilliant amenities, easy check in and check out. We had a fantastic break at Monkey Place. Would definitely recommend for large groups or a few families.
A lovely place to spend time with family and friends; well equipped (including the Playstation!). Wi-fi log-in was a problem which probably needs attention for the future. Would certainly recommend and the family wants to return!
Absolutely stunning home away from home. The photos didnât do it justice, it was perfect. Will be going back again for sure. Thanks to Ben for everything
We had a wonderful time and the property was even more amazing than the photos! We couldnât have asked for a better way to celebrate Moms 60th birthday.
