Really a great house in Collioure
Super location on a quiet street just 3 min walk to one of the beaches in Collioure.
The house are really well equipped with everything and a beautiful hacienda garden and view over Collioure
Our adult family of five stayed In Thibaudâs house for a few days. It is a lovely, very well equipped house and I had excellent communication with Thibaud. The location is ideal for walking, the sea, the restaurants and shops.
We had a great time and would love to return.
Perfect for we two. House very private thoâ only 3 or 4 minutes walk to beach and bustle of town. We felt we were staying in the country! Great garden and veranda and we loved the courtyard. House a lovely mix of old and new. Great parking space outside which is essential for Collioure! Great instructions for getting there and house very secure. Helped make a wonderful break
We very much enjoyed our 7week stay here. The house is spacious and quirky with lots of outdoor space too, if you can cope with the mosquitos. It is well equipped with everything you need for your holiday. The walk to the beach and town is fine but us being pensioners in our late 70's found the uphill return challenging. Maybe the exercise will have done us good though.
We also found the mattress on the main bed quite hard and think a topper would improve this greatly. We were very comfortable and happy with the house and facilities.
Thibaud's places is truly special. There's a ton of outdoor space you can relax in, and much of it has incredible views of the town and water below. You can walk out of the house and immediately be walking on beautiful winding trails up into the hills, or head down towards town and be at the water's edge in about 4 minutes.
Check in was simple and Thibaud was responsive and helpful.
The place has its quirks and imperfections, but all were within what we considered to be charming. Guests looking for a super refined finish with every little extra thought of and in place should balance that against the incredible location and views this place provides.
If you're traveling with a couple of children they can have their own space with separate entry and bathroom and sitting area which is really nice for separation. Their sleeping area is just a small loft but fine for youngsters.
We had a fantastic time and would stay here again If the opportunity arose.
We were 3 adults on holiday, husband, wife, and adult daughter. We enjoyed staying in the house. It had many very good features but a number of drawbacks. The kitchen was excellent. It appeared to have been updated recently and the equipment - cooker - fridge- dishwasher etc were excellent. There was a large quantity of nice plates etc. and enough glasses to hold a party! It seems petty to mention that there were only 3 coffee mugs - but we had to keep washing them!
The major problem we had was with the lay-out of the property, and the fact that the "end room" (a studio with mezzanine bed) was unusable because we were there during the June heatwave. That area had no airconditioning - and the bed on the 'shelf' was a couple of metres from the exposed roof tiles and was baking hot. We closed the door into that area as it was unusable. The airconditioning in the other two rooms worked very well. We found that the sofa in the sitting area was a fold-up bed and that was where our adult daughter slept. It meant that we had no sitting area in the living room/kitchen and she had to access the bathroom through our bedroom.
Overall the property was very clean and attractively decorated. The garden/courtyard area is lovely with shelter from trees and umbrella, but during the heatwave it was too hot to eat there. We had very good contact and information from the owner prior to our departure. We had no contact at all with the "managing/cleaning company" - the key was left for us and they were not in touch. The washbasin in the bathroom was slow to clear when we arrived and gradually became almost blocked. We were helped by the neighbour who contacted the owner's father and the problem was quickly dealt with. Collioure is beautiful and the location of the house is great - although up a steep hill which we knew about - and there are great views across the countryside. It is within easy walking distance to the town and beach and we swam every day. Our difficulties about the house were compounded by the heatwave which was unfortunate in mid June. Overall a lovely property in a good location, - would be perfect for a couple.
I am an hotelier travelling the world but deep rooted in the "Pays Catalan" i go back to my home town Collioure every year twice to continue to discover hidden secret of this unbelievably beautiful village
we rented a month and felt literally in love with this house, built by a famous Irish writer, where he wrote most of his best sellers, the house is simply a relaxing oasis of calm in the middle of an incredible garden, probably the largest land in the city
