The house is very unique! Very pretty hacienda but I think it does need some updates. The swamp cooler was the down side of the whole house. Itâs one unit to make the whole house cold but it doesnât. It doesnât get cold and itâs super noisy. Maybe update the house to an actual ac unit.
I am a native of San Diego, CA that has been traveling up to the Kern Valley my whole life. I enjoy all aspects of California, from the beach and sand to the rocky mountains of both Central and Northern California.
Stoney Pines, and this Hacienda, has been in our family for over 40 years. This Hacienda style home was designed by my grandmother and was built in the late 1980s. She designed the house after the Haciendas she experienced when visiting her parents in Mexico as a young woman.
One very unique aspect of this property are the pine trees. The previous owner was a pine tree enthusiast and planted many different types of pine trees all over this property. As the years have passed we have tried to continue the tradition by adding new pine trees in new areas and also where old trees have died. Another unique point of interest is our local Joshua Tree. Just outside the Green Cabin's back door you will find an endangered Joshua Tree. These trees only grow in the Mojave Desert, which is very close to the property, and somehow we were lucky enough to have one on our property.
