This home is just an amazing place to stay. The location is a secret hideaway, with the best sand beach, sunsets and easy access to everything. The home is large; the beds are so comfortable. The home has everything you need to just show up with groceries and have a wonderful vacation. This home has to be one of the best on Lake Superior for Sunsets and relaxation. Mark is easy to communicate with and replies very fast. Don't hesitate to book your stay, you won't regret it!
From the moment you exit your vehicle at The Sunset House you hear the waves of Lake Superior and immediately head around the house to see the unbelievable view. There is Superiorâs shore barely 100â away.
The house is great. Itâs what you envision a classic Keweenaw lake shore beach house to be. The patio is spacious and the old Adirondack chairs make for a superb morning coffee perch to read a bit and listen to the lake.
The fire pit was stocked with some incredibly dry wood that produced roaring campfires each night about 20â feet from the water. Perfection.
The Sunset House is quiet and peaceful both day and night. The Fitz is two minutes away in Eagle River for a night out. Youâll love it. We did.

We stayed for a week in mid-July, and were very pleased with this property. I cannot say enough about how amazing the pristine Great Sand Bay beach is! Swam almost everyday and made a little fire with sâmores. Sunsets were beautiful!
The house had everything we needed, and the decor was really cute.
The Eagle River location is great whether you head back south to Houghton/Hancock, or want to spend some time up in Copper Harbor.
I can also see this being a perfect rental for a snowmobiling trip with the game room downstairs for entertainment on a winter night after adventuring in the snow.
While doing Outdoor-Writer events in the arean 1995 I really liked the area for more than just the fishing, the solitude no hustle and bustle. During one of the sponsored dinners after a day of media events we ate at Fitzgerald's Restaurant in Eagle River right on the beach. A few years later a Friend I had met who sponsored the rooming and some food told me about a house that popped up on the market. So I went and looked and the rest is history. I became the proud owner of the Sunset House. I started taking my friends there and they wanted to know if I would rent it out to them and their families and word of mouth spread the Sunset House name.
I am use to giant sand dunes here on the west side of Lake MI so when I seen walkable sand dunes and miles of open sand beach and very few people that was it, along with seeing the Northern lights on my first night in my new home.
