Lovely hosts. We loved getting outside and enjoying the dam and bushland. Comfy cottage, with everything we needed especially the cosy fireplace. Kids and puppy ran and played the whole time.
A cozy cottage to spend the winter weekend, thanks for the fire place gave us a warm welcome.Morning walk with my dog at the dam and green area nearby.Convenient drive to winery & restaurant for lunch & dinner in nearby town. Will be back :))
The place is run down and a bit grubby. The wood heater needs attention beside it causes a dwelling fire, because it doesnât shut down. My wife (5â3â tall) couldnât reach the light switches. Very poor water pressure. And itâs so close to the pagers house. Andâs contrary to the list of amenities, there is no TV. Wifi is only hot spot from your phone. Wayyyy overpriced.
Loved the rustic feel, location and fire place. We just felt it could do with a little fan heater or something for the bedroom as it was very cold and hard to get the fire place heat down there.Everything else was great.
A beautiful weekend getaway, a breath of fresh air. Lovely hosts, very nice. Beautiful dogs that stay on the property. Would love to come back again. The cottage its self is so cosy and the hosts had the fire on ready for our late night arrival, very thoughtful. Would definitely recommend.
The dogs were thrilled, and we were nice and comfortable. A fire for us and the pond and friendly sheep and friendly owner's dogs for the dogs. My water dogs adored jumping in the pond and having a good swim several times a day. For my youngest dog (1.5yr) the sheep were a very good learning experience. They are in a paddock so safe from an enthusiastic young dog but are used to dogs so don't spook. Thus, I could train my youngest to sit quietly and look. I'm sooooooo happy. My older boy dog (3yr) is used to more animals and went nose to nose with the friendliest sheep and on the last morning those two went nose to nose again thru the fence and that sheep's tail was just wagging so fast. Lovely experience.
My dog and I had a lovely stay here. Itâs near the main house but felt private and as a solo traveller, it was comforting to know people were nearby. The fireplace is so cosy and the cabin is really clean and tidy. Great area for the dog to run around too!
This is a charming spot, which my dog and I thoroughly enjoyed! Lovely cottage with a simple layout, lake outside the door; perfect for an evening stroll!
Basic but charming and comfortable cottage - Great location.
Basic but charming and comfortable cottage - Great location. Wonderful, helpful hosts. A beautiful setting overlooking a lake. Will look forward to staying there again. Excellent.
Our stay was lovely, piece & quiete in abundance.
Our two dogs loved the space, the dam and even our hosts dogs.
Very clean and adequate for a wkend away.
The hosts were friendly and helpful too.
Conveniently located to Ballarat, but with a beautiful country setting. The cottage is very cosy, especially with the fire going. Easy check in process, the hosts are friendly and privacy is respected. Great stay. Thanks
My family and I stayed at the property, Darcy was super helpful and the fire was already on and we were welcomed to a warm cabin. My family and I loved our stay and will be back
Great location, adorable little cabin with everything you could need for a short getaway. Close to Ballarat and activities in town but the highlight was honestly staying in by the wood fire heater.
Everything in keeping with a mud brick cottage. We were able to bring our two small groodles, enclosed yard looking onto very large dam with walking track. On arrival it wasnât long before we had a roaring wood fire, We stayed on first 3 days of winter with sunshine. Furniture was very comfortable including bed, perfect getaway. However we should have stayed at least 2 more days.
Born and bred in ChCh New Zealand. Moved to Australia in 1997. Met my wife soon after and the rest is history. We lived In the suburbs of Melbourne for 16 years before moving to Yendon. We have always been lovers of bush camping and think it is a great way to bring up a family so much that we decided to move to the country and have never looked back.
There is so much to do out here if you like to be active. There are great tracks for trail bike riding and MT biking and walking. Small towns that have markets and there own small town charm. It has all the good noise, chainsaws, motorbikes ,tractors ,birds and wild life and sometimes almost no noise at all. We have two beautiful dams and some fantastic night sky's. And if you want a little bit of the city Ballarat is only 16 minutes away.
