Very nice house! I enjoyed working with Sheron, she was the best host EVER!! very caring & kind.We loved the farm and the animals, even had a roadrunner visit a couple times. very nice & relaxing.

Beautiful, Comfortable and Relaxing Historical Home

This property is comfortable and in a beautiful setting. It is quite conducive to a family gathering while also offering a quiet, relaxing retreat atmosphere. If given the opportunity, we would stay here again.

I enjoyed showing your family the baby goats. I would love if you post a photo on Facebook at Scurlock Farms Vacation Rentals! Scurlock Farms is really ideally located for those wanting to get into Austin or attend events, as you did a wedding. Hope your baby had and easy trip back to Arizona. We enjoyed the bar-b-q you left in the refrigerator. Did you get it at one of the food trailers on Raney Street in Austin? It was really good! There is so much to do in the area, and often, not enough time to get it all in. You'll have to come back when Carter is a little older!

unique property, lovely hospitality

A working farm with a spring creek and a short hike to a lovely river. The owner, Sheron, was a delightful hostess giving us tours of the (extensive!) property, bringing us fresh-from-her-oven muffins, etc.

It was fun meeting your family and giving you a tour of the farm. I was really glad we all got to see our fainting goat, Strawberry, "faint" right in front of us! Tell your two girls we had 3 sets of twins born this morning, and a single baby born 4 days ago. I know you had fun fishing with your guide and one of the girls was the winner with 28 fish caught in the San Gabriel River - way to go! We would love to host your family again and maybe next time you could tube the San Gabriel along Scurlock Farms. The water is perfect now. A multi-generational family spent the week last week in all three homes on the farm, and said this was the best tubing they had ever done (they have tubed many rivers in Texas)!

Wonderfully comfortable

Great place. The house is fabulous. The orchard and river are beautiful. The hospitality can't be beat. I would highly recommend staying here if you're planning a trip to Georgetown.

We enjoyed having you as you extended your girl's get-together weekend! Come again when you have more time. The farm is a great place to relax and unwind after shopping and sight-seeing, or a destination place to hike about, relax on the patios, and cook out and enjoy the fire pit.

The farmhouse was a perfect get away! The esthetic of the home was cozy and inviting. You could feel the live in the home and after speaking with Sheron and knowing the story behind the home it made complete silence. Waking up to rolling hills and cows grazing in the pasture next to the house was a welcomed sight. Enjoying the homemade muffins and a cup of coffee on the back porch in the morning was peaceful and serene. My only regret was that we didnt get to stay longer. We will certainly keep this rental in mind for future trips to Georgetown. Close enough to town to hop on over for breakfast but far enough out to feel secluded. Best of both worlds. Thanks Sheron for being such a great host!

Family Reunion in the Hill Country

Rocky Overlook provided a wonderful setting for our family reunion in the Hill Country. The house was beautifully decorated and the beds were very comfortable. Sheron was a pleasure to work with to arrange our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. I would highly recommend this property.

Loved Scurlock Farms

We had a wonderful week at Scurlock Farms. Sheron is the greatest hostess, from the tour, to the muffins, and the great accommodations, it exceeded all of our expectations. We loved the daily hikes down to the river and the bird-watching. Highly recommend staying here.

Our kids loved "the farmhouse" so much we visited for a second time after a year. We played in the river, and Ms Sharon even provided us some tubes! On top of that, she dropped off some delicious muffins as well. It's the perfect family Farmcation!

peaceful retreat with beautiful view

My family (six of us) enjoyed our stay at Rocky Overlook. It is a beautiful home with an interesting story, just the kind of place my family loves to find. It is not far from the busy I 35 corridor, so it is easy to access Georgetown, Round Rock and Austin, yet it is in a peaceful location away from the crowd. It is spacious and clean, and the owners are so hospitable. We would definitely stay here again!

Great Family Gathering Place

We had a great family gathering ranging in age from 88 to 1 years! It worked well for all ages, plenty of room and lots of opportunities for activities. Property owners provided gracious welcome and hospitality. The history and beautiful artwork added to the overall beautiful setting. We look forward to returning!

so quiet and peaceful!

Very serene location-just a quick 10 minute drive to Southwestern University. Love the history of the home! The owner made us delicious homemade muffins with their fresh eggs upon our arrival- my son said they were the best he'd ever had! Nice and clean and comfortable. I highly recommend for a relaxing getaway!

Great place to stay and play.

My family and I stayed at the overlook property for 4nights. It was a great place. The layout of the house is unique and the one shower took some planning to ensure we all showers, but over all the stay was great. Sharon’s tour and muffins made us feel very welcome. The “free reign” of the property was the highlight for us. We went to the river and spent the day.

This place was perfect!

My expectations were exceeded. The delivery of freshly made muffins, a hayride, feeding goats and chickens. Being able to pick vine-ripened tomatoes and having a fully stocked kitchen. Topping it off with breathtaking sunsets. There were so many unexpended pleasantries, we can’t wait to go back.

True country living

The property was exactly what we needed for our trip. Secluded and relaxing. Sharon couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating, thank you. The only thing I would have liked would have been working lights on the back patio

I am glad Rocky Overlook provided the relaxing atmosphere you needed for your trip. Oh, I wish you had called me - the light switch for the back patio lights is by the smaller sliding door going out to the patio. Once turned on, they are motion activated. If you return to Georgetown again, we would love to have you stay with us again!

thanksgiving

Was a terrific place to have thanksgiving. IN the country and very peaceful. House was large and perfect for a few days of R&R. Husband caught 50 fish in the river, a short walk from house. The guest bed needs replacing--- but that's it!!! Will stay again!
