We didn't get off to a good start because we were sent the directions - poor ones at that to another property. When re arrived at the first 'Villa Mar' we met another family who couldn't get into this property because there was no key in the keysafe.
Eventually having been sent alternate GPS coordinates - we arrived in front of an electric gate with no signs of having arrived at the correct property. Fortunately someone let us in and told us the keysafe combination. We had been very delayed driving around the countryside and only just made it to the supermarket to get some food.
The photos of the inside of the property have been taken with a very wide angled lens. It was compact for 5 of us in the party, not sure about 8.
The annexe was musty, the shower enclosure was very mouldy. and the wooden bench was rotten.
The outside furniture is not as advertised. The webbing of the faded furniture that we had, had been broken on one of the chairs so only 3 people could sit outside. The barbeque was broken and many of the screws holding the decking down were sticking up - only one foot injury in 2 weeks. The shower inside the main property dripped onto a metal bath all night. There was no means of isolating this and so we were advised to put a damp towel in the bath to muffle the sound. It was either this or lose use of the bathroom altogether as the maintenance chap said that he would have to take all the tiles off the wall to replace the valves.
The property is rural, cockerels wake you early which is ok but to see the sheep fettered. This is tying the sheep's front and back legs together to limit their movement with rope or if 'kind' chains - apparently illegal, but common practice on Mallorca so I read. Twice a sheep became tangled in the rubbish stored next to the property. The first time her feet were wound around a long branch and she had been trapped on her side for hours. When we freed her she could hardly stand and her face was very bruised and swollen. There was no owner to tell. She would have died if we had not got to her. The second time was in the middle of the night. The next day I saw one sheep with both pairs of legs fettered.
The pool was the saving grace. The furniture outside needs replacing and the decking needs to be made safe. We wont be recommending the property or Dickinson Villas.
