Adorable River retreat with a perfect location!
Mermaid Landing definitely gives summer-river-camp-not-a-care-in-the-world vibes and has a GREAT location in proximity to the Weeki Wachee River. My teens and younger kids stayed there recently for 2 nights. The property has kayaks and a pedal boat and a great covered dock you can sit and watch the kids and manatees from. We paddled up the weeki from there a bunch of times during our short stay. This canal lets right out into the super clear part of the river (maybe a 60 yard paddle at the most!).Inside the property is so so cute - mermaid decorations everywhere - and super clean. There is a surprising amount of space in the kitchen and dining area. My kids said the pullout sofa bed was comfy. And the bathroom was clean and well stocked. Yes - you do share the property with the guests upstairs. It truly wasnât a problem for us (one time there wasnât enough kayak paddles and sharing the laundry was a little difficult, but no complaints). Our housemates were friendly and quiet. Checkin process was easy (read those directions as there are two doors with codes). The kitchen is well stocked and with enough space to make a meal and eat it. Thereâs a screened back patio with a table and chairs that was great for lunch. And again, that backyard! Swoooooon. I got up every morning and had my coffee on the pretty Adirondack chairs on the covered dock. So quiet and peaceful. It was amazing!Just got home and already ready to go back.
