We are pleased you appreciated Juliot's location, furnishings and quality fittings but we are very sorry that the cleanliness of the bedroom fell short of the standard you should expect. All bedding and towels at the cottage are professionally laundered after every stay. Our cleaners would normally identify any item that remains marked or stained and remove and replace it before the next guests arrive. The pillow protector you describe should not have been left on the bed and we understand why this caused you to question the cleanliness of the bedding. The dust on the headboard and fan should have also been picked up during the pre-arrival clean. Our housekeeper's contact details are available in the welcome pack and on the kitchen display stand. Contacting them during your stay would have allowed us to arrange replacement bedding and have the areas needing further cleaning attended to promptly. We would very much have welcomed the opportunity to put things right for you although we recognise that you should not have needed to raise these concerns in the first place. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we will raise your feedback with our housekeeping team and reinforce the importance of thorough checks before each arrival. Please accept our apologies for the disappointment caused during your stay.

We do our best to ensure our guests have everything they need to have a comfortable stay. Unfortunately we are unable to allow an earlier check in and later check out due to the amount of time required to turn the cottage around between bookings and ensure the cleanliness is kept to a high standard although we do, as you said, let guests know if the cottage is ready any earlier. Car parking in St Ives is a real issue but having the secure car park for our guests does take away the worry about finding a parking space, even though it is out of the town centre.
