Had a wonderful week in this lovely cottage , amazingly situated location, fantastic views overlooking the sea.Cottage was very comfy, well equipped and spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated retaining all its charm. Was great to have access to a lower small patio area where you could sit n practically touch the sea. Just a short walk to Mevagissy which we did every day at some point.Definately recommend, and would re visit in a heartbeat.

I could not fault the cottage / location, my only recommendation going forward would be to provide a slip mat for the bath.

Overall the stay was very enjoyable. The cottage was exactly what we expected. It was clean, well equipped, and charmingly decorated. It's position on the water's edge allowed for some spectacular views.
There are plenty of places to eat in nearby Mevagissey, which is only a 10 minute walk away. Most of them were open. Due to lockdown regulations, the Rising Sun in Portmellon was only serving drinks outside, and the Snack Shack was selling hot drinks and some essentials like milk and eggs.
The only (small) convenience store we could find was the Mevagissey News (in Mevagissey itself). There are, however, many larger supermarkets in St. Austell, which is not too far away if required.
We would recommend not driving through Mevagissey, as the risk of a traffic jam on Polkirt Hill is just not worth it. We always drove the long way through Gorran Churchtown and then to Pentewan. By the way, the Lost Gardens at Heligan are worth a visit, even if it is just for the tea room.
The Wet Fish in Mevagissey Harbour sells fresh food daily. We tried the mussels (almost 2kg), and they were absolutely beautiful and tasty. Definitely worth a visit.
For those who enjoy a round of golf, must try Carlyon Bay Golf Club. The views, and facilities are exceptional. If you tee off after 15:00, green fees are only ÂŁ25.00, instead of the normal ÂŁ55.00. Porthpean Golf Club, although not quite the same standard of golf course as Carlyon Bay, has equally spectacular views, and the staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. I would definitely recommend a round at Porthpean.

We had a great stay at Puffin Burrow...the location just above the water is absolutely stunning and very relaxing. The cottage had everything we needed, the bedroom is a good size with wonderful sea views. Fairly easy to park and unload, we left the car just down near the beach, less than 5 minutes walk. We arrived at night so the cottage was a bit hard to find, we couldn't see anything from the road that indicated where it was, eventually found the small gate and access, probably would have been much easier by daylight. The mattresses were pretty thin / didn't give much support, these could do with replacing.

Had a great time staying at Puffin Burrow, lots on nice dog walks around and they can go on the beach at Portmellon in October. The views are really nice across the harbour.
We love coming here. The views are absolutely stunning. But the cleaners don't do a very good job. There were cobwebs everywhere and the windows were filthy. With views like that you really need clean windows
Absolutely beautiful little cottage in an amazing location.
Absolutely beautiful little cottage in an amazing location. Cottage was clean and tidy with everything we needed. Beautiful little bay with clear waters and sand.
Had great days and evenings out in Mevagissey which is about 20 minutes walk.
Rising sun pub just down the road. Good location for exploring the local area's and the South of Cornwall, major town is St Austell which is only about a 20 minute drive away.
Will definitely be back.
Super cottage lying on bed listening to the waves crash on the sea wall is wonderful.
Super cottage lying on bed listening to the waves crash on the sea wall is wonderful. If you want peace and tranquility this is the place. Only one pub and no shop so be prepared to drive
A cozy and comfortable cottage in a spectacular setting.

Perfect little hideaway for a couple. Had everything we needed. Pottmellon has a great little pub, but nothing else. Mevagissey is 20 min walk, and has everything else you would need. Highly recommended.

We nearly didn't attempt the 4hr journey down to Cornwall because of the heavy snowfall, but soooo glad we did. Puffin Burrow was in the most beautiful location. Watching the sun rise and set whilst lying in bed was quite an experience!. The cottage was very comfortable and cozy and everything that we hoped it would be. Let us know if it comes on the Market!
