It was an absolutely splendid experience. We rented a boat to use from Click&Boat website. I highly recommend doing that as well. Driving a car in Como is not as pleasurable as driving a boat! Thank you again Sergio for memories of a lifetime.
The biggest challenge is finding it! But once you do, this turned into a memory of a lifetime. The host provided clear instructions (we drove, but it might be easier to take the lake water taxi to Blevio), and met us upon our arrival for an intro and to make sure we were settled. Very hard to describe, but it is an old dock converted into a studio room, with plexiglass on 3 sides. A round bed, small deck for outside dining, and even a secret trip door with access to the water and a place to park a boat if desired. Make no mistake, you are literally ON the water, with a spectacular view and unique experience. Our only complaint would be a desire for a softer pillow, but we adapted by rolling-up a provided blanket. I give this place a 5-star review!
Lovely view, but the following should be addressed: a) directions for the address are critical; we spent over 45 minutes looking, and even the local people didn't know where this was. Finally we asked a local to call the phone number and speak in Italian b) there is a smart TV, but there is no evidence there has been internet; while the TV is not so important, if there will be no internet -- this needs to be made clear, so individuals can decide if they need this or not; c) there should be sheets for the round bed -- while there is quilt to spread onto the bed, sheets would have been more comfortable and protective from mosquito bites; d) need matches/lighter to light all the candles (there are only two lights, none at bedside, -- but there are candles). This place, while truly beautiful, is the equivalent of a hotel room, not a studio -- which would have been a more accurate description. It is a ways out of town, but the walkable restaurant, when open, is wonderful.
The dock âla darsenaâ was perfect for experiencing Como at a more self paced timing. Blevio was beautiful and offered authenticity with a local grocery store and bar/caffĂš with a stunning park with local art to view and the most elegant restaurant with THE BEST FOOD at the Momi.â The people were was so kind and gracious to my lack of fluency in Italian although I tried.
Itâs location required taking either a bus or ferry to the Como center (the bus was much quicker) You can purchase bus tickets at the grocery store la dispensa cash only or ferry tickets online/upon arrival. As far as activities lake Como artists offered boat rentals and there was nearby wakeboarding/water sports.
The hosts Sergio and Michele were very kind, respectful and responsive. I had forgotten my keys a few times and they were able to help me. The driver Adrian was very kind and helpful and got me some espresso before I checked in to la darsena although lacked some boundaries and made me a bit uncomfortable taking pictures of/with me. I didnât appreciate him just coming in without knocking when picking me up to bring me to the airport either. My overall experience was amazing and I will be recommending this as well as coming back in the future. Thank you so much!
There are few, if any, properties like this on Lake Como! Beyond the boat house being impeccably kept up and the hosts being top notch, this location is just magical. Steps from Momi, the best restaurant in the area, just out the door is motor boat rental and water sports. This is the place to stay for a once in a life time Lake Como experience. We also stayed at Mandarin Oriental on this trip and as lovely as it was, Iâll take the darsena (boat house) over that resort any day!
We loved this gem with a historic past! An old boat house that has been extensively remodeled. We wanted an experience far from the hustle and bustle of a hotel. The windows that open fully are just stunning! Makes it hard to leave. We loved listening to the water in a evening to fall asleep. I was worried about the round bed being comfortable, but we slept great!. Much attention payed to detail and great use of the space. Michele was so helpful to connect us with his trusted gracious driver, Adrian who made our trip stress free and fun! It is walking distance to a beautiful delicious restaurant named Momi. Thereâs also a ferry dock near, but itâs arrival schedule is more limited than the bigger fairy landings. If you want to use a water taxi, you must book in advance before you arrive. They are hard to come by in the heat of July.
If you are looking for serenity and a very special unique place, this is it. Thank you to Sergio & Michele
Loved the idyllic location of this beautiful lakeside property.
The facilities were pretty simple, but completely adequate for the period of time we spent there. One of the highlights was the discovery of steps hidden beneath a trap door in the floor that led into the beautiful clear waters of Lake Como. It was fabulous to swim at the end of a warm, busy day exploring all the incredible and diverse towns dotted around the Lake.
The longer we were there, the less we were inclined to leave, this place is kind of magical. So if youâre looking for peace and simplicity, whilst delighting in the splendid scenery, this is your perfect choice.
My only slight criticism was itâs lack of WiFi, which in a way is kind of liberating, if it were not for all the silly documentation necessary for todays current travel restrictions. However, let us hope that will not always be the case. I personally can not wait to return there.
My husband and I had such a wonderful time staying here! We arrived and were greeted by the property manager who was very kind and showed us everything we needed. Sergio also checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. He also left a bottle of champagne for us which was very nice!
The property was absolutely amazing and the views were incredible. I would highly recommend staying here, it was so cozy and relaxing, we will definitely be back!!
