Walking distance to main Chaido shopping, waterfront and Bario Alto. Spacious, clean apartment. All smooth just leave extra time to make sure you understand how to get keys from separate location before checking in.
This apartment is centrally located and was (unbeknownst to us) less than a 10 minute walk to every dinner reservation weâd made prior to arrival. Itâs very clean & spacious - would definitely recommend.
We had a wonderful time, and the apartment was as represented. Our only challenge, which was not within the control of the property manager, was that whoever rented the apartment above us the night after we arrived allowed their young children to run around the apartment early in the morning and later in the evening, which sounded quite loud. Otherwise we lived the apartment and the neighborhood.
50th birthday celebration in Lisbon for 5 gals. The communication between the VRBO and us was amazing. They answered all my questions on a timely matter, even while staying there. Check-in and checking out was slick. Gave us lots of information about the area and things to do and see before taking the trip. Very helpful! The location of the apartment is in the busy part of Bairro Alto (nightlife area) which we thought we would like but it wasn't for us 50 year old. We still managed to have the best time, but would pick a different area next time with a little bit more class. The apartment was in walking distance to a lot of attractions including shops, restaurants, beautiful churches, and Time out Market. The apartment was very large with lots of room. The floors are old so some squeaking while you were walking and some of the doors needed to be lubed with oil to avoid the noise. Would recommend to others.
What a property. Simply stunning, fantastic location. Absolutely everything you could need was supplied. Fantastic communication in regard to booking through to suggestions of things to do and places to eat. Apartment was so spacious and for a family of 5. Highly recommend!!!!
and places
We enjoyed our stay here with a family of teens. Very clean, great location and good communication. Beds and pillows comfy! Master shower has common European 1/2 wall shower and related challenges keeping water only in the shower but was great to have a master bath so no real complaints, just an fyi. It would be great for there to be some extra towels provided but otherwise perfect.
Two couples shared this apartment for a week. Plenty of room. Clean and modern. Convient to walk everywhere and close to public transportation. On a busy street but at night if you close windows and shutters, minimum noise.
Overall the apartment itself was exactly as advertised. Itâs in an AMAZING location near bars and great restaurants. The place itself is spacious and great for large groups.
The only issue we had was that the place was not cleaned when we arrived, and then there was an instance where the cleaners showed up unannounced during our stay. I think if the property management company can resolve these issues with the company they use to clean the place, it would be perfect!
Very clean, very good location and spacious for our family of 4. Easy to pick up the and return the key. Prompt communication from property management, which for me was important. Nighttime is active with people walking on the street but with the windows closed there was no noise inside the apartment. Shower in main bath a little hard to use with the wand I would just caution that you need to block the corner with a towel so the floor does not get soaked. Easy to use the washing machine. It is on a steep hill and was two flights walk up to the first floor but we did not find that an issue. Easy to walk to all the great neighborhoods. I'd recommend this property and would stay again. Good location and value.
The lay out of this apartment was perfect for myself and 3 teenage girls. Location of apartment was excellent to all we wanted to do, be ready for climbing the hills but you can't really avoid that in Lisbon. The Management company for this property were very quick to respond to emails for the most part. Except no one addressed the problem of the stove not working the 3rd day we were there so we basically couldn't cook anything warm which is one of the main reasons you get an apartment versus a hotel.
A few challenges. We were there for 8 nights and only got 1 set of towels. Would have been fine if we had a dryer but because we didn't washing them and having a dry towel was a challenge. Also both the showers leaked (one didn't have a proper seal along the tub and the other the shower head leaked over the shower door) so we constantly had to have extra towels on the floor so we didn't slip. There was barely enough toilet paper given to last us 24hrs along w 1 kitchen towel less than 1 roll of paper towels and no dish soap. The first night we blew a fuse and lost power because we used oven and washing machine at the same time. All good we learned that lesson fast.
After speaking with the management company they explained Lisbon really didn't expect the tourist surge to pick up so fast so a lot of these issues had some to do w that. Overall a few hic ups that made it challenging at times but we love Lisbon and will definitely be back
Enjoyed our six night stay here in early August. Our flight from the US was delayed significantly due to weather and the management company was accommodating and proactive in following our arrival information when we were en route and still having someone meet us (nearly four hours later than originally anticipated). It was very much appreciated when we arrived exhausted. The woman who checked us in was unfamiliar with the property but tried her best to orient us. We found the microwave impossible to figure out and she found it hard too. She spent about 10 minutes reading the instruction manual (versions available in Portuguese and English) and trying to teach us, but none of us ever really got it. That wasn't a problem for us though as we never prepared hot meals in the apartment. Also, one of the living room windows was broken and could not be opened and also prevented us from running the AC in that room since it would have gone straight out the window. The management company had that fixed very quickly which was really nice.
Things to be aware of (none are problems, just nice-to-knows, especially for American guests) -
1 - There are two full bathrooms - one on a hall and one within the primary suite. We wound up just showering in the hall bath as the primary suite shower only has a handheld nozzle and a glass partition on one half of one side of the tub. It was very difficult (I tried once) to shower there without soaking the bathroom floor (which was slippery when wet). And with only one bath towel per person, we didn't have extras to wipe down the floor post shower.
2 - There's a washer but you must hang your clothes to dry. Typical for Lisbon, but took some thinking to figure out where to do it because the management company asks that clothes not be hung outside and we didn't want to hang them on anything upholstered.
3 - There's a safe in the primary suite closet, but it's not for guest use.
4 - There are 48 stairs from the entrance to the apartment door.
5 - Provisioning upon arrival included two small rolls of TP in each bathroom. We found laundry detergent and dishwasher tabs, presumably from previous guests, under the kitchen sink.
Overall, a nice place to stay with easy access to public transportation and everything we wanted to experience in Lisbon!
We stayed here for 4 days with 4 children, 4,12,15,16 and the location was perfect. Short walking distance to the waterfront, Berria Alta, and all the bakeries, and restaurants you will ever need. We would need months to eat at all of them. There are tons of shops and really easy base to get around the whole city. It was about a 25 minute walk to Principal Real, so everything is close. The apartment was clean, cozy and comfortable.
This is considered 1st floor, but it's two flights up. This goes for most buildings here and there isn't elevators. Keep that in mind when booking. This was perfect, but if we were on the 3rd Floor, it would be challenging carrying luggage up all those floors.
The hosts communicated with us very well and helps us check-in sooner.
Enjoy your future stay.
To get 5 stars I would encourage owners to provide a basic food starter pack. We arrived late and most shops were closed. I would also encourage owners to provide standard toiletries, hand soap and cleaning apparatus.
