Massive Disappointment by the View
We stayed in Downderry for 1 week. The location is fantastic and is a 5 min walk down quite a steep hill to the beach (not the 2 mins as advertised on the listing), but is still in a great location.
The biggest disappointment we found is that the listing is not accurate. We thought we would have uninterrupted sea vies from the balcony, we were met with a mass of trees. The property owner has to take responsibility for making sure the listing is accurate and true. The cleaning also needs to be improved as we had to clean mould from the inside of the freezer and properly clean the kitchen table, which had dirt on it.
The property is very small and is a bit more tired that the photos suggest, but there is just too much clutter in the property. In a small space you really want it clutter free and that includes all the surface spaces as well as the cooking and eating utensils.
All in all we had a lovely week, but with a few tweaks you can make this property even better.
Very comfortable and pleasant unit to stay in. Everything we needed was there. Very clean everywhere, bed comfortable, kitchen well equipped. It's a 5 min walk down hill to the beach, quite a steep walk back up but that was fine. We loved the area and our stay here was peaceful and relaxing.
The apartment was very comfortable and extremely well equipped. The size of the apartment was excellent for us (2 adults) but would be a bit cramped for 4 adults (the kitchen was quite small). The location was excellent, allowing us to visit many places without driving too far. Also the beach was only a short walk away. If you looked carefully from the decking, you could see the Eddystone Lighthouse on the horizon!
