à propos de cet hébergement
Cosy Converted Barn Cottage in Peaceful Rural Wooded Setting, Close to the Coast
Apple Tree Cottage is located in a wooded rural area, just off the A374, with private gardens, grounds and ample parking. The cottages are part of a converted 19th Century stone barn, and are newly refurbished to a high standard and come fully equipped with modern electric heating, large screen LED TV with DVD and Wifi.
From the gardens, the cottages are entered via an entrance hallway, providing space for coats, shoes, boots and bags. This leads into the cosy open plan living, kitchen and dining area, with beamed ceilings, stone wall, tiled floor and woodland views. The kitchens are newly fitted and fully equipped with solid beech worktops, separate oven and hob, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and plenty of cupboard space for food storage. Further storage space for beach bags, suitcases etc, can be found underneath the carpeted stairs, which lead to the first floor. On the first floor there are two comfortable bedrooms, one double and one twin, both have plenty of storage space and views over the surrounding woodland. There is also a bathroom with a walk-in shower, toilet, wash basin, towel radiator and skylight window.
Glebe Barn and the twin letting cottages Tawny and Apple Tree, are located in the village of Sheviock, part of the unspoiled Whitsand Bay area of Cornwallâs Rame Peninsula, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Situated just off the A374.
The cottages benefit from quick and easy access by car and bus to to the many attractions of the peninsula, Plymouth and Devon while also being within five miles of the A38 and the rest of Cornwall. A shop/P.O. and Pub/Restaurants can be found in Crafthole only half a mile away, while the nearest beaches, coastal path access, cafe, golf course and hotel are at Portwrinkle only 1.5 miles away. Downderry and Seaton, only four miles away offer more beach side, shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, also situated on the southwest coastal path. The largest town in the area is Torpoint, only five miles away, offering the many amenities of larger towns such as supermarkets, numerous shops, a petrol station, surgeries, a post office and the Torpoint ferry service to Plymouth.
The Rame Peninsula and in particular the Whitsand Bay area offers beautiful unspoilt sandy beaches and stunning estuary and coastal scenery, there are numerous walks and opportunities for bird watching, fishing, kayaking, body boarding, surfing and diving. The National Trust Antony House and Gardens are within a 15 minute drive as are Cremyll and the Mount Edgecombe Esatate and Country Park, Kingsand and Cawsand and the stunning views of Plymouth estuary and harbour they provide. Access to the city of Plymouth and its numerous attractions, including its rich maritime history, shopping centres, marinas and harbourside restaurants is easy either via the Tamar bridge, the passenger ferry from Cremyll, or the car ferries from Torpoint.
A little further afield but still only a 20 minute drive, are the typically beautiful Cornish fishing villages of Polperro and Looe, offering numerous tourist attractions including boat and fishing trips. Within an hour or so you can be in Fowey, St Austell and the Eden Project, Padstow, Newquay, Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor, and the South Devon Heritage Coast villages of Wembury, Burgh Island and Salcombe. Even the bright lights of St Ives, Torbay and Newquay are a little more than an hours drive, offering the best that both Cornwall and Devon has to offer.
