Excellent spot to launch from for outdoor adventures in the region and to enjoy Fort Collins. Really suited our family perfectly. Lovely patio space. Excellent host who offered wonderful recommendations.
My wife and I stayed for the month of April. The cottage is clean and well equipped. The location is great. It's an easy walk to Old Town, the Poudre Trail, and City Park.
Second time here. We stayed again for 30 days to see one of our kids that attends CSU. House is always clean, cute and ready for our visit. Amy is quick and responsive. We will be back. Thanks Amy!
We stayed here for a wedding weekend and thoroughly enjoyed this place! Beautiful front and back yard perfect for our pup and a casual hang on the evening. I've lived in Old Town and our stay here was the quintessential Fort Collins vibe
This is our second stay in Shields Cottage - and even with our Ram graduating this Spring, we doubt it will be our last. The host is fabulous; kind and responsive. The cottage decor is sweet and makes for a comfortable temporary home with all the right touches and extras.
The home has been remodeled with a nice large kitchen snd fenced front and back yards. Plenty of outdoor room but could use some grounds maintenance and window screens
The house was small but in a great location and did the job for a great stay in Ft Collins
Kitchen in large bathroom is quit small great air conditioning
We loved our stay in this sweet cottage. Itâs set back off the road, and has a lovely, private fenced backyard. Artful decor with some thoughtful holiday additions. Super comfy beds and very clean. Weâd definitely choose to stay here again.
This was the perfect little place for our family to call home base. We loved the location and it allowed us to venture to RMNP, Estes Park, and all over Fort Collins! The backyard was an oasis for our pups! The host even let out pups out and dropped off a cookie for my kids one afternoon! Definitely recommend this sweet spot in Fort Collins!
My husband and I stayed while our furry family member had surgery at CSU. The cottage was adorable and very comfortable and had everything we could need. The front yard was perfect for our little dog as it is set back from the road! Amy was a wonderful and receptive host!
Shields Cottage is a perfect selection for a relaxing stay in Fort Collins. The host has provided everything needed for an enjoyable visit: lovely furnishings; comfortable beds; and fully-equipped kitchen. It is conveniently located in town, yet the landscaping gives a feeling of seclusion. A variety of flowers blooming in both the front and back yards are a special treat. We enjoyed every moment at this charming hobbit cottage and only wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend!
Enjoyed the outdoors as much as the indoors. The house is well appointed and just the right size for the two of us. The back yard and front yard were of about equal size. Enjoyed reading on the front porch! The long driveway makes the address on a busy street feel really safe. The house is also well located to all the fun restaurants, shopping, and outdoor activities that Fort Collins has to offer.
Blocks from Colorado State University and minutes from Oldtown. Very clean home with a full kitchen and anything you may need. Weather did not allow us to use the backyard but had a fire pit and gas grill. I would stay here again!
The cottage was lovely. Our CSU kiddo was able to spend time with us at âour placeâ vs their apt. Great location as a base for our FOCO exploration. Our hosts thought of everything; well appointed kitchen, comfy beds, warm and inviting living room. We enjoyed the firepit at night. And the place was even more beautiful with the Thanksgiving snow. Highly recommend.
We enjoyed a long stay at this cozy cottage. It was comfortable with a delightful back yard for enjoying the Colorado fall weather. Although the bedrooms are small, the beds are very comfortable. The living room and kitchen are spacious and fully functional. The location is great - about a one mile walk from Old Town. In spite of being on a busy road, it is set back from the street and very quiet. We definitely hope to stay here again.
This is a very cute house that was comfortable, homey and well supplied with every essential item that we needed. We really enjoyed the location within the Fort Collins area and the neighborhood itself. The street was blocked off for construction so the quietness may have been due to that, but it was very quiet and peaceful. The only thing that was not pleasant and is not the fault of the owner, is the neighbor next door who smokes weed all day long. It was present on the front porch, back deck and the smell would also get into the house when the doors opened. While we totally hate that smell, and it was pretty regular, we would probably stay here again as it really is a charmer.
OVERALL: 5 STARS; STAY 4 Nights: PROS: Comfortable beds, Clean, Nice back yard, Big dinning table, great stove, sink, dishwasher, coffee pot, all the amenities. Near town, walking distance from small neighborhood grocery, close proximity to downtown, restaurants, shops and breweries. If you are looking for a quiet bungalow to rest your weary bones and hang out at while visiting Fort Collins you won't go wrong with Shields Cottage. Everything was just as we had hoped so we didn't need to ask anything of Amy our hostess. Checkin and check out were easy peasy. Thanks Amy for sharing Shields Cottage with us. We look forward to staying again in the future.
Such a darling place with so much charm & character! The home was comfortable, inviting, and had everything we could possibly need. The property manager was quick to respond to messages, gave helpful hints on where to dine in the area, & made sure our stay was enjoyable. Absolutely recommend & will definitely be back for another stay in the future!
The house was wonderful, clean, and exactly what we had hoped for. The location was great. It was convenient to everything, and I look forward to booking again in the future.
Clean, and well kept. Convenient location to downtown and campus. Great back yard with fire pit. Enjoyed the coffee. Thank you so much we hope to be back again.
We have lived in Fort Collins for over 15 years. We attended Colorado State University, own small businesses in town, and are raising our young children here in the public school system.
This home is unique because it is the perfect balance of the old and the new. It is fresh, uncluttered, comfortable, and completely renovated. The backyard, with its mature landscaping, interesting out buildings, and stone fire pit, is unlike any yard I have seen at a rental property downtown.
