This cute spot is in a great , peaceful neighborhood very close to the ferry that will bring you to the French quarter in only 5 minutes. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is stocked with all the appliances you could possibly need to whip up a nice meal. The temperature was very comfortable, so the air conditioning keeps up very well. There are a few nice cafes at a close walking distance that we were able to grab breakfast and âthe dry dock cafeâ is a wonderful place to stop for lunch. Host is kind and responsive. Highly recommend.
Overall very cute. Well stocked with anything we may need. You can see the river out of one of the living room windows it was a little Dusty but cutely decorated. The bathroom is very small. Good place to dip into the French quarter and dip out, but the ferry stops at 9:00 p.m. so an Uber is needed to come home at night
We we're staying for a volleyball tournament and didn't want the 300 hotel rooms with no room. This house was perfect for us. Once you're there there really isnt a reason to drive over to New Orleans. The ferry runs from 6am to 10 pm for 2 a ride. Compared to 50 parking its a no brainer. At night the neighborhood is completely quiet. We were in bed by 10 and up by 5am with no city noises. We'll be staying next year.
What a great place and wonderful host. The location is so good, nice quiet neighborhood so close to the ferry into the French Quarter. Would highly recommend this house. The owner Tina is a dream to work with.
The house was as advertised on the listing. It was a great spot located next to the ferry which is just a two minute ride over to the main drag. Our friend group enjoyed our weekend stay at Tinaâs place!
I didnât expect there are so many nice restaurants around there. Neighborhoods are very nice. We got to prefer this district to stay rather than French Quarter.
My family (myself, partner and 14 yo daughter), travelled from Canada to spend Halloween in New Orleans. Tina's house did not disappoint! We arrived after dark but her instructions were very good as to how to find the lockbox with the key and gaining entry to the house. Everything was very clean and tidy and we spent 4 very comfortable nights there. Nicely decorated with eclectic taste!
The neighbourhood is old and quaint and the Halloween decorations were amazing! Two nice coffee shops nearby within walking distance and less than 5 minute walk to the ferry to get to the French Quarter. We liked that it was nice and quiet with lots of parking in front.
We tried some of the local cuisine, breakfast at Tout de Suite and the pizza place was just a block away (sorry, can't remember the name). Everyone we encountered in Old Algiers and in the Quarter were so friendly!
This was our first time staying on this side of the river. We loved it. It was a great location and about a 2min walk to the ferry. The property was very cute and clean. We enjoyed it and will be staying again
This should not be a 5 star review, however....(please read)
The location? Superb
The House? Adorable
The Host? A single word will not do... Kind, Generous, Conscientious, and the epitome of INTEGRITY.
It's easy to give 5 star reviews when your trip goes as planned... but this was NOT the case on my trip (think worst case scenario in a LA summer). The things that went wrong were not 100% in the ownerâs control, however, how she handled them was. This is where the true colors of a person showâŠ. Let me tell you, she is a FREAKING RAINBOW!!! She was trying to move heaven and earth to make it right and she DID. I will be staying with her every time I go to New OrleansâŠ.. I cannot recommend this house and owner enough!
Don't hesitate.... book this place now!
A very cozy apartment, great location, you can take the ferry every 1/2 hour to the city, but there were a bit too many cups, pots and knick-knacks for our taste.
My wife, 9 year old, and I stayed here for Jazzfest and it was perfect for us. Well stocked apartment just a few steps from the ferry. A nice quiet neighborhood to come back to in the evening. Loved it!
This was by far the best house and location possible! So clean, quiet neighborhood and so close to the not-so-quiet Quarter! 2 minute walk to the ferry then a 3 minute ferry ride and you're in the action! Perfect to get away from the hustle and bustle to sleep well in an amazing home! Tina was an awesome host and made sure everything was perfect! Will definitely stay here again!
This is a traditional French New Orleans home located in Algiers neighborhood, on second floor. It is very close to Ferry and two blocks to coffee shop, a taco bar and 5* Indian restaurant is located within walking distance. It has a beautiful sunporch for sitting relaxing after a long day walking. My wife and I stayed for over a week, took lots of tours, fishing, swamp, biking, walking and sampled lots of food. Beds were comfortable and kitchen well appointed. Would stay again.
Just a block from the ferry, this apartment is a delight. Comfortable beds, front room for relaxing, and fully stocked kitchen amenities. A block and a half from the best coffee shop Congregation--truly a gem. I'm gluten-free and ate lovely and safe meals at Tontino's and Tout de Suite. Would definitely stay here again!
Property was lovely, clean and nicely decorated. Just a ferry ride from New Orleans and nice to stay at night away from the noise and busyness of downtown
The apartment was in a safe neighborhood and great location for using the ferry. It was relaxing place to stay and would recommend it to other travelers.
My name is Tina Canavan and I reside in Massachusetts but I love New Orleans. I decided to purchase property in New Orleans because I had rented other homes on VRBO. I love the rich history and charm of New Orleans.
This house is in a great location with great views of the City. Algiers Point is a quaint village with beautiful homes. Algiers provides you with the feel of a small neighborhood but you are only minutes away from New Orleans.
