Super cottage, perfectly located by the harbour. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Lovely long weekend spent with old friends. Little courtyard is a sun trap - lovely space to relax in.
Lovely stay at Blue Bay cottage. So many amenities catered for. Julia and John were great hosts. It was a bit hot in the Summer heat, Julia brought over a fan that helped a little. It was a bit difficult on the Friday night and Saturday night as the local pubs had live music until 11.00pm, but that isn't a knock on the property. It just meant we couldn't have the windows open to help with the heat.
On the morning of our stay we were advised by the owners that our road and the surrounding roads were closed for an annual event. This meant we had to carry all our luggage from the carpark .We were a family including grandparents and a special needs child and for a weeks holiday had a lot of luggage.it took several trips and was very stressful walking through a packed square each time. The road was also closed the following weekend.I suggested to the owner that she should check when the road closes are and advised people in good time. There are no dustbins so you are asked to leave your rubbish in the outhouse where the washing machine is so its not ideal. The house was adequate although it does say there is a bath and there isn't.
Very clean and beautiful decor throughout the cottage with everything you need. Close to everything you need/want to visit. Comfortable beds and lots of space!
Absolutely wonderful, perfect location!
Everything you need to cook and prep with has been thought about.
Quirky cottage that won all our hearts. Julia and John were fantastic with communication, perfect host's.
Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Louise and family.
Beautiful cottage its home from home , excellent location very close to the harbour, pubs , the famous fish & chip shop is a must but go early as the queues are down the road. Lovely little T shop just around the corner you must pop in , the staff are so friendly.
The only down side of the property is the stairs, itâs on two levels , the sitting room quarters are up stairs,I took my brother & sister in law they are 87 & 86 ,they found the stairs very hard to climb & go down as theyâve have difficulty in walking , especially in the night they had to go downstairs to go to the toilet in the bathroom on the 1st floor , if there were photos of the stairs we wouldnât have booked the cottage,it spoiled their holiday for them ,also I couldnât sleep at night listening out for them getting up to go to the loo, I had to help them down the stairs, so they didnât fall down . On a good note đif you donât have any difficulty in walking,itâs a lovely perfect place to stayđ10/10 đ»
Great location on the old harbour south which is full of life throughout the day and does get busy. Lots to see and do nearby both on foot or in the car and you do get used to playing âparking rouletteâ
The accommodation is first class with everything you need to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable spread over three floors, with the living room on the first floor. A lovely old house with lots of character and quirks with one step steeper than the rest which caught us out on many an occasion. You are spoiled for choice on whet you eat and can choose from outside, in the conservatory, the kitchen or the dining room. It was great having three bedrooms although it took us a while to find the third one which was off the living room. Like I said lots of quirks. Communication with the owner was first class and a useful guide to everything you need to know in a folder on the table. We can definitely recommend Blue Bay Cottage from our perspective and based on the considerations mentioned check it fits with your holiday preferences.
We had an excellent stay. The cottage is great with everything you would need for your holiday. Superb location. We would definitely stay here again. One point to note we were expecting a bath in the property but the bathroom only had a shower - a very nice shower but nevertheless if you have young children this might be of interest to you.
A friend and I stayed in Blue Bay Cottage for a week this October. We had a relaxing stay - the street is very quiet, but brilliantly located right next to the old harbour, pubs, cafes, etc, and a short walk from the main shopping street. The house is clean and well-equipped. The hosts were very welcoming and were able to help us out immediately with a few questions during out stay.
I recommend it, and would love to stay again.
(We were supposed to have family with us including a child, and it would have been equally suitable for the larger group.)
House is in a good location walking distance to bars restaurants & the beach
Nicely decorated & well maintained house :very well equipped with everything you would need & much more
Comfortable beds
Lovely bright cottage within a stone's throw of the harbourside. A useful grocery in the next street, and eating places are a two-minute walk away. The beach is the safest possible for children learning to swim, and Sandsfoot beach is another option which you can walk to along the Rodwell Trail (although the signposting is inadequate for visitors to the area). The house is comfortably furnished, but we would have liked some seat pads on the kitchen chairs where we spent most of our time (we had a 2 year-old with us), and a few more clothes hangers in the second bedroom would help. Highly recommended.
Hi, I live nearby and I'm happy for you to contact me with any questions. I love Weymouth and have lived here most of my life! I'm married to John and we have three children. I hope you love the cottage as much as we do! It's in a beautiful area and lose to all amenities!
Blue Bay is a very pretty and striking cottage, it's decorated with a classic, timeless and cozy feel. It's close to the old harbour and there's loads of coffee shops and restaurants nearby.
