We loved our stay at Il Conventina. It was so relaxing and restful with inspiring views all around. We loved the space and closeness to the piazza. Manuela waited for us, even though our train was late. We would love to stay here again. Thank you!!
What a wonderful place to stay. Clean , absolutely beautiful views, We had a wonderful stay in Vernazza! Thank you for having us. We hope to be back sometime soon!
This place was amazing. The location is great with the best view of the harbor in Vernazza. Our three couples had plenty of space and a beautiful outdoor terrace for meals. Luca and Manu were great hosts with good local recommendations.
We visited this great property with our son and his friends, all studying in Florence for the semester. It was a beautiful break for all of us, literally on the hiking trail, views are spectacular, hosts are amazing and the place is very special. We will book this again if we are back in the area!
What a wonderful time we had in Vernazza! And Lucaâs place was spectacular! Very comfy beds, great accommodations for whatever you needed for your stay. Kitchen and baths nicely updated, comfy seating areas inside and out, and the views were amazing! Only downside was hauling luggage up and down all those stairs. Very gracious hosts, great recommendations for food and sites. I would come again!
We regularly stay at vrbo for all of our vacations and this is one of the loveliest we had the pleasure of staying at. It was perfect for a family of 4, the amenities were perfect and it had everything you need. The location was one of the most beautiful. We split our time between here and Rome and wished we would have spent the entire time here. The shop owners, restaurants and vendor were fantastic! Highly recommend.
What a fabulous property! I should have though more about the packing that we did (just use backpacks) but other than that, this is the cream of the crop in Vernazza.
We loved our time here and would highly recommend it! Thanks to Luca and Manuela for your kind hospitality.
Kind Regards
Rebecca
Property was as described. Great views! Attentive host and excellent cleaning staff! Would use again for a visit to Cinque Terre!
(Be prepared to climb a lot of steep steps!!)
Unfortunately for us the weather was dreary. Cold and raining most of the 3 days we were there. What cheered us up was the view from the Villa. The house it self has NO comfortable sitting arrangements. Nothing was comfortable to sit on. The lighting in the Villa was attrociou! Not even the light bulbs matched. They need dimmers on the lower level on ALL switches and need to update the "Vibe" of the place. The bedrooms were sparce and the nighstands were too high and too far from the bed. It should be advertised as a 1.5 bath. Once again the lighting was uninviting. Getting your luggage to the Villa is extremely difficult and will cost you 30 euro coming and going. Plan on bringing just a backpack. This could be a very cool place. For the price it definetly needs to be updated.
The property sits perched on a hill with amazing views. The house was clean and had a small, but functioning kitchen. We enjoyed the 2 outdoor areas overlooking the sea. If I picked a negative, it would be that the bathrooms are small and they are both upstairs. A delightful stay with very helpful hosts. Did I say the views are amazing??!!!!
We really enjoyed our stay! The house is super clean and comfortable. The location overlooking the harbor keeps you above all the day time hustle and bustle but still close to everything. Outdoor seating was comfortable and fun in the evening. Highly recommend hiring assistance with your luggage from the train station unless you pack light or are really fit. Luca was kind enough to arrange some help for our bags.
Luca's place blew us away. It's the house that when you are on the beach in Vernazza you look up and go 'i wonder who lives in that incredible spot'.
Four double bedrooms, plenty of space in a comfortable living room, lots of balcony. Two minutes from the square and the sea for your morning swim. It's got wifi and air con. We were five adults but it would also be big enough for four couples.
It is.up some stairs but if that's a problem, then the whole cinque terre probably isn't for you. communication with Luca was easy.
Basically we loved it.
Amazing location and views from this beautiful house on the cliff overlooking the harbor in Vernazza. We honestly had the best view in town! The home was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. We had everything we needed for our family of 5. It was wonderful to pop out for breakfast and come back and have it on the balcony nook. I would recommend taking the train into Vernazza and not driving however which was a bit stressful. Looking forward to returning!
Perfectto. That is how we describe out stay at Il Conventino delle 5 Terre. Luca was wonderful and met us at the train station and escorted us there. It was everything described and more. Beautiful views. Convenient to both the town of Vernazza and the hiking trail among the Cinque Terre, we could not have asked for a better place. Luca was prompted in responding to our questions and requests. We will return.
My family and I stayed for four nights. It was a wonderful and refreshing coastal break after spending nearly a week in Rome and Florence.
The pictures posted on the site donât do justice to the amazing view. The first floor was much bigger than I anticipated. Beds were comfortable. Our host was friendly, helpful, and very easy to communicate with.
And Vernazza is such a fun town! Swimming and snorkeling in the bay was fun with lots of tropical fish and octopus to watch. Easy to hop on the train to visit the other towns of Cinques Terres. The hiking trail to Monterosso also goes right by the entry to this property.
Absolutely lovely converted convent that was perfect for our family of 6 with 4 teens for 3 nights.
Stunning views overlooking the ocean. The weather did not cooperate the first day, and the unit was fully stocked for us to make breakfast and have a cozy day storm watching and hanging out.
Location is a great jumping off point to hike the parts of the coastal Cinque Terre that are open now - we hiked north, then trained south to visit southern towns and hiked back from Corniglia as Vernazza is right in the middle. The town itself has all the amenities including grocery and many restaurants to chose from literally a 5 min walk away,
Luca and Emmanule were very welcoming and accommodating hosts and answered questions quickly with lots of great tips about the town and the the Cinque Terre. Highly recommend!
The location and home are perfect. The house is fully restored with a great view of the harbor. We arrived late and Luca (owner) arranged for us to be met at the train station. The guys at the station helped us with our bags (5 euro each). Everyone in town knows the Convent and most know Luca. Just mentioning his name gets a smile. The town can get crowed during the day, but after the last boat leaves serenity sets in. Kids are playing in the town square, locals are sitting around people watching, and everyone is just enjoying life. We ate at most of the restaurants in town. Could not get in Belforte. Reservations are required at most places. Highlights were the owner of the Blue Marlin and wine tasting up by the castle. You can't go wrong staying at the Convent. We would go back and stay at the Convent in a flash. Luca was great to work with.
If you stay here you will have âthe viewâ of Vernazza! It is absolutely beautiful. There are many steps to get there, but itâs worth it. The accommodations were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked with plates and utensils. Communication with the host was perfect. Quick and easy! The only things to note is if you are a light sleeper, the church bells go off fairly early and the train goes by often, but we found that all quite enchanting. Would eagerly stay here again any time!
The place was fantastic and the views were unbelievable. I loved the feeling of having a home base and actually got to know several shopkeepers and waitresses in town. Would highly recommend. My only comment would be the issue of luggage assistance-the major or the group was over 70 and had some difficulty
The house is perfectly situated where you can quietly relax looking out at the ocean views. A short walk downstairs and you are in the heart of the hustle and bustle of tourists, shops and eateries. Access to the beach and swim off the rocks are very close as well. The train to access all the towns is a short walk away as is the marina to schedule a boat tour. Hiking trails start at the entrance of the house for hiking to Monterosso which takes about two hours by trail. The train and church bells are loud at night and morning but it adds to the experience. Luca is a great host who is easy to access if needed.
This was our second stay at Lucaâs lovely villa. The first time was at Christmas and the second time for Spring Break. The villa is absolutely stunning, well furnished, has thoughtful and artistic touches throughout. Luca is an artist and that is evident in the style of his home. The kitchen is well equipped and set up for cooking and preparing meals. There is also a dining room for a large family of 6-7 to sit and eat breakfast.
The villa sits directly on the beginning of the trail from Vernazza to Monterosso and is just a short walk down to the most beautiful town of all the 5 villages, Vernazza. We loved waking up with coffee each morning on the balcony overlooking the sea. The views are magical! The setting is like you are living in a movie. We will definitely return again. Thank you for another amazing family vacation!
All the prior 5-star ratings and comments are absolutely true!!! The villa and views were spectacular. Luca and Emanuela were very gracious hosts and very quick to respond to any questions that we had during our stay. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer - but we hope to return again in the future!
We arrived in Rome the day before our check in here and took the train to Vernazza. The trip was roughly 4 hours long with one transfer⊠buy your tickets early and get a first class seat!
Arriving in Vernazza, we were struck by how convenient the town is. The train station sits up the street at one end of town. Walk toward the sea and end up at what we were calling the town square. The street is lined with so many wonderful restaurants and shops⊠we could have stayed much longer than a week and still not tasted everything. The gelato was plentiful and delicious! There are a couple little stores where we bought cheeses, meat, bread, wine, and pastries to take back to the home for lunches and nibbles. The town is laid back with a very energetic vibe. Loads of tourists during the day who disappear with the last train in the evenings. The HOUSE though! I travelled with my sister and four of our older teenager kids. The beds are comfy (each bedroom having an A/C unit that worked very well) and spacious. Two comfortable bathrooms on the bedroom level. Downstairs is the dining/living room area with a tiny, perfect kitchen. The view out the three sets of gorgeous double doors canât be described and photos wonât do it justice.
You have to see it. The stairs up to the home are challenging if you arenât active, but definitely doable⊠just rest intermittently.
The hiking path is literally right outside of the house gate. We did the 3.6km hike to Monterosso in about 2 hours. Take lots of water. We enjoyed a lovely lunch and some shopping and then some of us took the train back to Vernazza while a couple of us hiked the trail back. It took about an hour to return. The swimming down by the rocks is amazing⊠the water refreshing but not too cold. We bought floaties and goggles at one of the stores and loved jumping off the low cliffs. Iâd love to return and would highly recommend this property! Luca and Emanuela are lovely, responsive, and very helpful. Weâd run out of coffee pods on our last day and I inquired about where to go to buy some more⊠there is no place in town so Luca made a special delivery of pods despite our protests that we could just get coffee in town. We are so grateful for the week that we had in Vernazza
