à propos de cet hébergement
Box Cottage, 4 couchages, centre de Broadway
Box Cottage is a small but perfectly formed 200-year-old Cotswold cottage hidden away in a quiet spot behind Broadway's bustling main street. Postcard-worthy exteriors give way to a homely and welcoming interior that has everything you need for a stay in one of the Cotswold's most popular destinations. Inside you'll find charming interiors with exposed wooden beams, original windows, and stunning parquet floors. On the ground floor, there's a cosy living room, dining room and compact and bijou kitchen that has everything you need. Upstairs are two well-appointed, spacious bedrooms and the cottage bathroom with a double shower and a wonderful, high ceiling.
Tucked behind Box Cottage is a charming courtyard garden, enveloped by traditional Cotswold stone walls and a beautiful wisteria-clad pergola, offering welcome shade on sunny days. It's the perfect spot for dining on warm evenings after a busy day exploring the beautiful Cotswolds.
Ground Floor
Entrance Hall:
As you step through the traditional front door, you'll find yourself in a light-filled hallway with whitewashed stone walls and parquet flooring. There are hooks for hanging outdoors coats and a handy box bench where you can sit to remove walking boots. There's also a cloakroom with a WC hidden away beneath the stairs.
Dining Room:
The charming dining room is beautiful in its simplicity. Pale walls and décor set off the warm wood of the parquet flooring and the circular dining table which seats four. Natural light flows into the room from the original window with views out to the courtyard.
Kitchen:
The galley-style kitchen leads off the dining room and although small in size has everything you need for a self-catering stay with an electric oven and hob, fridge-freezer, and a dishwasher. The pale grey design adds to the feeling of light and space. There's a tiny tea making nook squeezed in as well.
Living Room:
The cosy living room is furnished in the same pale, calming palette of colours with a comfy sofa, and two armchairs. The original stone fireplace is no longer in use but remains a focal point of the room. The traditional equine art on the walls is a subtle nod to Broadway's history as an important coaching hub of the Cotswolds. Natural light flows in through the dual aspect windows, there's also a door to the enclosed courtyard garden.
First Floor
Bedroom 1:
The master bedroom is light and bright with a wonderful dual aspect. The focal feature is the intricately carved mahogany antique French-style, king-size bed. This spacious room also features built-in wardrobes, dressing table and mahogany nightstands with reading lamps.
Bedroom 2:
The second bedroom at Box Cottage is light and spacious with twin beds, making it perfect for children or friends sharing. It can however also be made up as a double on request. There's plenty of storage with a built wardrobe and a dressing table. There's also a throw-back to the Victorian era with a handbasin tucked behind the door. This room is also dual aspect so there is plenty of natural light.
Bathroom:
The family shower room has a wonderful double shower, Victorian-style handbasin and a lovely high ceiling, adding to the feeling of light and space. Like the other rooms throughout the cottage, there's a large window flooding the bathroom with natural light.Outside
This lovely, hidden away cottage has an enclosed, courtyard garden and is the perfect spot for outdoor dining with a wrought-iron four-seater table and chairs and a wooden dining set, which sits beneath a wisteria-covered wooden pergola. Or just enjoy evening drinks or a tranquil morning coffee before the day's adventure begin.
