We spent an amazing two-week holiday at Thyme Cottage. We had an excellent experience. Plenty to see and do in location. The cottage is in a beautiful, quiet location and is spotlessly clean. Every room was well equipped with everything you need from hairdryers to kitchen essentials. Very tastefully furnished. All appliances are top range. Fluffy towels and lovely bed linen.
Itâs a lovely comfortable cottage to stay and is very private.
Communication through booking, arrival and departure was excellent. Julie is prompt in responding to queries and very helpful.
We would not hesitate in staying here again on our next trip to Cornwall.
A beautiful cottage equipped with everything a family or couple would need whilst away from home. Hosts were very welcoming, the cottage is easy to find and set within idyllic countryside surroundings. The cottage has all the modern amenities you would need whilst still keeping itâs true character with wooden rafters and stone walls. I would highly recommend this accommodation - itâs just perfect!
Oh and the homemade cream scones were perfection on arrival; just what was needed after a long drive.
Great cottage at a great location. Easy access to the Eden Project, Lands End, and St Ives plus many stunning beaches around the area. Neil and Julie were great hosts and the cream tea on the first day was wonderful. The garden had plenty of activities to keep the kids occupied too. I would recommend to anyone.
I live on site with my other half in a lovely old barn here at Badgers Sett Holiday Cottages which incorporates 3 cottages, Rosemary Lavender and Thyme.
We purchased the property in November 2018 and since then have been busy carrying out lots of improvements - all the cottages now have a wood burning stove, new tiled flooring and sparkly new bathrooms with large spacious showers installed.
All three of our holiday cottages have a ' 4 star rating with Gold Award' from Visit England.
We live on site and will be here to welcome you and hand over the key to Thyme on arrival. If for any reason we are unable to be here to greet you, the entrance key will be placed within Thyme's individual keysafe and the code messaged to you before arrival.
One of us is generally around and we are happy to answer any questions you may have about the cottage or surrounding area.
The cottages and owner's house have been carefully converted from the barns of the former West Draynes Farm. The farm and manor of Draynes date back over 1000 years and the original barns are thought to have been built around 1700.
The conversions have retained many of the unique stone features and exposed beams, whilst incorporating modern comforts such as full central heating throughout. Thyme Cottage has a Wood Burning Stove installed, making it a viable option for a cosy and peaceful break away from it all throughout the Seasons.
Badgers Sett Holiday Cottages is located within a designated 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' which has been awarded a 'Dark Sky Accreditation'.
We are located between the villages of St Cleer & St Neot in the River Fowey valley, on the southern slopes of Bodmin Moor,. This beautiful area is within easy reach of the main A30 and A38 trunk roads, making it a fantastic place from which to explore Cornwall.
The stunning coastal path can be accessed at many points around Looe and Polperro, or along the north coast near Padstow, Port Isaac or Boscastle. Many visitors like to visit the iconic Lands End which can be combined in the same trip to other prominent places in the far west such as St Michael's Mount. Beautiful sandy beaches are just a short drive away.
Locally there are many walks in moorland and river valley locations. Several pubs and restaurants are within a short drive offering a great choice of food to suit all tastes, from family friendly to fine dining.
