Honest Review
The cottage was nice, a few more basic essential could have been provided. Ot the nicest but definitely not the worst place we have stayed. Not the most dog friendliess place, no private back garden for the dog.
The location was awful, not even a nice pub within walking range. Love Cornwall and will definitely be back but we would not stay in this area again.
The cottage was exactly as shown, clean tidy and comfortable. There was great outside space available, fenced and safe for children or dogs. All facilities, pubs, shops, local sites had to be accessed by car.
Really enjoyed a relaxing stay at Rosemary cottage Would highly recommend for a couple wanting peace and quiet, but with access to lots of interesting places
The Rosemary cottage is ideal for a couple and is situated in a private setting with easy access to walks and hikes on Bodmin. The cottage is only a couple of miles from St. Neot, a charming village with a wonderful inn/pub and a church that is a 'must see'. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped. The hosts, Neil and Julie, were welcoming and went out of their way to provide advice about local attractions.
I live on site with my other half in a lovely old barn here at Badgers Sett Holiday Cottages which incorporates 3 cottages, Rosemary Lavender and Thyme.
We purchased the property in November 2018 and since then have been busy carrying out lots of improvements - all the cottages now have a wood burning stove, new tiled flooring and sparkly new bathrooms with large spacious showers installed.
My Mum and Dad live in Cornwall, so we have always been lucky to escape to this lovely county on a regular basis which has resulted in us moving here and buying Badgers Sett Holiday Cottages. We have a good local knowledge of area and are more than happy to pass on information to guests if asked.
We enjoy meeting people and working on beautiful old properties so this really is a 'Busman's Holiday' for us !
All three of our holiday cottages have a ' 4 star rating with Gold Award' from Visit England.
We live on site and will be here to welcome you and hand over the key to Rosemary on arrival. If for any reason we are unable to be here to greet you, the entrance key will be placed within Rosemary's individual keysafe and the code messaged to you before arrival.
One of us is generally around and we are happy to answer any questions you may have about the cottage or surrounding area.
The cottages and owner's house have been carefully converted from the barns of the former West Draynes Farm. The farm and manor of Draynes date back over 1000 years and the original barns are thought to have been built around 1700.
The conversions have retained many of the unique stone features and exposed beams, whilst incorporating modern comforts such as full central heating throughout. Rosemary Cottage has a Wood Burning Stove installed, making it a viable option for a cosy and peaceful break away from it all throughout the Seasons.
Badgers Sett Holiday Cottages is located within a designated 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' which has been awarded a 'Dark Sky Accreditation'.
We are located between the villages of St Cleer & St Neot in the River Fowey valley, on the southern slopes of Bodmin Moor,. This beautiful area is within easy reach of the main A30 and A38 trunk roads, making it a fantastic place from which to explore Cornwall.
The stunning coastal path can be accessed at many points around Looe and Polperro, or along the north coast near Padstow, Port Isaac or Boscastle. Many visitors like to visit the iconic Lands End which can be combined in the same trip to other prominent places in the far west such as St Michael's Mount. Beautiful sandy beaches are just a short drive away.
Locally there are many walks in moorland and river valley locations. Several pubs and restaurants are within a short drive offering a great choice of food to suit all tastes, from family friendly to fine dining.
