It was close to everything the Hamptons had to offer. Close to the bay and Hot Dog and Cooper beach which are the iconic beaches you see in the movies. The home was lovely and fit my party comfortably.
Mornings were spent sitting in a screened in porch, looking out at the canal while listening to the birds as sunlight poured in, having coffee and reading, it was so relaxing. Beautiful skies at night with a nice deck to star gaze or during the day great place to tan.
Sweet cottage home in a lovely area. Lots of great walks in the neighbourhood and down each road is a beach. Great area to explore.
Deena is a great host and took great care of me.
We enjoyed our stay. Spent many nights on the dock fishing and crabbing. Good access to the North and South Shore. Quiet and friendly community. Very attentive host.
I paid for cleaning and the house was dirty; kitchen counter had hair and cob webs thereon; coffee maker contained coffee grounds with MOLD; toilet bowl and floor around it filthy as were the heat and ac returns; tile in shower not clean; duct tape patching on screened-in porch, front door and throughout; electric and fire hazards throughout, extension cords and wires, screened in porch light connected to two extension cords for power plugged into house; roof over screened-in porch repaired improperly; no lighting at entry or railings; walkways uneven and broken; front door sill broken and dangerous; hoses strewn around property posing hazardous walking conditions; railing to bowing dock loose and dangerous; landscaping not maintained, debris around property, weeds, bugs and mosquitoes. Home needs thorough cleaning, pest control and licensed electrician and carpenter; outside needs cleanup by professional landscaper and spraying for pests and mosquitoes.
We greatly enjoyed our summer stay here- the location is wonderfully close to the beach and easy drive to both Riverhead and the hamptons. Loved the water view backyard and the neighborhood it is in is very safe and great for walks. T landlord Deena was so quick, kind and accommodating with all our questions to ensure we had a good stay!
Deena's lovely little cottage was a true blessing and retreat while all this stuff is going on. We and our cats were made to feel likey guests, rather than renters, and the differences were shown in the cleanliness, and Deena's loving attitude toward us during this trying time. Deena as a host, and our experience were very wonderful, and we can't wait to go back.
Deena's directions were explicit and simple. She could
This is our second time renting this house and once again it did not disappoint! We love the house and the area so much. And the best part we get to bring our dog with us on the trip. Perfect stay! Thanks
We really had a wonderful time here, itâs a perfect little getaway spot. The location is not too far away from anything, restaurants, apple/pumpkin picking, the beach and shop! House was is great condition and very clean. Weâll be back!
Great host whoâs very accommodating and great spot to unwind. Cool canal out back and friendly neighbors. Couldnât beat the price, thanks for the stay.
A true two bedroom with lovely access to a canal. The lawn care was lacking and often looked seedy. One had to look out for thorny weeds while walking to the dock. The back screened in porch was ample, but the metal roof made it too hot to enjoy. The refrigerator dripped excess water and the A/C tripped out during high use and could not be serviced for four days. The WiFI did not work until the provider was switched. With a little more attention to detail, this could be a wonderful vacation spot.
Lovely feel good home with nice backyard on the canal
This home feels comfortable and is very cute. The street is very nice and it's great to be able to walk to the bay down the end of the cul-de-sac.
The owner was pleasant to talk to and easy-going, she made our stay easy!
We've loved this home through all 4 seasons. The Korean dogwood showers us with white flowers in the spring; Montauk daisies adorn the backyard in the fall. We can't say what we enjoy more: fabulous meals on the huge screened porch, coffee and a good book on the deck overlooking the canal, or biking around the leafy neighborhood, farm stands, and Tiana beach. Bring your boat or kayak. We're so comfortable that sometimes we don't even take the 10 minute drive to the uninterrupted expanse of the ocean beach.
This is a 90 minute escape away from the hubbub of Manhattan. We wanted a quiet community, not the star-studded Hamptons, and this was the perfect spot. Friendly low-key places to eat and imbibe.
Only 300 yards to the bay (for swimming and boating). Screened porch overlooks the tranquil canal, and a deck with a hammock and chairs is at the dock. Lots of counter space for preparing fresh fish and veggies from local markets. Friendly neighbors in a safe, secluded community.
