Couchers de soleil impressionnants, brises de l'océan et nuits étoilées tranquilles vous attendent dans cette maison de 1 chambre très propre et confortable située à 400 pieds sur deux acres et demi dans les collines de la côte de Kohala. De là, vous n'êtes qu'à quelques minutes des plus belles plages (telles que Hapuna), des activités nautiques (telles que la voile, la pêche, l'observation des baleines, la plongée avec tuba et la plongée), des restaurants et du golf que la grande île a à offrir.

Hale O Pueo est bien construit, léger, aéré et situé là où le soleil brille 350 jours par an. Cette paisible propriété au bout de la route est somptueusement aménagée avec une variété de plantes à fleurs tropicales et d'arbres. Le salon confortablement meublé, encadré de jasmin fleurissant la nuit et de bambous luxuriants, s'ouvre par une porte coulissante en verre sur la véranda couverte. Détendez-vous ici dans le cadre serein et les brises douces de l'océan en vous balançant dans le hamac ou en vous blottissant dans le mobilier tropical.

Great House, great view, great host

The view on the ocean and the sunsets is truely amazing. What makes this place so special is Kalia and her love for a fantastic garden. We loved our stay, the well equiped kitchen and the peace and silence.

A little slice of heaven on earth

This little gem is incredible . The views from the lanai are amazing and the owner has meticulously landscaped the grounds with the most beautiful plants and flowers . It’s truly an oasis away fromThe hustle and bustle of the city . If I could give this place 10 stars , I would. The owner was the most perfect host of all the places we’ve ever stayed. She was very responsive anytime we had a question or were looking for advice on things to see and do. Her hospitality was over the top !!! She is simply one of the best ! Book this one! You won’t regret it !

Amazing stay!

Staying here was an absolute dream. The property was gorgeous, the gardens spectacular and the view unbeatable. Waking each day up to a nature retreat was so lovely. The host, Kalia was so kind and made us feel so welcome. A perfect getaway, well appointed, and we can’t wait to return!

Lovely Bungalow

Kalia was delightful! The place was adorable and had all the comforts of home., especially mosquito spray! While it would have been hard to find, off the beaten path, Kalia's directions were perfect and she even waited to hear that we arrived safely before turning off her phone. Thank you, Kalia!

Perfect get-away in Kohala

We absolutely loved our time at Hale O Pueo. The accommodation is very comfortable, and the lanai is a beautiful spot to relax and look out over the lovely garden toward the ocean. Kalia was so pleasant and helpful, and made us feel at home right away. We're looking forward to our next stay!

Beautiful hale & location

This home is very clean, beautifully decorated and very well equipped. It has everything you’ll need for your stay on the Kohala Coast. The lanai has splendid views up and down the coast & incredible sunsets views. Lots of whale watching, too. It’s close to many beaches, historical sites & good day trips such as up to Hawi & the Pololu Valley Lookout. Kalia is a gracious & helpful host. We highly recommend staying here—5 star all the way!

Second time around - even better

We love this cottage. Absolutely everything is carefully curated. We stayed here six tears ago, loved it then, love it more now. The location is excellent, the decor is superb and the view from the Lani is to die for. Kalia is a wonderful host. I recommend her place unequivocally.

Very comfortable, clean and everything you need in this lovely cottage. Lanai fantastic with comfortable chairs, dining table and chairs and a hammock. Loved the outdoor shower. Quiet, peaceful, private and the VIEWS!!! Kalia was a wonderful host. Thanks Kalia

Paradise Found!

Warning! You may never want to leave Kohalo Estates 😊. My wife and I spent a week here and loved every minute. The views, location , gracious host. Everything you need for a relaxing and perfect time away. Kalia was so nice and helpful. Always responsive but never intrusive. We explored the Big Island during the day but back in time for beautiful sunsets. Could not have been happier with our stay. Mahalo, Kalia, for sharing this piece of paradise.

Kalia’s property was an absolute dream. My fiancé and I spent a week at the property and loved it. From enjoying coffee on the lanai in the morning breeze to dinner outside watching the sunset. BEAUTIFUL! We loved all of the flowers and gardens surrounding us and admired the birds singing in the morning. Kalia was so kind and helpful. She was quick to respond to questions and available. She has really made a special place unlike any other!

good, but a shared space

Although the view is indeed beautiful, I was disappointed that the place is a duplex, shared with the owner, as opposed to a "stand alone" house. I felt that I could not play music as I would have liked, and the sound of water running in the pipes was a constant reminder that I was not alone. The owner and her guests were very quiet, but still it was not what I had hoped for.

Wonderful place to stay

This little house is tucked away in the most amazing location away from the hustle and bustle of daily living! Everything was wonderful! The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook a few meals, bed was comfortable, lovely outdoor shower, and plenty of privacy. Breakfast on the patio every morning was a real treat! The geckos visited every morning to see what we were eating, so much fun to watch them! Looking up at the stars at night was just amazing. Loved the quiet (note the birds sing from sunrise to sunset), so we knew it was time to rise and shine when the birds awoke. Kalia was a perfect host! Answered questions quickly and helped us if we needed something. Great place to get away and the views are amazing! We were able to see the whales one day when they are active in the water with the binoculars that were provided. Overall great experience, thanks so much for sharing your little piece of paradise!

An Oasis in North Kohala

Truthfully, I cannot properly describe our stay at Hale O Pueo. It was by far the most relaxing place we stayed during our three week trip. (We like to bop around the island, as we have found that different parts of the island offer a variety of things to do and see.) We spent far too much time watching and enjoying the geckos on the lanai. We took too many photos of the sunset EVERY night we were there. (because it was always beautiful) We loved the oasis Kalia has created, the birdlife that goes along with it, and in turn, the birdsong. And the outdoor shower. Which in and of itself is reason enough to book, as it's beautiful (it really is!) and so dang relaxing! You're far away from the hustle and bustle of Kona and the resorts, but not too far away to easily grab groceries or something to eat at Kawaihae Junction, Waimea, or the Mauna Lani. And so close to so many great beaches and snorkeling. Yes, Kalia is right next door, but she is completely unobtrusive, has so much knowledge of the island and is so kind, we loved having her there. We will without doubt be back to Kalia's, as it was perfect for us and the way we travel. It was peaceful, quiet, we were surrounded by nature, and it was everything we had hoped it would be and more. Mahalo Kalia for opening your home to people who can come and enjoy your little spot of heaven on the Big Island.

Perfect stay for our 35th Anniversary!

We stayed for 8 days here and I don’t think any amount of time would ever be enough.When we arrived and walked up on the lanai and felt the tropical breeze coming off the ocean, it was so calming and peaceful! Note that the place does not have A/C—- it does not need it with the cool breezes and the ceiling fans! Kalia was an excellent host and provided detailed directions prior to our stay on getting to the property. Even though she is an onsite host, we felt complete privacy during our stay. After spending most mornings at the beach (the place really IS close to all the best beaches- owner has provided a listing of them in the guidebook), we would come back for lunch on the lanai. Although we had planned on venturing back out for the afternoons and evening, often we just stayed there and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and view. Owner provided everything possibly needed during our stay… and the bed was extremely comfortable! We also LOVED the outdoor shower. Hoping someday we can return to this beautiful paradise!

Wish we could rate it 10 out of 5.

Rejuvenating and relaxing. Perfect. We never got out of our lounge clothes because we couldn't bear to leave our oasis. The flowers, the birds, the curious sweet little gechos. The kitchen was well equipped. The lanai was so comfortable--even a hammock for naps. Lovely outdoor shower and the bed was so comfortable. Wifi was excellent, if you need it and tv offered sufficient options if you felt you needed that. Overall, so peaceful and just superb.
