The house was fantastic and our big group of adults and kids loved it. It is beautiful and spacious, and it has everything required for a very comfortable, relaxed holiday.
The house is located in gorgeous surroundings and the views of the countryside (and nearby castle) are wonderful. It is set amongst vineyards and is a short walk to the charming town of Gaiole in Chianti.
Both Ilaria and Vincenzo were perfect: very welcoming, helpful and responsive.
We had a terrific experience here and would love to come back.
We LOVED our weeklong stay at this beautiful villa. Our group of six people ranged in age from 85-2years old and all had an excellent time. There is something to do and space for everyone. Vincenzo and Renato were so kind and helpful. Highly recommend hiring Le Due Cuochine to come cook for you if you stay here. Overall incredible experience. Thank you!
This property is the perfect place for anyone looking to accommodate a large group in a totally immersive Tuscan get-away! The very spacious villa, built in the early 1900's is steeped in old-world charm that immediately makes you feel right at home in a place where you can unwind and savour each and every moment! It is also well situated to serve as home base for day trips to a variety of nearby cities and towns like Florence, Siena and others, including the cute village of Gaiole in Chianti (just a couple minute drive from the villa) where good food can be enjoyed at very reasonable prices. The memories made here with our family will be cherished forever. Thanks to Ilaria and her staff for making this a VERY special family trip.
We could not have chosen a more beautiful home in a more magical setting to meet the needs of our large group of 7. This gorgeous Tuscan home was incredibly spacious, with many large bedrooms, bathrooms, multiple living spaces so individuals could spread out, as well as a huge kitchen that had everything you could want or need! Oh, and the pool was glorious! We loved the wine they left as a welcome gift too, very special. Do not hesitate to book this home if you are traveling in a large group with family, friends, or both.
Our extended family (grandparents, parentts/siblings and 2yo/1yo/baby) had an amazing family trip in Tuscany at the villa. The hosts were responsive and accommodating - adding a crib to the roster so we could all travel easy! The gorgeous villa comfortable accommodated the 8 adults and 3 babies, with room to spare.
The views of the property are stunning and the proximity of the pool to the house made it so easy to step outside and relax. The 2 year old started each morning picking a grape off of the vine. We were even abke to watch a harvest from the yard! We enjoyed cooking in the fully stocked kitchen and had a chef come. We enjoyed many family meals in the dining room table and made lasting family memories. You can feel the love and warmth in this home! The location was great - walking or a short drive into town. We also did a couple of day trips to nearby cities. It was an ideal location and made traveling with children as easy as possible. We cannot say enough good things about the hosts and property manager. They gave us great confidence in booking an international trip! We highly recommend and hope to be back.
The house is set on the most magnificent piece of property with gorgeous views! There are flowers everywhere and a nice vegetable garden. We enjoyed the refreshing clean pool, and sitting on the comfortable couches under the oak tree. We even had dinner outside one evening.
The house itself is very large, with lots of space for our group of 9 people. Not every bedroom had its own bathroom but a few did. We would have liked to have a bathroom on the main floor since there is a large staircase, especially for the grandparents.
There is a small washing machine, and no dryer. The sun was strong and dried the clothes quickly. We occasionally saw the gardener as well as the caretaker and his family. There isnât air conditioning but it worked out ok for us, as it gets cool at night. Any issues were quickly attended to with a smile! Vincento, the house manager left us 2 bottles of his own wine, and biscottis, and was available when we needed him. We really enjoyed our family time together at this spacious home, and especially enjoyed the gorgeous property !
We had the most fabulous time! There were 8 of us- my husband and I and our 3 young adult children and their partners. The villa is spectacular and well appointed. We loved the pool- it was so refreshing! The seating under the oak tree was our favorite. Coffee in am and wine in pm. We had private chefs come 2 evenings- Il fiasco and le duo cuochine. Both outstanding and recommended by Ilaria. Amazing to eat at the beautiful table outside. We even stayed in and cooked one night. The town is about a mile walk or a quick drive. We loved the wine bars and ate at a few restaurants. Loved them all. Market in town for all supplies. It was warm when we were there but were never hot in villa fans worked great. The villa is so special we even canceled some tours as we all just enjoyed being there together swimming, playing games and taking in the views! Gaiole is wonderful. We hiked at Castello Meleto (do the 5k version), rented ebikes and rode 40 miles around the small towns. Lots of wine tasting. We cried when we had to leave. Such a special place!
If you have ever dreamed of living in a Villa in Tuscany, here it is. This stone farmhouse, set on a hill overlooking vineyards with a castle in the distance, has an idyllic charm that is out of a movie. âšInside, the rooms are rustic but beautifully decorated in true Italian country style, and spacious enough for our party of 7 to comfortably be together in every room. âšWe loved the country kitchen with the stone sink and fireplace. The house has a nice flow from room to room, and to the gorgeous outdoor spaces. It is exactly as pictured. Charming!âš! The location is perfect as you can easily walk to Gaiole for restaurants and groceries. We were there for the L'Eroica bike race and loved the convenience of the villa. Bedrooms are spacious and well-appointed. âš
Cons: My personal complaint is the ensuite with only a tub and handheld sprayer. It would be so easy to provide a shower option for this bathroom with a curtain and rod. The other issue was not realizing that the water was not drinkable until we reviewed the information sheet later in the stay. This was not mentioned during our orientation and check in. âš**This information is mentioned as tips for anyone staying in the future-NOT intended to be a negative on the property or the owner. The hosts were beyond accommodating and available at any time. Vincenzo was our contact and was helpful to us in finding restaurants, providing suggestions/directions, etc. He was always available and just a phone call away.
We would definitely return to this Villa. It was a beautiful and memorable experience! Thank you!!
Our family enjoyed our stay at this property. We just returned from an 8 day holiday and we could not be happier with our time in this lovely home. Thank you Vincenzo for all your great recommendations. Everything was perfect!!
A big house on a large piece of property. The property sits about 3/4 mile SW of the village of Gaiole in Tuscany, and like so many other small villages there were just enough points of interest in town to make things very manageable. A couple of small grocery stores, some really fine restaurants, and the obligatory gelateria were all very welcome. Gaiole is a great 'center-point' for half-day trips to towns nearby like Castellina in Chianti, Radda, Greve, Siena, and San Gimignano, so there's plenty to do.
The surround vineyard-covered hills are amazing, and at night the Castello di Metelo was amazingly framed by incredible uplighting...making the site visible from many miles around. No light pollution at night...you could see millions and millions of stars and the Milky Way. Very attentive property manager and helpful on-site property caretaker made the stay very enjoyable. Only complaints are the house was a little dusty and the dishes weren't the cleanest from the previous visitor, but that aside this place is very, very nice and highly recommended.
Spacious with gorgeous views from every angle. Helpful hosts with great communication. Easy to reach village with easy access to other areas of Florence and Siena.
We stayed for 7 nights with our family and had the best vacation. We visited in late September so the weather was mild. The home is well appointed and the agency very professional. Gaiole is one of the quaintest little villages, offering great food at reasonable prices. The house is walking distance to town and is only 30 minutes from Siena, which has amazing shopping. It's the perfect location in Tuscany and the views are stunning. The pictures are exactly how it looks in person, actually it was picture perfect. The only items to note is that the house is off the 408. There are no real addresses, the name is actually the driveway name which is well marked. It makes sense once you are there. We will definitely be back.
What a stunningly beautiful place! Us and friends (12 altogether) stayed here for a week in July 2016. I selected this place without input from my friends and so was really pleased when my friends were astounded by how beautiful it was. The house had so much space (much bigger than it looks in the photos), very comfortable bedrooms and so many great social family areas to relax in. It had the perfect farmhouse kitchen for a large group! We had other friends for dinner one night and comfortably cooked in the lovely kitchen and ate outdoors - all 22 of us! The outdoor area is gorgeous, pool immaculate and views superb. You have both of best worlds here as although we visited in the busy tourist season and were only a few minutes walk from Gaiole in Chianti, the location and house was so quiet and peaceful there. We had excellent communication with the owner and great local support for any questions we had while we were there. The only regret was that we did not stay longer! We all agreed we should have stayed for at least 2 weeks minimum! Thanks so much for letting us stay in this lovely family home!!
San Piero Terre offers the most authentic Italian family holiday experience. We love this 100 years old farm and we have made it as homely and comforting as possible. The house was built at the beginning of last century by the Ricasoli family, the largest landowners in Chianti, for the farmers who worked their land. The large paved area between the house and the barn was the farmyard and you can still see the ancient bread oven at the entrance of the house. We were keen for it to have the flavour of a Tuscan house so we decorated in a traditional countryside style.
We have enjoyed great time here and the garden and villa are the backdrop of very fond family memories bathed in the special golden evening light that is so peculiar to this area of Italy. The house has thick walls that keep it fresh in the summer, and in the afternoon a pleasant breeze and the shade of the huge oak tree offer a respite from the Italian summer. The water of the swimming pool comes from a nearby well so it's also always nice and cool. Perfect for large groups, the villa will comfortably accommodate two or even three families with children, and there is always a quiet spot for everyone to relax. We start our day with a nice breakfast in the kitchen and often walk to Gaiole for a further coffee in one of the several cafes followed by some shopping. The Macelleria Chini is a nationwide renowned butcher that sells unique pork meat, hams and sausages. Fresh vegetables can be found at the Coop and Lo Sfizio is an excellent patisserie. You can taste and buy great Chianti wines directly from the best local producers. Back home, we always have lunch and dinner outside: bruschetta roasted on the open fire in the kitchen or on the Weber BBQ is a regular feature but you can always book a chef to cook a special meal. Even after almost fifty years holidaying here, we never tire of exploring surroundings: castles and wineries, local restaurants, pictoresque villages, cities full of art and also designer outlets.
All of Tuscany is beautiful, however Gaiole in Chianti is right at the heart of the Chianti region and has even been indicated by Forbes as the most Idyllic places in Europe. In San Piero Terre you can alternate relaxing time by the pool enjoying food and wine with more active days. In the village you can rent MTB or electric bikes, and there are also several marked trekking routes.
San Piero Terre is ideally located for the famous Eroica, the challenging cycling race reserved for vintage cycles that takes place every October. The villa is only a few hundred meters from the starting line and the information centre. We can provide our guests with basic cycle maintenance kit.
