This apartment is in a very attractive building, in beautiful surroundings and in a very convenient location. Peter and Sue were very attentive and friendly hosts and made us feel very welcome. The apartment itself was exactly as shown on the website, and despite the cold weather while we were there, we were pleasantly surprised by how nice and warm the apartment was. It was clean and well stocked, and has a great boulangerie/patisserie just across the road. Pons is very pretty and is is very well located for access to the coast, to Saintes and Cognac and other beautiful towns, and also has great access to the motorway for visits to Bordeaux and other areas further afield.
We would definitely recommend this apartment for a self catering break as a base for exploring the area.
We fell in love with the property as soon as we walked into it for the first time. The previous owners had created lovely rooms all with a different "feel" to them and this, combined with the house being situated right on the river and in a small town with all the amenities needed for a relaxed and easy way of life, made it perfect.
The house is in a small town, so you can park the car and actually walk to local amenities, with some good bars and restaurants all within walking distance. The town is situated just off the A10 and within 30 minutes of the coast and some amazing beaches. PONS has a train station so if you didn't want to take the hours drive to Boudreaux or La Rochelle let the train take the stain.
