What a lovely place to stay, so relaxing, clean and comfortable! Very convenient to explore the lovely sites of Northumberland, we visited Bamburgh, Beadnell & Seahouses all are just down the road, ideal base for exploring, we loved relaxing in the conservatory and watching the animals in the paddock opposite, we loved the cottage and the area and would love to visit again
This is a lovely little cottage in a quiet hamlet within a short drive of Bamburgh, along the scenic coast road. We had one question for the host during our stay, and she responded almost instantly. The cottage was clean and well furnished and we quickly felt at home. When we next visit Northumberland we will definitely check if it's free.
A lovely setting overlooking the Waren Burn and fields beyond. A pretty garden for relaxing in the sunshine. The cottage is very comfortable with quality furniture and a well equipped kitchen. We had a wonderful holiday, Gill provided lots of good information about things to do and places to eat. We thoroughly recommend this cottage.
What an absolutes fantastic place! A beautiful property with a high standard of utilities throughout the house made this a very easy place to enjoy, for sure.Initially, we had a little difficulty finding the cotrage eithin the hamlet, as it was tucked away in what we assumed was a private drive to another property - if you use the What3Words location - encodes.grapevine.galaxy - this will take you to the front door ;)The garden is stunning. Looking out onto the small river and fields makes it a lovely place to relax. Gill also allowed the barbecue in the shed to be used also, which was a great bonus.Overall we absolutely lived our stay. So much so, that we had tears from our youngest as she didnt want to leave lol
Really enjoyed our stay at Millstone cottage. The accommodation is beautiful with everything you need and so comfy and clean. We felt really at home straight away. Area great for visiting, with lots of castles and attractions nearby. We went to Bamburgh, Alnwick and Warkworth castles - all great. Also visited the Etal and Ford area - lots to see and do. Caught the train to Edinburgh one day, leaving from Berwick the trains run regularly. Final day at the beach near Seahouses rounded the week off and we even saw seals and dolphins out towards the Farne islands. Brilliant.
The cottage was great, directions were spot on. It was in a great area, located nicely between Bambugh and Alnwick. They provided us with some great recommendations to eat at and the conservatory was a great place to sit and enjoy the scenery.
A perfect stay at Millstone Cottage for my husband and me. Loved the conservatory. Cottage had everything we needed and instructions were very helpful.Great proximity to the coastal walks we wanted to do. Great to have ordinance maps of the area to use. The amazing weather helped.
Had 2 weeks at this cottage, located in a good area for exploring alot to do not very far away.
Nice & clean with everything you need, good conservatory & garden area, we would stay again.
Beautiful place very quiet there's many places to visit not to far away the cottage is very well equipped everything you need I have no complaints would definitely stay again
Excellent holiday house in great Location, very clean and comfortable with lovely conservatory and overlooking the burn. Would be happy to recommend.
Also great for bird watching only five minute walk to Budle bay.
Beautiful, and a lovely home from home, with everything you need while you're away. This was our first time in Northumberland for us, and we'll certainly hope to stay here again, possibly next year, to explore more of the area đ
Very warm and welcoming cottage. All home comforts provided.
Stayed for 3 nights over bank holiday weekend. Lovely cottage very comfortable. Outside space great and enjoyed looking at the wildlife. Good location for visiting Bamburgh and seahouses
Great cottage, great location. We stayed here in the Autumn which was nice but would love to stay here in Spring/Summer so we could make use of the lovely outdoor area over looking the small Waren Burn river.
Had a very relaxing few days at this cottage, it is so peaceful & yet close to all tourist sites. The bottle of Prosecco on arrival was very nice. Excellent host, would definitely stay here again & would highly recommend.
Blown away how lovely this cottage was.
We all loved staying there. Loved the garden. My daughter loved sitting in the conservatory reading.
Great location to visit places. We did holy island, Bamburgh, Alnwick, Wooler,Berwick upon tweed and Edinburgh.
Brilliant week . Highly recommended.
We would love to come back and stay again.
Very comfortable, well maintained and equipped to a high standard. Real bonus to have the conservatory and decking with a river running past the garden. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay thank you.
If you want to unwind, this is the place for you. Holy Island and Bamburgh Castle only a short drive away. Enough food options in area if you don't fancy cooking. We went to Edinburgh on train from Berwick as we thought it was going to be a wet day, it didn't rain so bunus!!
We really enjoyed our stay. Gills property suited our needs perfectly. Lovely quiet area perfect base for golf, walking, beaches, eating out etc. Friendly and helpful neighbours. Property well laid out and had everything we needed. I wouldnât hesitate to book again when we return to Northumberland.
Very relaxing place to stay, wonderfully quiet, no traffic! Decking on riverside, looking out onto fields, sheep, hens etc. Good location for getting around. 20 min drive into Berwick, train to Edinburgh only 45 mins, great scenic train journey! Cottage really comfortable!
We are Gill and Gordon. Our beautiful cottage has been in our family for the past 19 years and we have enjoyed holidaying every year with our kids at this magical place on the Northumbrian Coast.
We have family connections in Northumberland so this has been an ideal base for visiting family while enjoying a relaxing holiday in the most beautiful surroundings. We love the rural setting but also enjoy being close enough to the surrounding towns and villages where we can appreciate good food, the stunning coastline and also the history which Northumberland is famous for from the story of Grace Darling, to the monks of Lindisfarne and onto the spectacular Bamburgh Castle which you can't fail to be impressed by. We love to walk whether it be along the beach, or further inland to the crags above Belford, St Cuthberts cave or the beautiful Langleeford just outside Wooler and all within a 20 minute drive from our cottage.
Millstone cottage is set within a small hamlet, there is private parking, a beautiful flowing burn which runs past the back garden and from where you can enjoy a spot of fishing and here is where you may also spot the spectacular Kingfisher. We are located on Budle Bay which is a very popular spot for bird watchers and from here you can begin your walk along the coastline which will take you to Bamburgh then onto Seahouses
