We had a nice time. We were met by Marie who showed us around. The property is accurately pictured. We didnât stay long enough to use all of what was there but wished we could have spent more time there.
Francine was very friendly and helpful. Location is fantastic. Great space for our family. Be prepared to communicate you are the renters and your arrival time to Marie in French or to Francine in English/French.
This is a lovely older home, starting to show some wear. But with that said, I would stay there again. They had all the basic amenities you could need, the beds were comfy, and our family had plenty of space to stretch out in.
The home had everything you would need and is a great location! Close driving trip to visit the historic landing beaches, and short walk down the waterfront path to the local restaurants and shops. The ease of check-in and out was superb - we had a wonderful stay!
We liked this place; and the owner Francine and her husband were truly nice people. There is plenty of room for more people than just a couple. The house was very clean. The kitchen was adequate and so were the bathroom facilities. Private parking is available within the gated lawn fence. The house is only 1 short block from the ocean and about 1 mile from stores. A really nice place to stay! The only drawback was that we could not get theIr Wi-Fi to work at any time.
This home is steps away from the beach and survived DDay to stand proudly in the charming village of Luc Sur Mer. It is a great place to use as a home base for visiting the landing beaches, museums and monuments. It's nice to have room to spread out after a day of driving and walking. Mme. Le Boucher is very sweet and was very accommodating of this American's broken French. Beds are comfortable, good shower and great kitchen with laundry facilities.
We could have used more kitchen towels and napkins but other than that the kitchen is really well stocked!
I loved the home and I want to return with my husband. This time I visited with my daughters. Highly recommend this home!
Spacious rental sufficient for 4 adults. Make sure to get the actual address from the owner!! The pin drop on the reservation confirmation will NOT lead you to the house at all. Basic kitchen supplies provided. Close to the beach and close to D-Day Beaches. Only a couple restaurants in Luc-Sur-Mer but easy to buy groceries and cook at the house. Maison DuPont Boulangerie recommended in town.
This house is a piece of Normandy history. It was built in the late 1800's and survived through D-Day. The house is clean and simple, with modern amenities. The very nice couple who owns it lives upstairs with a separate entrance, and the we had the entire downstairs. We rented a car in Caen and took the 35 min drive to stay here. Great restaurants nearby and the beach was a stones throw away. I wish my French was better, I would love to sit and have coffee with the owners to learn more about the area.
