The home is located in a quiet community, but easily accessible to South Lake Tahoe. Our dog thoroughly enjoyed the large fenced backyard and walking trails that begin across the street from the home. Kiva Beach was also a great (free) dog friendly beach that was good for humans too.The accommodations and beds were comfortable. Property owner effectively communicated with me before our stay and the large living room (with couches and lounge chairs) was welcomed after a busy day exploring Lake Tahoe.
We had a very relaxing time. Quiet neighborhood with lots of trails within walking/short driving distance. The house was sufficient for two adults and a dog, and could easily house a couple more adults or four if they donât mind sleeping in bunk beds :) The house is on the older side but we still had a great time. The dog absolutely loved the fenced in yard and had a blast playing with all the pinecones in it. Weâd definitely comeback.
We love this place. Itâs fairly small but perfect for us. The fenced backyard is great for the dogs. We especially love the nearby trails for hiking. The kitchen has everything we needed for a thanksgiving meal
The views are spectacular. There is very little to no vehicle traffic on the street. Very large fenced-in backyard. Nice open space directly across the street for hiking with dogs. Open floor plan for foyer/living/kitchen space. New appliances. Big back deck with BBQ grill. Loved it!
First time in Tahoe. Very impressed with the beauty of it, peaceful and quiet. Went for son's wedding, and we were perfectly placed, only 15 minutes from the venue. Stores and restaurants close by. For us, it really was the perfect stay.
Exaclty what I expected from a summer mini-vacay in Tahoe. House isn't new but it's comfortable and suits the "terroir" of the area. Fenced backyard was amazing - large and fun for the puppies. We have a decent-sized backyard but this was a new exeperience for our dogs (two mini pinschers) - they've never had this much space to roam in. Omce they got used to the freedom, they were bounding all over the yard, sampling all the Tahoe smells and being dorks. Watching them from the deck was a joy.Location away from Casino Land and 3ish miles from Taylor Creek and Camp Richardson was ideal. Plenty of space outside the home to just wander and lose yourself (metaphysically) in Lake Tahoe, which I consider the most beautiful summer location on the planet.
Cozy, close to everything you want to do in Tahoe. Beautiful neighborhood and well-maintained home. Owner answered questions right away. Away from the main highway which allows for quiet and cozy nights. Great place to stay!
as advertised. clean, convenient. it snowed one night, and the driveway was ploughed for us next morning. thank you! about a 20 minute drive to sierra at tahoe, and 6 minutes to raley's. thank you!
This property is a good place. It is clean and easy to access. The rooms are ok, the kitchen has the basics, and the yard is large and enclosed (if you have a dog).
Nothing fancy, but a great location, and well appointed home. Fully fenced backyard was superb for our small dog, and we love the forest across the street!
We had amazing time at this property. It was perfect for our family vacation (5) with 2 little children. The check in and check out process was easy and the owner was very responsive to our inquiries. The backyard was huge and it was close to stores. The kitchen had all the basic supplies you need and the house was very clean. I would definitely recommend this property and would book again.
There were positives such as a nice deck , fenced backyard, new appliances, and new kitchen counter tops. The toilet and shower were clean but the bathroom floors had quite a bit of dirt in all corners. The beds were comfortable but everything seemed quite worn especially the living room furniture, bath towels and bedding. The bathroom door wouldnât stay closed and the shower head was intense and hurt. The price was low compared to many other properties in the area probably due to the rustic condition of the home. I would give this VRBO a C-.
We really enjoyed our stay at this rental property over Memorial Day weekend. The check in/out process was super easy. The home was clean, comfortable, and cozy. The yard is huge and has a great deck for relaxing with a BBQ. Our child and dogs enjoyed running around the yard. We enjoyed site seeing and walking around a local park/lake. The property was right outside town and close enough to access resturants and shops. We definitely plan to return to try more restaurants in the future and would certainly stay at this home again. I noticed some reviews said there was no dishwasher but that's inaccurate. All the kitchen applicances were brand new and clean! The linens and bath towels were all fluffy, clean, and new. Also, the house had great wifi service. Our only suggestion would be that they change the shower head. I love showers with pressure but the shower head couldn't be adjusted and if it hit certain body parts it would hurt. My recommendation would be to get an adjustable shower head. Besides that, we loved staying at this some and hope to return in the future- maybe next time in the winter so we can enjoy the snow. Thanks for letting us stay in your home! Our kid loved it so much he wanted to live in your home.
The owner is very prompt in returning any questions you may have. Steve has been wonderful in giving us all the information we needed while we stayed.
Our biggest issue with the property was the cleanliness. We came in from a 12 hour drive and we were exhausted. We had to clean the cabin before we could use it. It appeared as if no one cleaned it at all after the last people rented it (and yes we paid a hefty cleaning fee). When we entered the kitchen, the stovetop was dirty with dried food all over it and the floor had dirty paw prints with splatters of dirt all over as if someone's dog came in dirty and wet and shook themselves on the kitchen floor.
The countertop on the island was sticky from the last people who were there.
The brown cloth chair in the living room was gross. The arms looked as if someone let their dog drool all over it. We put towels on the chair while using it.
The master bed was so hard we didn't use it and the queen-sized bed in the room with the 2 bunks appeared to have dirty sheets so we had to spray and wash before we used the bed. There were food crumbs under the edge of the bed.
The rental was as described. This was a great place to stay with our poodle included. In fact she loves sitting right in front of the heater and cozying up!
Really enjoyed this stay -- close to everything Tahoe has to offer but in a quiet neighborhood away from the traffic & hubbub. Bonus: Great birdwatching out the back deck!
Steve, Victoria, their four kids and dog Latte live in the Bay Area. We enjoy skiing in the winter and decided to purchase a home in Tahoe when the kids got older so we can come up more often and stay comfortably. During the summer we enjoy hiking, biking and hanging out at the beach and skiing and snowshoeing during the winter.
We absolutely love it here and hope that you enjoy your stay in Tahoe!
House is ideally situated slightly outside the city limits close to nature yet just a short drive into town. There's so much to explore in South Lake Tahoe and the following are a few of our favorite spots: o Beach: Kiva Beach (6.4 mi) is a dog friendly beach just north of Camp Richardson. o Biking: Sawmill road (0.6 mi) contains a quiet and easy bike path from Sawmill Pond to Emerald Bay Road which is ideal for beginners or young children. o Grocery: Raley's (2.9 mi) o Hiking: Right outside our front door! o Movies: Heavenly Valley Cinema (7.7 mi) o Skiing: Squaw Valley (37.5 mi) is a scenic 1 hour drive up highway 89. We also like Sierra-at-Tahoe (12.1 mi) and their Unlimited Season pass is a great value for frequent skiers. o Shopping: The shops at Heavenly Village (7.6 mi)
