A fabulous place to stay. Location is very peaceful and relaxing. The barn has everything you could want to make your stay perfect. Lots of outside space to enjoy the sunshine ( which luckily we had plenty). Booking and communication with Andrew was excellent. I am sure we will return. Thank you Anstey Grove Barn.
Communication before arrival was excellent and the place was found easily with their directions. The barn comprises 6 bedrooms all opening off the large central space. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas and we all had space to relax and socialise. It was a great stay.
This was absolutely perfect for our friends annual get together! 11 of us descended on the Anstey Grove Barn for a weekend escape. The location was perfectly placed in the countryside with a short scenic walk (as recommended by our host) to the local pub; âThe Blind Fiddlerâ for Saturday lunch. A well equipped kitchen and utility was perfect for our cooking needs, with a large dining table seating all of us. Plenty of board games on hand and ample seating in the many sofas. Bedrooms were spacious and comfy and all with en-suites. The master bedroom with its four poster bed is highly recommended and a treat for one lucky couple; and that would be me as the organiser. We all had an amazing weekend only added to by the venue and a friendly and thoughtful host. Thank you.
The property was great - we all found the space was ideal for having a group gathering all to ourselves away from the city. The kitchen and common areas are spacious and ideal for large dinners and socializing. Each bedroom was en-suite, which is a very desirable feature for privacy. The host was accommodating and communicative. Overall we had a very good experience and would definitely return.
The accommodation with en-suites for every room was ideal for our family party along with the fabulous kitchen.
Pleasant walk to a play area and a few animals for the children to look at
Barn booked for a renuion of 11 friends from various parts of the country. Premise as described with plenty of room for us all both inside and out. Very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Great location with many walks and bike rides to explore the surrounding country side. Highly recommend.
We couldnât have had a better experience at Anstey Grove Barn. The property was stunning and spotless. Andrew was a lovely host; very helpful and replied almost immediately to my many questions. The location is beautiful, as are the gardens. Plenty of parking, well-equipped kitchen, everything we could have wanted for a weekend in the country. Weâd love to come back - thank you!
This was a great venue for a team of our work colleagues to get away from the day-to-day and focus on planning. Plenty of space and well-stocked with everything we needed.
This is such a superb property and is managed very well by the friendly and helpful host Andrew. Everything you could possibly need is provided. Highly recommended
Lovely barn, especially in the sunshine. The garden was great for the kids. Lots of space to enjoy and relax. The short walk into the village through woods and meadows is peaceful. The host is also really helpful and friendly.
We were three families staying with kids, and the barn was a good size for all of us to relax, both together and apart in individual rooms. The children loved the garden, the kitchen was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. The weather was even kind enough to enable us to go for a walk in the local woods. Would recommend for anyone wanting time away in the peace and quiet with friends or family!
Really enjoyed our stay here, great venue with plenty for space. Fully equipped kitchen to create our christmas dinner with all the trimmings. Great that all rooms had en suite so no fighting for the bathroom and for a large property there were no issues with being cold....was all very cosy. Overall rating is really 4.5 stars, literally the only thing which stopped a full 5/5 was the absence of TV/entertainment system in the living area. A fully equipped TV and speakers where we could all enjoy a film together, connect phone to or listen to music, play games through TV etc would have made this venue absolutely perfect. Needless to say the board games and jigsaw helped keep us entertained.
A fantastic venue and host would definitely recommend.
Anstey Grove Barn is a beautiful Barn in the middle of the countryside of Hertfordshire...
The only thing I would say is to travel up early in the winter as the lanes to the Barn are narrow ...
This weekend was our girl bonding weekend so the facilities suited our needs ...
I would recommend the Barn to groups as it is spacious and clean and It states âwhat itâs says on the Tinâ..
There are a number of walks nearby... which some of the group Adventure out on ...
The villagers are friendly and were helpful ... about the places of interest and other things relating to Barn...
A lovely đ Barn
Thank you Mr Marchant...
Peaceful retreat with all you need for a large party, bags of character with a huge, unique chimney breast and impressively high ceilings! Lovely comfy beds and tastefullinens, towels etc
This amazing property is set in beautiful countryside with all the facilities required for a relaxing break. Such a great place and Andrew was the perfect host. Thank you.
What a gorgeous barn!! My family and I had a wonderful time in Buntingford. Coming all the way from Melbourne, we absolutely loved the beautiful English countryside. With all the amenities you could need, and ensuites in every bedroom it made sharing a house with 10 people a dream :) The garden was perfect for a big bbq we had with some friends, the kitchen was well stocked with all cooking equiptment required. It was perfect - Thanks Andrew :)
Beautiful accommodation, very clean and lovely grounds.
I would definitely stay here again. The accommodation was ideal with an en-suite in every room. Suits a large group or family. The owners were very good wit communication too.
12 of us stayed in the Barn for a uni friends meet up. Coming from London, Bedford and Cambridge the Barn feels far more rural than the 30 minute travel time would suggest! Set in rolling countryside, The Barn is really well set up . 6 bedrooms, all with en-suite and a downstairs toilet means there's no scramble for the showers in the morning. The communal area is large, and it's great to be able to share space while not necessarily all doing the same thing (e.g reading on the sofas while using the table to play games). The kitchen is well equipped too, and plenty of surface space meant we could prepare meals for all of us with ease. And the weather held for a BBQ in the garden too. Thanks for a great weekend!
A stunning and very well designed barn conversion which facilitated a great occasion for our large family. The fixtures of the ensuite bedrooms were of the highest quality, and the living area was impressive, warm and festively decorated. The huge oven and very well stocked kitchen took the strain out of cooking the Xmas dinner!
Andrew, the host, was welcoming and helpful.
Stayed sunny July 2018. Lovely private gardens and lawn for children to play on while we had our BBQ and Pimms in the shady patio area.
What sets this house apart from most on the market is that every bedroom is ensuite, making it perfect for a group of friends or multiple families. Shower water pressure and temperature is excellent.
The barn has modern bathrooms and simply and beautifully decorated bedrooms. Beds are comfortable, and linens all high quality.
The owners are really lovely people and were just round the corner if we needed anything.
Itâs in peaceful countryside surrounded by fields and many country pubs just a short distance away. And a big plus for me - Ocado deliver here! Excellent stay.
Andrew and Alice have been at Anstey Grove Barn for over 40 years, raising a family and running a farm in the heart of rural Hertfordshire. In 1980 they bought a working pig farm with 20 acres of land and began to build a family home. Within months the house was built, and within years a broadleaf wood was planted and wildflower meadow cultivated that have now come to be protected by the Hertfordshire Wildlife Trust. The working pig farm has now gone, but the wood, meadows, flock of free range hens and horses remain. In 2004 Alice and Andrew decided to convert the large Barn at the heart of the farm and create high quality bed and breakfast accommodation. Their intention has always been to provide a homely base from which families, couples and those just passing through can enjoy
