This unique place has a style all of its own. No expense has been spared in lovingly restoring this 600 year old Manor house with local legend stating this was once owned by King Henry 8th, resided by Oliver Cromwell and tells of a secret tunnel leading from the basement to the Church. Designed and styled by a local interior designer, this versatile property oozing luxury is perfect for entertainment, people working away from home or a weekend retreat. Kids will love the wizard themed top floor.

Set in an extremely central location within the foothills of the biggest Church in Essex and within the heart of the historic medieval market town of Saffron Walden. Whether it is a 5 star restaurant or late night bar or family themed, kid friendly Wetherspoons, this town has it all, with over 2 dozen eat in or take outs on your doorstep. Famous for its country setting, long walks, nature reserves, adventure parks, in door plays, swimming baths, cobbled streets, listed buildings and so much more.

Calm, friendly and extremely safe. We also have extremely easy access to London via the M11 at just 7 minutes drive or Audley End Station arrives at Liverpool Street Station in under an hour. It's no surprise that this town is often referred to as "Essex's Best Kept Secret" and "The Jewel In Essex's Crown" and this exclusive Manor House is located right in the centre of it, or the doorstep of all of its amenities. What a treat to be able to walk to Costa or Starbucks in your sleepers to pick up your morning coffee.

There is a parking bay directly outside the house that has a free 3 hour limit during the day but is free all night from 5pm to 8am. If you would rather your car be parked securely the house comes with its own private detached garage located just a short 3 minute walk from the house. If more car spaces are required then Swan Meadow Car Park is also a short 4 minute walk from the house.

Wonderful For Family Celebration

We stayed with family and friends to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday. Everyone had an outstanding time. The children absolutely loved this house which had so much for them to do and enjoy. Would highly recommend.

Excellent property in excellent location!

Wonderful property. Beautifully restored with a Harry Potter twist. Saffron Walden was a revelation, with wonderful independent shops and a truly lovely Saturday market.

Super Family Adventure

Our whole family (ranging from 2 years - 75 years old) loved this quirky, interesting property. There really is something for everyone. The little ones loved ‘solving’ the clues to find the treasure and the cupboard under the stairs and the pool table and cinema room were a big hit. The house is beautifully decorated and very well equipped. Damian was very responsive to any messages we sent and there was plenty of information sent prior to our visit which helped us to make the most of our stay. I would not hesitate to highly recommend and would happily use this house again. It was wonderful.

Privet House is a home that will make you stop and stare. Renovated in 2022, this 600-year-old, Grade II listed manor house has been lovingly and sympathetically refurbished, bringing the character and the house to life! This is where memories are made. This house oozes luxury and it would be a perfect spot to celebrate with friends and family, excellent as an all-rounder for adults and children alike.
Located in the middle of the market town of Saffron Walden, beside the Church and on the High Street you will soon relish the fact that everything you could need for a holiday is at your fingertips. Step into the grand entrance hall, kick off your shoes and be instantly ‘wowed’ by what awaits you. From the huge fireplaces, the ornate coving and the stripped floorboards to the modern kitchen, fantastic outside living space, pizza oven and barbecue, to the hot tub and the Versace wallpapers – prepare to be inspired! The large living/sitting room is comfortably furnished with three large sofas. In here you’ve also got a flatscreen TV that benefits from Sky channels. Large and ornate dining room with huge Edwardian open fireplace, plenty of seating. The modern kitchen has all the luxuries you’ll need to make your stay awesome! Take your morning coffee outside to the enclosed courtyard garden and treat yourself to some peace and quiet whilst planning your adventurous day ahead.

Privet House is set in a stunning location and is only 1½ miles away from the stunning English Heritage Audley End House, as well as the mainline train station to London, Cambridge and Stansted Airport. This area of north Essex is famous for its country setting and is often referred to as ‘Essex’s Best Kept Secret’. You’ll be able to benefit from the castle garden and grounds, long walks, nature reserves, swimming baths, cobbled streets, listed buildings and architecture as well as much more. Do you want to get out and explore? A 25-minute drive will see you travel to Bishops Stortford, Stansted Mountfichet Castle or the glorious village green and duck pond at Finchingfield. A little further and you can be in Great Dunmow. The city of Cambridge can be easily reached being only 15 miles away.
