Lovely Ski Apartment by the River in Le Bettex near St Martin de Belleville
Charming, very well equipped and furnished 3 bedroom apartment with an en suite bathroom, a shower room and a separate WC. There is an open plan living area with a very comfortable L shaped sofa, dining area, flat screen wall-mounted TV, freesat, (UK and French) DVD, CD, I-pod/I-phone compatible sound system and Wi-Fi Internet. The 38 sq m decked S&W facing terrace has a table and chairs for alfresco dining and sun loungers and deck chairs for non skiers or relaxing apres ski. Situated on the raised ground floor of the chalet, there's also a ski and boot room with a private locker with a boot-drier for 6 plus pairs. We also have a personal parking space in the underground garage, linked by lift to the raised ground floor and the apartment. A 6 minute walk takes you to the chairlift. The apartment is labelled 'confort' 3 star and has been given the maximum 5 gold 'flocons' for charm by the Tourist Board. This is a strictly non smoking apartment and we do not permit pets.
last week (crocus holiday) we were guests in Caroline's beautiful apartment, it was wonderful. It started with the booking, everything went smoothly, clear information and good contact with Caroline. On arrival at the apartment, everything was clean and tidy, and it looked very neat, all very nice, spacious living room with complete kitchen, 2 bathrooms, spacious sun terrace, 2 spacious bedrooms and a small room with bunk beds, the only point of criticism is if If you are with 6 adults, the room with bunk beds is a bit crab, we enjoyed the well-kept apartment and had a wonderful week with perfect snow. Parking in the garage and in front of the door is ideal, about a 6-minute walk from the ski lift.
Caroline thank you for staying in your cozy and well-maintained apartment. Gr. Ad
This was our first ski trip to Europe after many years skiing in North America. We were looking for a similar apartment/condo for our stay and this property was ideal.
Our priorities were access to lifts, ease of access, room for Four adults with separate beds, cooking facilities ,dishwasher, washing machine and wi fi internet.
We decided to hire a car from Geneva Airport and I would suggest this is the best way to top up groceries from the main village, although we did ski back with top ups some days.
The car garage was convenient and the heated ski boot rack was a welcome comfort in the mornings.
The recommendations by Carolyn, our host, for both where to ski, eat and generally get around were very helpful.
We wholeheartedly recommend this property.
Four of us spent a great week at Carolineâs chalet. The chalet is a real home from home which provided a good base for a relaxing skiing holiday. the chairlift is about 300 metres walk away from which it is an easy run down to the lifts of Les Menuires, then the three valleys await and of course the fourth one as well. you can ski down from the Croisette area easily at the end of the day if you want to stop for apres or shopping.
The garage is spacious and easily fits a large car
The owner was super helpful for pre holiday advice and made us feel very welcome. A lovely place to stay
The apartment is very comfortable, well laid out and superbly equipped. Plenty of room for a family of 5. Lots of helpful information provided by the owner and many extras that we've had to pay for or bring in other properties - free wifi, linen, towels, kitchen stuff. Best of all boot warmers in the ski locker. It's in a quiet hamlet just below Les Menuires with a modern 4 man lift to the resort only a 6 minute walk away (or 1 minute drive with free parking & plenty of space by the lift).
This was our first trip to the 3 Valleys & the skiing was fantastic. We'll definitely return & I have no hesitation in recommending this apartment as a wonderful place to stay.
A lovely apartment in the village of Le Bettaix about a 5 to 10-minute walk with skis to a lift at the end of the village, which takes you a point that allows you to easily ski down to the main Les Menuires lift. This then provides easy access to the whole 3 valleys area. The apartment is well laid out and well equipped with everything that you may need for a self-catering stay. The heated beds were a very cosy touch! It was easily comfortable for a family of five, that included two 18-year-olds and a tall 14-year-old! A garage space is provided which makes a big difference when the weather is cold or snowing and if you don't want to walk and can carry skis there is parking next to the lift. Ski hire is available at an Intersport which we found to stay open late on Saturday. Lift passes can be purchased with a credit card in a hut adjacent to the lift with someone on had to provide guidance on Sundays. The apartments boot/ski room is on the same floor as the apartment and with a heated boot rack, we enjoyed toastie dry boots each morning! There is also a bird feeder adjacent to the main balcony and we enjoyed watching a variety of birds feed every morning and evening.
The owner Caroline provides a handy folder with details on everything relating to the apartment plus local restaurants and shopping etc. All communication with Caroline was excellent both before, during and after our stay and having stayed in Les Menuires many times before we found this to be one of the best apartments we have stayed in. Although not directly on the slopes everything is easy to reach and it's just our choice not to take the car out. I would have no hesitation recommending this apartment for either winter or summer use as it is a great place for a family stay.
The chalet was really charming and convenient with a lot of "home feeling". Kitchen is fully equipped including big freezer, beds were really comfortable, nice terrace... Garage In the cellar and elevator to the door. The slopes are at walking distance and there is a parking lot just beside if you want to be lazy. Caroline has great advice and descriptions summarized in a comprehensive guide. She was really responsive in the communication. We can really recommend this Chalet.
Thank you Caroline!

We had a great time in Le Bettaix. You are very close to the large resorts of Maribel, Les Menuires and Val Thorens but have the feel of a mountain village. The apartment is extremely well equipped with everything that you might want to find in your own kitchen. The lay-out is clever, comfortably furnished and cosy and warm. The underground garage is great - no de-icing or cold seats! I was very impressed with the thoughtfulness of the owner, Caroline who is quick to respond to any queries and really cares about whether everything is as it should be and that you enjoy your holiday. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property. Great value for money!

Lovely apartment - ideally located with easy access to Three Valleys ski area
The apartment is ideally placed for a ski holiday with easy access to the Three Valleys area, yet in a small French village. It is superbly equipped with everything you need for six people to be comfortable. The owner's attention to detail is very impressive and helped to make the holiday go smoothly. We would recommend it.
The details given about the chalet and the reviews are very accurate. This is a lovely chalet in a smaller, quieter village not far from Menuires. The chalet itself is well equipped and spacious generally, although the third bedroom with the bunk is not big. The balcony is large with a nice view over the stream below. The walk to the chair lift is fine although I did drive a couple of our group up there one day. Snow chains will be necessary if there is a reasonable fall as things can be more challenging once you come off the main road into Le Bettaix itself and particularly up the drive of the chalet. Due to the amount of traffic on our arrival day and the amount in our car we didn't get chance to shop in Moutiers/Albertville. This meant we were up and down to Menuires regularly but that was no problem. WiFi was invaluable for 4 students. We had a lovely stay here and I am happy to recommend it. Also Caroline was very helpful and friendly to deal with.
This is the most well equipped and best kept apartment we have stayed in in The French Alps. Caroline has thought of everything from a well equipped kitchen to a sofa that you can be comfortable on all evening. We loved watching the birds sitting on the feeder outside the lounge window and we slept peacefully without having late night home comers outside the bedroom window. The walk to the chairlift was manageable but we could easily have driven if we were feeling lazy. There are no local shops so you will need to bring all your food with you and go to Les Menuires for your ski passes before you arrive. We hope to return in the future and explore more of the 3 valleys.
This was without doubt the best skiing accommodation we have ever stayed in. The apartment was accurately described and well maintained with excellent facilities. No detail had been overlooked and for the first time ever..wonderfully comfortable beds (including electric blankets).
Le Bettaix is a lovely tranquil village well served by a 2 seat chairlift which allowed easy access to Les Menuires. The lift closes at 4:30 in January and on twoi evenings we went up as foot passengers involving a 5 minute walk to Les Menuires which had fantastic shops and very reasonably priced restaurants. The return trip was a pleasant downhill stroll along the piste.
We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Caroline's apartment and would happily use it again.

I am a recently retired professional and have loved skiing since I first tried it 45 years ago. I bought the apartment 17 years ago and spend a large part of each season in Le Bettaix with friends and family. The apartment is my second home, not a business. I only want to cover costs and rent out for a maximum 5 or 6 weeks per season so hope it makes for a really comfortable and user friendly ski apartment.
I wanted to buy somewhere in the mountains for years. I was aiming high, in area, altitude and quality. Le Bettex ticks all the boxes. It's part of the 3 Valleys 600+kms of skiing. I can be in Courchevel before 1100 for coffee starting at the local chair and I can ski home to Le Bettex from the top of Val Thorens (admittedly taking in a bit of cross country track) without using a lift. The apartment is perfectly situated. Le Bettex is a beautiful little village and we have marvellous, uninterrupted views of the mountains. I love the tranquility. There are no enthusiastic kids coming back from the clubs at 0400, no deliveries or through traffic. I always put up a bird feeder, visible from the sitting room and get immense pleasure watching the various birds morning and evening, including a very shy greater spotted woodpecker.
My apartment is not typical of French ski apartments. It is really comfortably and fully furnished with paintings on the walls and lined curtains. There are no sofa beds and we have high quality mattresses and bedding, with duvets, two pillows per person and electric under blankets. There is wardrobe space with plenty of hangers and ample storage in all the bedrooms - even the bunk-room which is very snug. There is access to English television channels as well as the French, a DVD player, free Wi-Fi internet and an I-Pod/I-phone compatible sound system. There is a library of English books and a few board games and cards, although I may remove some items to make for easier Covid cleaning. The kitchen is fully equipped ( food processor, pressure cooker, casseroles ) unlike the bare minimum found in most rental apartments. Apart from the fridge with freezer compartment, there is an upright freezer which is great for your weekâs supplies. You should find everything you need, so you can cook as you do at home.
