Blauvac is a hilltop village with stunning views north to the Mont Ventoux; and wooded hills and vineyards all around. The upstairs bedroom and its terrace has spectacular views - to be fought over. Beautiful views over the garden and pool and far beyond. The property is cared for by the obliging Hubert; though you have to get used to his Provencal accent.
The interior is spacious, very clean and comfortable with elegant furniture and decor. There is the full range of domestic equipment, including no less than 3 fridges. The listing descriptions were accurate; and Serena and Simon were most helpful if we had any queries while there.
Within easy range are fascinating places to visit - the large weekly market at Bedoin, the Nesque gorge with Monnieux at its head, with a nice restaurant, the hill town of Venasque with its excellent restaurant, Les Remparts, the stately hill town of Gordes, the mediaeval town of Pernes les Fontaines, the peaceful monastery of Senanque and much else.
There are convenient shops and services at nearby Mazan. Blauvac has its own small restaurant within walking distance, La Calade, with a good new chef. You don't need to drive back afterwards.
We spent so much time enjoying ourselves that we never unpacked our jigsaw puzzles. A wonderful stay. We would warmly recommend La Roque.
