We had been looking forward to this little break in Yorkshire especially as TheThreshing Barn looks so gorgeous. Unfortunately we had to cancel with about a week to go as our dog became very unwell and needed urgent treatment. Andrew and Kate were very sympathetic. We hope to be able to stay at The Threshing Barn next year. Fingers crossed!
Amazing bolt hole for our weekend away, very well equipped, lovely decorative touches all over, so peaceful a perfect place to detox from everyday life. Highly recommend.
We were very well looked after in this lovely peaceful barn and yet we were only a very short distance from Harrogate centre. It suited our requirements perfectly.
Stunning, well established conversion property. Spacious lounge and mezzanine level bedroom and bathroom. Lovely outdoor spaces.
We would like to thank Kate and Andy for their kind hospitality, welcoming wine and fridge provisions and Andy's batch beer in the big barn. Thank you.
Hope to return some day.

Great experience from beginning to end, well equipped comfortable and relaxing accommodation. Excellent hosts, ideal location walking distance to lovely hostelries and a branch of the world famous Betty's.
An amazing stay in a beautiful location. Cosy and comfortable, friendly and warm host, this was our perfect getaway. A couple of miles outside Harrogate but in a quiet rural location with sheep in fields and a lovely characteristic farm setting. The best of Yorkshire, looking forward to staying here again in the winter. Very highly recommended.
A lovely property, well furnished and exceptionally well equipped. Very nice extra features including flowers, sweets, wine and teas & coffee. Hope to be able to visit when we next come to this area. Kate was an excellent host. Location very good for Harrogate and local attractions.
Mrs Scott was very welcoming with the barn well heated on arrival. Itâs a spacious barn set amid a quiet rural and yet accessible location to Harrogate. It was clean throughout with good linen and towels. The separate kitchen was equipped and overall I loved the retro decor. Plenty of parking under cover of a barn. Mrs Scott went out of her way to return an item I had left behind which I appreciated and she was on hand nearby but not intrusive. Only wish I had more time to explore the Dales.
I had an amazing time, the property is kept in immaculate condition the the host are extremely welcoming . The plus side is they are also a dog friendly stay & so you are able to take your furry friend. / companion with you. If you are someone who like to explore then this is somewhere for you, you are surrounded by beautiful fields and livestock. You have the option to walk into Harrogate if you want to. It was a great stay and would go back again tomorrow
We had a very enjoyable week staying at the Threshing Barn, Kate and Andrew were wonderful hosts. Harrogate is a short drive, or brisk walk away. The local pub the Smiths Arms is well worth a visit, and great value for money. We used the property as a place to explore North Yorkshire on bicycles, but would be equally suitable for walkers or general sightseeing. I'm sure we will visit again...
Lovely property in a great countryside location, only a short drive from Harrogate town centre, this barn conversion is an extremely comfortable stay.
We will be looking to stay here every time we are sightseeing in the area. Thank you Kate for the welcome, the little touches, and for what was a very enjoyable stay.
A lovely holiday let in a very quiet rural location, yet very handy for Harrogate & Knaresborough. Very clean and beautifully furnished with the benefit of being able to take "mans best friend" with us and walk him over adjacent fields. Will certainly be back next time we're in the area.
Perfectly snowy. Kate was welcoming and friendly. We loved are stay. Painted acrylic and water colour for four days and had many snowy walks with Molly the dog. David attended his conference and enjoyed returning to the Threshing Barn each evening.
We only stayed a couple of days but it was perfect for our requirements at the time. Will definitely keep it in mind for future when we can be a bit more relaxed! Thanks so much.
We thank Kate & Andrew, for a very warm welcome in there wonderfull barn. Very clean and cosy.
Perfect position for Harogate and walking in the dales no where is very far from the barn.
Great pub only a short walk away. will certainly stay again.
A word of thanks to Andy and Kate for having us at their delightful barn conversion. The barn was just perfect for the two of us and excellent value for money. It was cosy and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet of the countryside - the added bonus was being so close to Harrogate and all that it provides. Would definitely return and recommend.

Kate is a Special needs teacher and I am an Engineering officer in the Merchant navy. My wife and I own Emcee, in Barbados and The Old Barn annex in Beckwithshaw, Harrogate. Both homes are very dear to us and guests have commented on how welcome they were made to feel in the home from home atmosphere in both properties. Indeed, we aim to offer our guests as much care as possible during their stays in warm and friendly environments. We have travelled quite a bit and stayed in many self-catering villas, both home and away and so have gleened from this what we all need during our breaks from reality. We hope you have an enjoyable and pleasant vacation wherever you decide to book. All the best. Andrew Scott.
The "Threshing Barn" is an annex of our own home which we converted in 1999. It is a wonderful, rural location, but close to the town of Harrogate and a number of rural pubs and restaurants. Probably, a 40 minute walk into town, or a 10 minute car ride.
Judging by comments we have received, our guests have enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the countryside, coupled with the close proximity to Harrogate. We feel that the space which is offered, is by far in excess of a standard B&B, or city hotel. We are close by you if you require any assistance, or ideas, yet there is plenty room for you to have a private stay, rest, even BBQ. Walks down the field to the beck where you may be lucky enough to see the deer and meet the lambs, during lambing season. The barn where we park the cars, is also home for our resident owls. Pheasants roam around in the fields and during the appropriate season, you will hear the curlews morning and evening. Our local, village pub has a garden area and is a short walk from us along the footpath, or even shorter still, across the field.
