The cottage is beautiful. It successfully blends the character of the cottage with the modern facilities that make the stay extremely comfortable!
We loved that the cottage is still set up as a home which helps it to maintain its character.
The location of the cottage is perfect for easy access to St Davids and for the local area.
The parking was not an issue for us (and we had 2 cars for a few days) although the charges in the car park over the road have increased from those quoted on the cottage details.
It is a pretty cottage in an excellent location. We did think that it needed a refurb in terms of furniture ,particularly in the lounge which is a little too quirky, particularly the sofas which felt damp and a bit grubby. The horses head skeleton on the landing is very unnerving for children (and some adults too).If you are looking for prime location with a lovely garden it will suit but the decor and furniture
might not !
We had the pleasure of staying at this lovely cottage in St David's last week, and it was an absolute delight! Nestled conveniently across from the car park, the location couldn't have been betterâeverything we wanted to explore was just a stone's throw away (The car park sells weekly tickets, which worked well for us).
The cottage itself was a dream. It offered all the comforts and conveniences we could possibly need, paired with ample space that made our stay both comfortable and relaxing. The interior brims with character, adding to the overall experience of our stay.
We're already looking forward to our next visit. For anyone seeking a perfect blend of convenience, comfort, and charm, this cottage in St David's is a fantastic choice. We will definitely be staying here again!
This is an absolutely lovely place to stay, extremely quirky with lots of character in the most peaceful setting, but in easily walkable distance to all the shops & places to eat & drink in St David's. The garden was a safe haven for our little dog & we went to sleep with just the sound of birds & the cathedral bells. We did manage to find free parking every day, but not always that close to the cottage, which wasn't ideal & my husband really struggled with the low beams & constantly banging his head. But, all in all this really is a special little cottage to stay in & we loved it.
The cottage is very well equipped. It is very close to the centre of St Davids and just a couple of minutes from the cathedral. We (two couples) had a great weekend, enjoying the peace and quiet
The Cottage is Great location, close to all the facilities in St Davids, you cannot get much closer. Lots of room in the Cottage and a lovely garden which enhanced our stay. We would like to come back sometime in the future
We stayed at Yewdale Cottage which was fantastic, the location was nice and quiet with walking distance to the town, the cottage it self was full of character. on arrival the cottage was spotless clean with all the amenities for your stay. we were blessed with the beautiful weather which we took advantage of the garden for some lunch in the sun. I would highly recommend this cottage as it caters for everyone.
We have been staying in self catering properties all over the U.K.for over 30yrs,including several in St Davids.
This property is the best we have stayed in.
It is a fascinating old building, furnished to suit.
The bathrooms and kitchen are modern and well equipped.
The position is central but quiet and peaceful.
The icing on the cake is the secluded garden,so rare in self catering properties.
Obviously there were a few minor negatives,eg lights that didnât work and rather jaded seating in living room, but the positives of this cottage far outweigh any of these.
The heating was very good always plenty of hot water too..
The house was very clean on arrival and for their the cleaner is to be congratulated as old houses arenât the easiest to maintain.
Will definitely book again.
Lovely characterful cottage, in a quiet location, in the centre of town.
The cottage and its garden were delightful. Only had to pay for one day's parking in the public car park as we managed to park on road for free the rest of the time. The upstairs bedrooms were comfortable and plenty of storage for clothes. Great pillows too! It's a very homely cottage with centuries of character, but modern touches. Very well equipped kitchen. Amazing views of Carn Llidi from the beautiful upstairs windows, and views of the Cathedral tower from the tranquil, private garden. Such a quiet location too - just yards from the main road through the city, but the only sounds were the Cathedral bells and the rooks at dusk.
The property is ideally located within St. David's; has both a well equipped & modernised kitchen; similarly bathroom,(with excellent water pressure for the shower), and toilet and comfortable beds. An added bonus is a good sized secluded garden, with table/chairs/ bench seats, (and small barbecue), which given the current good weather, was a valued additional facility.
An excellent holiday cottage.
We had a wonderful few days in Yewdale cottage . It had everything we needed and was lovely. The area is beautiful and the cottage very convenient for restaurants in the town, no need for the car!
Only thing I would say is that if you are tall the low beams may give you a few bumps!
Highly recommend the cottage .
The cottage was a lovely traditional cottage in a great location but unfortunately the standard of the cleaning was very poor which even resulted in me taking photos and sending them to the owner. The owner has stated it's a temporary issue with the cleaner so hopefully future guests shouldn't have this issue.
A lovely cosy cottage located close to the cathedral, restaurants and shops in St David's.Lovely welcome tray. Well equipped, clean and very comfortable beds. A lovely weekend in a querky Welsh cottage.
Great little cottage as a base for walking some stretches of the Wales coastal path. We managed 3 stretches and managed to make them circular using some of the very empty B roads. Cottage was great for the dog, nice size garden and very secure, so no worries about escaping dog.
We had the most wonderful stay. The second time we have stayed at Yewdale. Made more magical due us getting married in Haverfordwest with our precious children with us to share both the beautiful cottage and our big day.
Plus, spending New Year in this wonderful place. There is no better way or place to bring in the New Year.
Truly wonderful and enjoyable stay and we will come back for a third time.
Janet's family come from St. David's and this is very much a family home. David is a market gardener and artist and Janet is a translator/teacher. We have three sons and three Jack Russells, so are very happy for you to bring your dogs. We all enjoy the walking, cycling, swimming, surfing and coasteering and the many other pleasures Pembrokeshire has to offer. We love music and the choral music in the Cathedral is sublime. There are also frequent concerts and annual music festivals in St. David's and Fishguard.
We like being right in St. David's, just above the Cathedral and close to some wonderful eateries. We can walk to Whitesands, our favourite beach, in under half an hour and the delightful sandy cove of Caerfai is less than a mile away. Access to the actual coastal path at St. Non's is even closer. The peninsular is criss-crossed with quiet minor roads which are perfect for safe cycling.
