Don't be fooled by Martin's review!
We continually strive to create that perfect 'villa holiday' experience for our guests. From our side, we do our best to make sure everything is perfect, taking great care to provide a villa with the highest standards in such a fabulous location. We have been renting our villa for about 15 years - and have over 55 '5 star' reviews - and the 5 subsequent guests after your stay also awarded us 5 star reviews. We have NEVER had a guest, (together with his wife + children), behave or act in the bizarre way you chose to, which was both shocking and disturbing, and yet made us all the more grateful to all the wonderful guests we've welcomed over the years, with many returnees. We realised within the first few minutes of their arrival at our villa that these guests were unlike any other guests we've ever had Their complaints, negative attitude, bad mood, strange facial grimaces just after entering our villa, made us realise they wished they had never embarked on a 3 week holiday ANYWHERE together. We understood this hostility and offered them a refund if they wanted to vacate the villa. They refused because they wanted a discount only. To clarify their complaints:(1) Our villa is literally nestled in a hillside with amazing sea views from all rooms and spaces! (2)the photos of our villa don't actually do the villa justice. We have been told this time and time again. (3) The brown tarpaulin screen, which was only erected around part of the left side of the pool, (and not blocking any sea views), was initially put up for privacy until the new trees had grown up tall enough. We offered to Martin to take this down, but he said he preferred it to stay up! We have since removed this, as the trees have grown up beautifully. (4)The allegation of a 'puppy farm' bordering our property is an absurd lie. There were 2 dogs in a shelter about 200m away from our villa, both of which my husband, Nicos, arranged to have removed the 3rd day after their arrival. (5)Another lie is Martin's claim that there is a house under construction nearby. There is 1 elderly couple living to the left, as you face the sea, with a beautiful mountain area to the right. The bungalow Martin is referring to was completed over the winter of last year - and is about 200m away from our villa. See google map. (6) THERE ARE NO CCTV CAMERAS OVERLOOKING any communal area - and definitely not around the pool. This is an absurd and libelous allegation to make. The security company we work with has provided a letter of confirmation to our lawyers about this serious allegation. We are professional people. We tell all our guests these cameras are there for security - and show our guests how to turn them off, if they prefer, (one switch). Some do. Martin's wife chose not to.
Still, no pool or private areas are filmed! (7)The story about the cracked tiles, the scalding risk with the tap mixers, the old showers, the creaking bed are ALL LIES. In particular, all our guests tell us how wonderfully comfortable our master bed is. It's a high quality mattress: Slumberland.
At this point I would like to mention that Martin had a fierce argument with our one and only elderly neighbour, the day after his arrival. He accused him of secretly listening to his conversations., when he was just pruning his tree in HIS garden, (my husband went there). He also went to a far distant neighbour's house, about 200m away, marching through his gate, into his land, to have a massive argument with him aswell.
We were constantly harassed and bullied by Martin and his wife, sending me non urgent voice messages at 10pm, 12am and at 2am on many occasions. Their incessant, unreasonable and bullying tactics were extremely inappropriate. They created a bad atmosphere with our neighbours, and broke the outside pool light, necessitating for THE FIRST TIME for me to charge a guest from their deposit - AND, they damaged the pool lining. Such malice is so misplaced. Reviews should be fair, representative and geared towards providing truthful information to potential guests, not trying to sabotage an owner because you did not achieve the discount you so desired
