This unit was exactly as described! It was perfect for one person and delivered on the excellent location both to the beach and restaurants, shops, and bars.
I would recommend bringing your own flatware and a full length mirror between the frig and bed would be nice.
The only issue I had was resolved. I would go back to stay again!
The room or little house was perfect for me. The location to the beach and food was perfect. Jenny was super helpful. The cabana was cute and a wonderful place to hang out. I will be back. I would rather have a direct conversation than going through Verbo because the platform isnât the easiest to work with but it was difficult enough to take away from the great experience.
The location is great- close to everything. The place got the job done, but donât expect any bells and whistles. Iâd suggest a full length mirror and maybe a small/half ironing board. The downfall of staying here vs other condo complexes is the parking. The few times i have stayed on the island, it was available and included. The security is also somewhat questionable as a single female traveling solo. The space isnât located inside the inn per se- itâs basically a little shed on the innâs property tucked away underneath some stairs. All in all- not terrible, but not over the top.
The early problems were probably my fault. I had no idea that I would get my 4 numbers in an email an hour prior to check in. When I arrived, were it not for guest, I would not have gotten in. Then I had no idea that a parking pass was not available. After getting settled, I really enjoyed the room and area. Bed was good. Shower was good. A blind was bent badly, and when I tried to close it, it snapped. I needed the privacy. I would stay there again, not that I understand getting in.
I have mixed feelings about my stay. On the one hand, the property was as described and fit what I needed. It's small, but cozy. I didn't mind that at all! I understood that right upfront and the owner messaged me to confirm it before booking. She was very communicative via Vrbo. However, there were other issues all the way through. The owner would not provide me with an address. I found that odd. I had a 4 1/2 - 5 hour drive and I was told that I would not get that information until an hour before check-in (at 2:00pm). I was literally begging for the address. I was seriously beginning to wonder if it was a scam. (This was my first time using Vrbo.) She finally sent me the address the day of my trip after I messaged her again saying that I would not arrive before the 3pm check in. Secondly, parking was a challenge. If you rent this property, there are things you need to know BEFORE you get to the island and the owner is only going to provide the basics. Because I haven't been to Tybee in awhile I wasn't aware of the new parking measures. Do yourself a favor and do your own research. Here's a link that explains it: https://tybeeisland.com/tybee-information/tybee-parking-information/. I wish I had known this beforehand. It would have saved me a lot of time, trouble and stress. Apparently if you are a college student who Ubers and can afford the rate per night stay in a tiny room, this is perfect for you. Otherwise, pay the extra for a place that provides parking. In summation, the rental was what it was advertised to be and except for a couple of minute housekeeping items, I'd give it a solid 4. To avoid any parking confusion or debacles, do the research on your own to find out how to pay and park so that you don't stress about it. The owner was great about responding to messages through the Vrbo site. No problems there. Lastly, if you're stressing about the address because you are making a road trip, hire a private investigator to get it because the owner is not going to give you the address until she's good and ready.
