Communication with Jimmy was great right from the start. He answered my pre-booking questions quickly and his instructions for check in and out are very clear. The apartment is very spacious and clean. The deck is nice for lounging. Plenty of parking for our 18â boat, two refrigerators, tons of bath and beach towels, beach chairs, bed was very comfortable, kitchen is well stocked and the sofas and TV are new from the pictures. Crab Shack restaurant has yummy food and drinks plus you can meet the locals. Jimmy mentioned the kitchen is being renovated this fall which will make the place perfect. We would definitely rent here again,
Wonderful location. Nice and clean. Comfortable bed and sheets. Nice to have two sofas and so many Channel options on the TV as well as Netflix and Amazon prime. Nice back porch with view of the river. Very responsive and friendly host. Good kitchen. Also nice to have two bathrooms. Owner plans to make some needed cosmetic updates to the bathroom. But it was perfectly adequate. Would definitely go back again!
The Pelican Condo was a perfect getaway - close to the beach as well as downtown Savanah! And the condo had everything we needed to just relax. Weâll definitely be back!
The location is great for both trips into Savannah and other area islands. Tybee beaches are a short drive away but be prepared to pay for parking everywhere on Tybee. We had lots of downtime and really enjoyed the covered deck and watching the birds on Chimney Creek.
We enjoyed our stay at the Pelican. The condo is exactly as pictured, there were no surprises. I imagine as the condo is updated the rates will go up. The host was quick to respond to my questions.
When we were not Pirating, I spent most of my time on the balcony enjoying the view! If you kayak this is the perfect place to do so.
I apologize to the owner for taking so long to post a review. He was definitely a great host. Loved watching the tide go in and out of the creek. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the pet hair. He posts that they accepts pets, so it could be more of a "me" problem, but I did have to clean the hair off the seating areas. We would stay there again. Thanks!
Half the reason for staying on the water is to use the outdoors. However, the âdockâ was destroyed and not mentioned, the grill was filthy, the porch has a nice view but all the furniture needs replacing as these were beyond disgusting. Dead bugs inside bathroom floor clearly took everything for us to finish our stay.
Place could be a nice property but needs lots of attention.
We did not stay. When we first arrived, the apartment was not clean. There were food crumbs on the floor, etc. There were several trash items under the bed and dead roaches on the floor
There was a musty smell, rundown furniture, and no toilet paper when we arrived.
Worst of all, there was no disclosure that it was Orange Crush weekend. It was like a Police State. There was no way that we could get on and off the island to visit Savannah.
We thought that Jimmy should refund part of our money since we did not stay there. He refused.
Clean, relaxing place to stay. I fished from the dock and also watched the shore birds hunting for crabs as the tide went out. I would stay here again.
This was a perfect place for us to get away for a quiet change of pace. Tybee Island is for the most part still old Georgia, and the cottage is no different. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. For us, it was great, and we would stay there again.
We have an amazing stay at Pelican Condo everything you need is available - location is great for Tybee and Savannah. We spent every morning on the veranda drinking coffee and watching the birds and taking in the great views. The bed was so comfortablr ane everything was clean. The host was also very helpful - Canât wait to come back. Thank you for a lovely holiday đ
Welcome to Tybee Island! I am a proud native Savannah-ian! Savannah and Tybee Island have grown and changed a lot over the years, all for the better! When I was a kid, they called this Savannah Beach! When my mom was younger, they held dances on the pavilion, which has since burned and has now been replaced by the Tybee Pier and Pavilion. Savannah was established in 1733, so there is much history to be found in our beautiful downtown too! I am continuing the family tradition with my wife and two sons (8 and 17 months) by ensuring they enjoy the benefits of coastal living too. The photo of me and my son were taken on the Back River at Tybee.
We purchased this property as a second home and investment property in 2004. We began renting the Tybee Island Pelican Drive house last year (2013) with great success and have expanded that to both downstairs units this year. This house is used by our family, and we enjoy it quite a bit. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
The Pelican house is true Tybee living at its best. The house is backed by Chimney Creek, a tidal creek. The creek has six feet of water at high tide and goes completely dry at low tide, exhibiting the extreme tide changes that we experience at Tybee. You can fish and crab out of your back door or just enjoy the sun on the secluded floating dock. Out of the front door, you have the beautiful marsh and coastal winds 24 hours a day.
