Charming house right on the Hood Canal with your own shell and rock-filled beach. Has all the comforts you need. Small local grocery store just up the road with all the basics. Great launch point for adventures. We enjoyed:
- Rialto Beach (2 1/2 hour drive) with a stop at Lake Crescent in Olympic National Park along the way
- Kayaking with Hood Canal Adventures (45 minutes away)
- Bremerton ferry (45 minutes away) to Seattle
- Lake Lena hike (30 minutes away)
- Rocky Brook Falls (30 minutes away)
- Hama Hama (10-15 minutes away) for great fresh ousters and clams
Lots of outdoor space to relax and eat, including a great firepit. Ages 10, 20, and mid-late 40s in our group and we all loved it! Although we didnât use them, always a bonus to have a grill and crockpot available!
We were so happy with our stay at this house. Julia was very hospitable and had great communication before and during our trip. Once we got there, everything was very clean and comfortable. The view from the house was amazing! The beach was great for our kids to play on and they loved wading/swimming in the water. We hiked at the nearby Staircase Rapids Loop Trail and loved the scenery at Lake Cushman. The food and ice cream in Hoodsport were fantastic, and we loved all the food truck options in Shelton. We also visited the Skyline Drive-in theater. This place really is a gem, with fun and relaxation to be had at the house and adventures to be had nearby.
Such a great experience! The property is so unique and well decorated, right on the beach. The kitchen is up to date and has everything you need to cook. Check in was seamless and Julia is super responsive.
Public beaches for fishing/clamming and the Hama Hama oyster farm just a short drive away as well!
Absolutely no complaints whatsoever.
What a great place to relax!!! So beautifully decorated and very clean! We shared the house with another couple and the space was perfect! 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms. The kitchen was beautiful and had everything we needed for our stay! Being right on the water was spectacular. The view was breathtaking. We had an almost full moon one night while we enjoyed a outdoor fire and a glass of wine. The fog came in the next day but we still enjoyed the peacefulness.......watching all the birds and sea otters was so much fun. Kathy, the owner, was awesome and so fun hearing her talk about the history of the house. She was very concerned that everything was perfect for us! AND IT WAS!
We will be back! Thank you Kathy
The photos are good, but the property is even better than depicted! The location right on the water is perfect. The tides coming up and going out were so cool - my kids loved searching for crabs and collecting shells. The water was comfortable too - we launched our kayaks daily - sometimes from the base of the deck stairs as the tide was so high. We enjoyed watching the critters and birds - thereâs even an Eagles nest in a nearby tree (& the binoculars on site were a fab addition). Kitchen was spacious and well equipped - and showers were good w good water pressure. The most amazing part is the view though. Windows open, listening to the lapping waves. Very relaxing! Ideal location - although the street noise was a bit much when we were outside around the firepit. We will certainly be back!
What an adorable home with tons of charm. Super sweet story behind it!!! â€ïž
I wonât spill it so you have to read the book upon check-in. The views are stunning, the beds are VERY comfy (always something I worry about/look for in reviews) and the decor is lovely. Great place!!
Pictures don't do this property justice. Absolutely amazing location on the water, all the modern comforts of home inside, spotlessly clean. Watched sea otters and eagles on the deck, listened to the water at night, easy drive to park trails for unrivaled views of nature. Will definitely return!
The house was great, and newly remodeled. We loved being on the water! It was clearly an older home, and the old charm was still there even if it was updated throughout. We cooked a couple of meals, and the kitchen was well equipped with what we needed.
The only drawback was the noise from the road. Yes, to get water property in Hoodsport you will be right on 101. The driveway is also a challenge, but we made it!
This house is newly remodeled. Fabulous view. Comfortable beds with two baths. Nice open floor plan with a homie feeling. Fire pit with plenty of chairs. Only negative is the parking. Driveway is steep and street parking is scary but no issues when parked on the street. Host is prompt on responding to questions. Coffee and tea available for use. Would definitely recommend this home.
It was a great weekend getaway from Seattle. A ferry ride and an hourâs drive got us to this newly renovated house on the hood canal with water views from every room. Huge kitchen with all the necessities for cooking. Backyard is the tidal land and high tide brings water to the property wall. It was amazing to relax on the patio which is over the water. We loved our stay and will return this summer for more weekends.
Wonderful getaway cottage that hovers right over the water's edge. Clean, bright. Newly renovated. Will definitely spread the word about this great place to get away from it all.
