Host was very reliable with communication, answering questions quickly before I even arrived at the location! The location is only a 3-5 minute walk to the Glendale Galleria and the place looked like it was professionally cleaned. The only downside is parking- which is tight if you have a car larger than a sedan. I ended up parking on the street a few times and that worked out just fine. Great community of neighbors in the complex and was a peaceful and safe stay!
I stayed at this lovely property for three months while on a short-term job assignment at DreamWorks. It was super conveniently located, only a 7 minute drive from the studio. You can also walk (about five minutes) to a huge Galleria mall, and are about a 10 minute walk from the Americana mall. The neighborhood is safe for a single woman, and I had no problems walking around during the day to go and grab food or coffee from a local shop. I spent quite a few hours working remotely at the local Barnes and Noble, which is amazing to have within walking distance. The apartment itself is the perfect size for one person. Itâs cozy, especially the bathroom, but all the fixtures and kitchen appliances are nice and updated. The balcony space off of the kitchen was perfect for sitting with a cup of tea and watching the sunset every night over the hills of Griffith Park. This apartment is on the second floor of the building, and gets direct natural light pretty much all hours of the day, thanks to the windows on opposing sides of the apartment. The back windows also have an unobstructed view, which means you donât have neighbors looking directly into your kitchen (huge plus in LA). The parking was too tight for me (a not-skilled parker) to fit my Honda CRV into, so I just utilized the street parking. This was a bit tricky sometimes, since the street spots fill up fast, but once I got into the routine of it, I didnât mind.Overall, this apartment worked perfectly, highly recommend!
Very poor service and communication! No hangers [had to go out for hangers]...washing machine malfunction, could not complete loud washing cycle until after midnight!
Several calls to host who was not available, ( spoke with husband on 2 occasions), husband not helpful AT ALL, he tells me hangers were taken by last guest, and machine was working with last guest! No help!!
Had to wash everything I used in kitchen!
Hair in bed!
Dirty or soiled utensils, spice rack(didn't bother to touch those, yuk!)
Washing machine also soiled.
Finally received text from host late in the evening from host stating since I'm only there two nights did she need to bother bringing hangers the next day! Unacceptable!
Tiny bathroom with odd 'sewer gas' smell.
Tiny balcony over parking garage. So close to neighbors, normal conversations can be heard.
The yard is dusty and gravel covered, as is the 'bar' area in the 'yard'. Not usable.
Also very close to neighbors, normal conversations can be heard.
Rug a tripping hazard!
Deeply disappointed!
Paid for housekeeping (not clean)
Paid for insurance, no one available to speak with, no way leave message on alleged 24/7 service!
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a month. We were able to work remotely from here the whole time. The unit had everything we needed and is great for a young couple that is okay being in a cozier unit together. The location was amazing - very walkable to so many restaurants, two malls, etc. We were nervous about parking because Iâm not the best at parking - the designated spot was definitely tight but doable. I ended up parking on the street most of the time with no issues! Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would come again
We really enjoyed our stay. These are old apartments and the unit has been completely refurbished and is in great condition. The owners are great - I had one glitch (my fault) and one call solved everything. I did not give the unit a five star rating only because it is very small and frankly tall or large people should know there might be some challenges in this unit. The owners have done everything possible to address any and all issues, but the square footage of some areas are just too tight.
PROS:
- Very clean.
- Great location - easy walk to downtown to mall and restaurants. Also, an easy drive to The Huntington.
- Kitchen is nicely remodeled with very nice appliances and a nice breakfast bar. There is a nice little patio that we did not use.
- All rooms have been remodeled.
CONS, especially for large people:
- The bathroom is nicely updated, but, as mentioned, very small. Some people may find it hard to sit down. A soap dish in the shower would be nice.
- The clothes closet is tiny. We were attending a wedding and hanging up all clothes for a couple of evening events was pretty tight.
- The bed was okay, but its a wall bed that can't be moved, so one side is very close to the wall, which caused some gymnastics for this 68 year old.
- It's great that there is parking, but the parking spot is awkward and very tight. We had an intermediate car - I wouldn't want anything larger.
I had a very nice stay. The pictures were an accurate representation of the property, and the host was thorough in her communication. I found the apartment with no issues, as well as the parking space. The site was clean and the location was very convenient. I highly recommend this space!
First let me say the apartment is very clean, stylish, and beautiful. Really cool use of an old apartment complex.
It is very, very small. My husband is a big guy. The bed is
extremely uncomfortable, and bathroom is very, very tiny. It is almost impossible to use the parking spot that is assigned to the apartment. The street parking is difficult to acquire. We were driving a 4Runner.
We ended up leaving before the first night. Stayed in hotel.
Anyone under 5'10" and drive a Mini Cooper would love this place.
Our stay in Graceland met all of our needs. It was clean, quiet, and within walking distance of many restaurants, shopping, and most importantly our sonâs apartment.
Also Samantha was great. She was responsive to any questions we had!
We will definitely use this space again in return visits.
I am marketing executive - always on the go. Not only am I continually on the road for my company, but given any free time I love to travel to areas well off the beaten path. When I'm away I put my studio on VRBO so others can enjoy it as much as I do.
Highly walkable! Stay at Graceland and enjoy free off-street parking, walk 2 blocks to the center of Glendale. Easy access to nearby Downtown LA, Atwater Village, Silver Lake and Hollywood.
