Peaceful getaway

We stayed here for 12 days. Very peaceful and relaxing. The guys fishing from the dock was fun. Nice surprise with the pool (not that we used it) being it wasn’t part of the deal when I reserved back in March 2019. Nice walk to the beach. Had a day where we bought bus tickets and went up into Clearwater for part of the day and took it back to go down the other end just to see what there was. Got off for lunch and took the bus back to the area we’re we was staying. Lots of Publix grocery stores to go for food. Beautiful Indian Rocks Beach area.

Great location!

We had the perfect stay! The shared pool area could pose a challenge as 2 houses share the pool and are extremely close to each other. Luckily, they were not partiers nor were we. They checked out Sunday morning which gave us the pool to ourselves for the day to grill out and have family over. The only thing that would have made it better is a couple of paddle boards or kayaks on the property to utilize.

Pros and Cons

First impression for us was checking in at 4pm to an absolutely filthy VRBO. Sadly the prior guests didn't follow the clean up rules, nor did the cleaning people show up. Tough to recover from, however let me give you the pros/cons of the actual property: PROS - Great location right on the water. Loved drinking coffee with the Blue Herons. Walking distance to beach and some shops. Pictures nicely depict house, although its smaller than expected overall. You have to walk through one bedroom to get to another. Great kitchen space! Linens and beach towels supplied. CONS - As it's mentioned, you do share the pool which isn't great IMO. We were six women traveling for a girls weekend sharing a pool with a family with small children. Not ideal! Few beach chairs available and very rusty. Two bedrooms with king beds are great, the third bedroom has a trundle (so you need someone under 5' sleeping on this) and the final mattress is on the floor. Tough to say it sleeps 6. Final note, renting a VRBO through a property manager versus the actual owner gives a very different experience. IMO, owners care far more about your satisfaction, and it's tough to get a contact person from a management company. We lost valuable vacation time chasing down our "ground contact".

Sweet little place right on the water

Place was well appointed with great kitchen amenities. Due to allergies we asked that the place be cleaned without fragrances and chemicals. The mgmt was super accommodating. The view out the living room was fabulous. Loved the sunrises and birds

Two weeks in January

The location was excellent. The back patio was right on the water and it was a short walk to the beach. On several mornings we saw dolphins at the dock and there are pelicans and cranes playing all day long. It's an older house with quirks and character that is well provisioned and the staff was very responsive to email or texts. There was a mixup on instructions regarding the trash cycle days but the maintenance crew was there checking on the pool and property a couple of times and took it away with them so that worked out. There were people in the front house a couple of times but there was great privacy on our patio. The property accommodated multiple people very well.

Relaxing on the water!

Loved watching the birds and had a dolphin come visit. Caught a few interesting fish off the dock too! Easy walk to the beach too!

Perfect Weekend getaway!

This home was perfect for our bachelorette weekend away from Oklahoma. We comfortably slept 5 adults. Beds were very comfortable, home was clean, and we especially appreciated the labels on everything. The view was so wonderful and we saw four dolphins in the bay that is directly behind the home. Would highly recommend staying here whether you’re a family or a crew of friends. Pool was nice but we went to the beach both days. Loved the beach towels, umbrella, and chairs available. Also recommend renting cabanas from IRB chair rentals.

Great Place!

Great location for fishing and hanging out at the beach. (Fishing poles provided.) Very cute decor with fresh clean bedding and towels! Beds were comfortable as well. The kitchen was stocked with all pots, dishes, and silverware needed to prepare meals. Management was super helpful and responsive during our trip. The pool was really nice to have on the property. Overall, we had a really nice time at Oceans Away and would definitely stay again!

Amazing Home and Owners

The house was well laid out with everything you would need in the kitchen. We needed a couple of chairs for the beach since we flew in, the owners had them and a new umbrella waiting when we arrived. Our flight was cancelled the owners was amazing to work with on the late check out and extra day. The dock for fishing was nice, beds was comfortable, pool was clean and an added bonus. Short walk to the beach. Already making plans to return next year and rent the other house beside of it as well.

Great place to stay!!

This was a wonderful house to stay in. Our family spent the week here for spring break. We would definitely stay here again! The house was very clean! It had plenty of room for the four of us. It had plenty of towels, blankets, pillows, and kitchen supplies. We loved that it sat right on the channel. My son enjoyed fishing out back everyday. The pool was really nice and clean. Was also a fairly short walk to the beach! Highly recommend this house!!

Great place!

We loved our stay at ocean away! We had three couples stay and found the space to be clean and accommodating. The only weird thing is that the third bedroom, with the trundle, has to walk through the second bedroom to get to the rest of the house. Location was wonderful- easy to find, beautiful morning views on the water, and close walk to the beach. Also really convenient to get to Clearwater or any grocery stores. We thought the shared pool would be weird, but it was no problem at all. I think the only true complaint we had was that the water pressure was not great. We had a little issue with a shower overflowing after a big rain, but the property manager was quick to respond to us and come out to take care of it. Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely go back!

Owner was very pleasant! Place was great!

Over the stay was amazing! The pool was great and the kids really loved it! The intercostal fishing was to die for. Caught tons of fish off the dock. The only complaint would be the property management company wasn’t responsive at all. And the temp of the house was locked to not go below 72 on the AC. But the issues were made up by the responsiveness of the owner. We would definitely come back.

Wedding weekend

Stayed at the house with another couple to celebrate a friend’s wedding. Nice central location. Easy access to the beach and surrounding sightseeing. Had all of the kitchen amenities you could need. We used the pool one day and the other house used it the second day because of social distancing & Covid concerns but that worked out fine and everyone discussed it.

great house and enjoyed the location

The house was so nice, location was good too. Could walk to beach but just a tad further than we thought. Not terrible by any means. owner was really nice and appreciated talking with him. Only suggestion, and minor as it is, would be to provide a little more amenities like cooking utensils, pans and other items that are tough to go without. Thanks so much for helping make our vacation great! we would definitely stay here again.

Fun family vaca

First the positives: very short walk to the beach, the bay right in the back and 10 minutes from Clearwater. Clean. Plenty of room with 3 king beds and twin bed with trundle (and couch). The negatives: the pool is shared with the other house on the property which is kind of weird and with covid I wasn’t really expecting that to be the case. the house thermometer won’t go below 72 which for us was a huge deal when it’s 80-90 outside. It’s literally set you can’t get it any cooler. The pool is perfect but also a sign outside you aren’t suppose to swim after 8pm. Just felt like you’re being so policed during your vacation. Fees were listed everywhere if you do this or that. No fishing poles, we bought our own and luckily had means to get them back home. Also nothing for the beach (chairs, cooler) when flying it makes it hard to bring all of that. We stayed in Indian rocks last year and the house had was equipped with all of that plus a golf cart which was nice. Overall nice house and great vacation but I just feel some of these details should be said up front.

Excellent Location

Well equipped kitchen, super comfy beds, super location and view of the inlet waters, super close to beach access and restaurants. We walked short distances all within 5 minutes.

Amazing Sunrise Views

This place is super clean! The beds are all very comfortable and the back patio space is great for grilling. The house is only a 5min or less walk to the beach.

Brothers Weekend

Great rental! Just as pictured and included all amenities needed to feel at home for an extended stay. We really enjoyed having the dock for my 22 ft boat and grilling out on the back porch near the sea wall. Would recommend this unit!
