Awesome stay. Peaceful and relaxing. Great location. House is close to everything. Asheville, Biltmore, hiking, waterfalls, Blue Ridge Parkway. Would definitely stay here again.
Overall the place was great. Previous house guests did not abide by laws, so the smell was left for us. One issue with downstairs air but was fixed by the time we were back to the house.
Nice surroundings in the woods. Really needed to have some deep cleaning done. And repairs done. Also could use a water filtering system to eliminate sediment. Property owner who we met was very nice.
This little house was perfect for my family (2 adults, 2 children). The property is in a nice and quiet locatIon. We met some of the neighbors who were just wonderful! My children, especially my son, enjoyed the setting and the creek in the front yard. We had some turkeys visit one afternoon and enjoyed watch them peck around the yard. This is a location we would love to return to someday.
Our stay at this mountain VRBO was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we arrived, we felt at peace with the surrounding beauty of nature. The house itself was cozy yet spacious, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The highlight of our trip was definitely the fire pit, enjoying the crisp mountain air and gazing at the starlit sky. It was the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. The location of the house was ideal, nestled in a quiet area with a serene mountain stream nearby. The sound of the water gently flowing through the rocks was incredibly peaceful, providing a calming background throughout our stay. We spent hours just sitting by the stream, soaking in the natural beauty and enjoying the tranquility. One of the unexpected joys was the farming community that surrounded us. The locals were incredibly friendly, always ready with a smile and a story about the area. It was a wonderful experience that gave us a real sense of the areaâs charm and authenticity.Overall, our stay was a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. The combination of a beautiful home, breathtaking scenery, and a warm, welcoming community made this trip one to remember. We canât wait to return!
I had a wonderful stay for a long weekend away with my sister. This was the perfect place for us. Loved the location! Close enough to Asheville to drive for food or shopping. Also good for a day trip to Cherokee. Really enjoyed sitting on the porch and deck and listening to the sound of the stream down the hill. Was very private but not totally secluded. Would definitely visit again.
Quiet and clean, easy check in, was able to do both nature things and city things. Firepit and grill were put to good use. Started most mornings with breakfast/coffee on the top deck. Groceries ~15minutes away. Able to have the Olympics on in the background as we hung out at the property.
The location was perfect for our trip. The area was quiet and peaceful, and we got to see wild turkeys! We went to Asheville and Mt Mitchell and came back to a comfortable cabin. The firewood was well seasoned, and our questions were quickly answered. The cabin wasn't booked the day we left so we were allowed a late check out, which was greatly appreciated. I would definitely recommend this property and can see myself going back again.
Beautiful and serene. Nothing is far from this place, but it is quiet and secluded with a creek flowing Iâm front of the property adding ambiance. Morning sunrise views are spectacular. Wi-Fi was good. Kitchen had all necessary pots, pans, dishes and silverware. This is true country living with some modern updates! Will return!
The property was large, with plenty of woods to explore if that's your thing. Fire pit is great and the rocking chairs and porch swings made for a great beginning and ending of our day. The beds were very comfortable and there is WiFi. You'll need it if you need any communication because cell service is slim to none. But that's the part I enjoyed the most. We will definitely be back!
This property was roomy and had plenty of space available if we wanted to have the rest of the family out for dinner and a visit. Comfortable and cozy. Dining table is a classic old farm house-large and sturdy. Bathrooms and bedrooms were a nice size. Bed was comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. Mornings were below 30 and the heaters provided kept us warm and comfortable. We didnât even use them all. If we are back in the area we would consider this again.
We stayed here three nights for a quick spring break trip to Asheville. The house is about thirty minutes from Asheville. It was a great place to stay. Communication was excellent. The WiFi was a great connection. The game room is in a detached garage. If you are staying and spending a lot of time at the house there is a lot to keep you entertained. The master room is a great setup for families with a separate bed area but some privacy from the master bedroom. Overall I would recommend and stay here again.
This is a very quaint house. Itâs a perfect place to get away and have peace and quiet. This is not luxury by any means but it was well worth what we paid for. There were 6 of us. Two of us old folks found it hard to climb the stairs to the bedrooms but the rest of our crew had no problems. I LOVED the porch swing upstairs and the grandkids loved playing corn hole on 2nd floor wrap around porch. The only issue we had were the upstairs TV wouldnât come on and the trash can was overflowing outside. We didnât use the game room but it looked great.
This place we was perfect to get away from this busy life so much trees and we were in the woods big area with fireplace and grill. What an amazing experience I recommend this place to everyone. This place has lots of plates utensils things for cooking. A big table for a family. Lots of blankets pillows and towels. Sofa bed and three other beds to sleep in so much space we had such a great time. Located close to hiking trails like Chimney rock and Jump off rock my two favorite trail. Zip and Slip tubing and Arboretum and more. Communication was great I was a bit annoying texting about everything but owner did a great job at always responding at a timely manner. Homes was clean and organized. Thank you for an awesome experience.
The area was beautiful, creek running through front of property. Large yard, Porch and balcony with lots of seating options, including a porch swing. Inside was spacious downstair, main bedroom large, but 2nd bedroom small and beds were lumpy and hard. However...fire places don't work, couple of space heaters were the only heat, except in main bed had a window unit for air & heat. Bathrooms were freezing. There were spider webs and all kinds of spiders every where! Game tables advertised in garage are all in bad shape & missing parts to play. Over all we would not stay here again.
The house was spacious and well stocked. Other reviews state that there were only a couple space heaters available. This is outdated information, the home had baseboard style heaters throughout. I brought a heated blanket with us and never even had to unpack it despite temps dipping into the 20s overnight. Everything was clean, linens freshly washed, plenty of towels, toiletries, etc. The bed in the 2nd bedroom is very firm, so be aware of that. The yard is large, so despite being able to see neighboring homes, it felt very private. Our kids loved the firepit, tire swing, air hockey table, and creek. Having laundry access was a big plus! The drive to Asheville is short and scenic, the proximity to Pisgah National Park was great. Any of the complaints I read in previous reviews that made me a bit nervous were totally absent during our stay. If I am ever in the area in the future, I would choose this property again.
The setting was beautiful and the grandkids enjoyed chasing fireflies and cooking sâmores. The first floor of the house smelled like cigarette smoke. I called the property manager on Monday evening and requested a few items like hand soap for the bathroom a d some extra toilet paper. She said she had a family member having surgery the next morning and would deliver them Tuesday evening. She did not bring the items and did not contact me until Thursday night. If she had just texted, I would have understood, but I heard nothing for 3 days. I feel like she could have handled the situation better.
The good: the location was great. Very close to Asheville. Very quiet and close to the highway to get to hiking. The air conditioner in the living room worked great! The wifi covered the entire house well. The upstairs bathroom looked newly renovated. The mattresses were comfortable.
The bad: the ac in the master bedroom is a window unit that barely worked. The ac unit in the 2nd bedroom was a window unit that worked well but was so loud it woke me up every time it came on. The appliances, dishes, pots and pans were old and very well used and several were not clean. I spent the first night cleaning everything by hand.
The ugly: the entire place needed a deep cleaning. While some surfaces seemed clean (microwave and counters), as we used the house we saw how dirty it was. Walking the floor the first day barefoot led to black bottoms on our feet. There was food stuck on a pot and cookie sheet and a dried elbow noodle on the dining room table. The dishwasher wasn't bolted into the wall and tipped every time we opened it. The listing advertises a game room with ping pong, Foosball, and air hockey. It's in the garage that is covered with dirt and spider webs. Several ping pong balls were abandoned bc the spiders claimed them.
Overall, the bad and ugly did not ruin our stay. The location and peace and quiet more than made up for it. Would we stay there again? Not unless it was deep cleaned and the ac units were replaced.
Lovely mountainside home with all the extras we needed. The drive to Asheville was 20 minutes or so. Good restaurants and galleries in downtown Asheville. So sad for the destruction in town after Hurricane Helene. We got out ahead of the storm. This is a very nice property and Stephen, the owner is responsive and helpful. Would stay there again.
When I arrived to the property it was completely dark, no lights were on outside. When we entered the property it had some funky smell, we weren't ablento watch anything in the tv.
