Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location of the property was pretty good with beautiful view of the beach. Road in front busy and loud at times. Unit has been better days but was roomy and comfortable. Considering the $260 cleaning fee we paid, the cleaning did not come up to scratch with dirty mats thrown in corner, dead pot plant on balcony, coffee stained coffee cups, gritty, foot marked balcony floor. Hard to find parking only found it because Sandcastle manager being there to show us where to go. Elders only gave us half the parking instructions. Manager told us they have been asking Elders to give full information for 19 years still are not doing it.

Such a beautiful apartment with a great view! Great location too!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed our stay at Sandcastles. This apartment is so huge and for two people it was massive. My mother and I really enjoyed our stay. The view is amazing looking out over Town Beach and the ocean beyond! I enjoyed sitting on the balcony and having a cuppa or a drink. The beds are super comfortable, We had great night's sleep! The only suggestions I have is if you could supply tea and coffee and condiments like oil, salt and pepper some tomato sauce would be good as you pay enough to stay.

Amazing views, HUGE apartment

It had everything we needed including a large garage which was great for unpacking our stuff.We had a great view from our main bedroom and lounge/dining area. It would be ideal for families as it has a separate TV room out the back near the other 2 bedrooms. Spa bath was nice too.

Great property and location but honestly please replace the double bed it’s disgusting you can actually feel the springs and it smells, the property could do with a freshen up, the carpets old and smelly and the bedding is the same, please freshen it up a bit.

Great View and That's All

The pros are, the unit is spacious and has great views from both balconies and the staff at Elders provided a seamless check-in process with all the required info available. The cons are, the unit is poorly maintained and equipped. Being located on a main road the eastern balcony, bedroom, and living areas are subjected to significant road noise. You'll need to take everything you need as not even the basics are supplied. No salt, pepper, sugar, etc. You will also need to factor in the cost and hassle of hiring linen the making beds on arrival.

The view from the unit is beautiful. We have been coming to this unit for a number of years now (over 10 years). Unfortunately the furniture on the balcony has not been updated in all of these years, and every year we come the rust on the chairs is worse. You can not sit on the chairs. We have previously stained out towels with the rust from the chairs. We ended up buying 5 plastic chairs, so we could actually enjoy sitting on the balcony. We have left the chairs there, so that others can enjoy. Also when we arrived, there was only 1/3 of a roll of toilet paper (for 5 people).

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Excellent apartment and location. There should have been extra toilet paper, salt, pepper, sugar and tea and coffee. The balconies could have been a lot cleaner.The double bed mattress needs to be replaced it is way past its use by date. You can feel every spring in the mattress.Also we received no details how to access the property and had to ring the after hours number. There should be information provided when you book the property that you need to provide sheets, towels and tea towels.

Pleasantly Surprised

Reviewer Comments: I was very annoyed originally, "NOT" with Elders but with the landlord of this unit, after being made to re book and had to take up 2 more nights which was not in the budget. We were not able to make to make our original date due to flooding and unable to physically make it there due to road closures. The situation was completely out of our control. The owners should have been more understanding and do the right thing and refunded instead of forcing people to either take a financial hit either via Cancellation or via being forced increase their stay. The unit itself was clean and comfortable, in a good location.

Crappy property in a great location

We were really looking forward to staying at this property for the Ironman as it looked great online. Sadly it was not a great stay. We arrived to a tired and dirty looking property, with broken lamps, lumpy old mattresses, artwork lying on the floor, thread bare towels, and faded thin bedding. The kitchen had lots of crockery but lacked the basics for cooking a simple meal. The property had been cleaned, but it certainly did not look or feel that way. The outdoor areas were covered in dirt and the kitchen and bathrooms were not cleaned to a good standard. After arriving to the unkempt unit we decided to head out and enjoy the beach as the unit is in a great location. When we retuned after hours at the beach we discovered we had no hot water. It took three days for the hot water to be restored. It’s taken months for me to hear back from the property managers at Elders to learn that the property owners will not be compensating us for the lack of hot water or the filthy state in which we found the place. We paid the same as other friends who stayed in the same building but the units they stayed in were clean and fitted out like a hotel room. Their units also included internet where this unit does not. My advice is to stay at the Sandcastle Apartments it NOT this unit. There are so many others available to rent.
