We had a wonderful time here. Mike and Sue were the best hosts. The home is older but very charming. A railroad crossing is close by. Absolutely beautiful area to stay, with amazing yard including large fire pit and clean creek. Would love to come back.
The home is beautiful! The stream outside put us to sleep each night; it was so peaceful! The check in and out was so simple. Inside the rooms were spacious and comfortable. We were a group of 4 and really enjoyed our stay! Highly recommend!
The pictures and description do not adequately do justice for the beauty and tranquility of this property. It is very spacious and clean. The landscaping is immaculate. There is plenty of outdoor seating and indoor space. The kids loved playing board games when it rained and splashing in the creek when the sun was out. Easy to reach by car, plenty of parking. The hosts were very responsive and gracious.
We enjoyed our stay here by the river. Our bedroom was on the side by the river and we slept with the windows open so we could hear the water. Nice outdoor area with firepit as well. The house is an old farmhouse so has creaky floor and sticky door vibes which adds to the charm. Would have been nice to know that the owners residence is literally next door, really across the driveway since they live in the garage on the property. It was fine but a little surprising that it was so close (and not shown on the pics). Also, there is a train track very close which is very active. If you are hoping for a long night of rest be prepared to hear the train a few times a night. The house is located on a quiet back road so it was easy to take a walk down the road. Overall it was a very nice stay and we would stay here again.
Stayed for a few days visiting family. Enjoyed the views and bubbling creek. Lovely bottle of wine upon arrival was a special treat. Great yard for our dogs. Easy communication with Mike before and during our stay.
Our group of four longtime friends had a fantastic stay at this beautiful creekside home! The house itself was in excellent condition, clean, and well-maintained. The snowy setting on the Yellow Breeches Creek was truly picturesque and peaceful â the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. Despite the serene location, we were only a short drive away from the vibrant restaurant and bar scene in Carlisle, offering the best of both worlds. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a tranquil escape with easy access to local amenities.
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was four adults and one child. We made use of the property by grilling sitting by the fire pit and we also took a run down the creek on inner tubes. The host and hostess are very accommodating. One caveat would be the water pressure is a little low. That just may be the case being that odds are the water is sourced from a well. The other is the freight trains that go by. I want to say they go by sometime between seven and 10 times in a 24 hour period. The trains did not wake me up, but one of the guests was awakened by the train in the middle of the night.I would definitely return here.
