We had a lovely stay. Comfortable well appointed house. Views of the sea and farmland were gorgeous. Cosy with the open fire. Really enjoyed the all day sun. Would definitely book again.
Kia ora! What a beautiful house, was a pleasure to be hosted here. Would be awesome to make it clear in the listing that Linen needs to be brought by guests, or explicitly asked for. There was some confusion there but it all worked out in the end! The views of this house was incredible and the neighbourhood seemed quite lovely.Would come again!
We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely home with spacious decking, pleasant garden and beautiful views. It had everything we needed and is a really peaceful spot for some time away. Thank you!
Totally excellent weekend away in a well appointed bach. Comfy bed and sofa. Shower had good pressure. Kitchen well equipped. Great places to sit outside in shelter or sun. Was good to have several rooms.Definitely wish to return
My husband and I had a fabulous stay at 5 Rata Street for our wedding anniversary weekend. It was a real treat to eat/soak in the views of the beach in the distance and the Tararua Rangers. There were several places on the deck with chairs and table so you could choose where you choose to sit, depending on the sun. The beds are comfortable with great shower water pressure. We also loved the interior decor. We had awesome weather and loved our walks to the beach. The Otaki township is close by so plenty of choice of takeaways. We enjoyed perusing the Otaki markets on our way back home to Porirua. What was funny is that friends have built their new house just around the corner. The owners' communication was regular and any questions I had were answered promptly.Highly recommend
while working in Otaki with Rangatahi this accommodation was a peaceful space with comfort
Apart from the Driveway - I would not recommend Trailers - very steep but awesome once you get to the top to the Homestead
Was amazing - welcoming and a Home not a House
Thank you so much
Had family Christmas at Otaki beach. Bach was great and had everything we needed for Christmas festivities including views of lovely pohutukawa trees. Really enjoyed our stay and appreciated being able to bring some extra family members too!
Absolutely loved this place. The house was lovely an modern an with the beach only a couple of minutes away, it was a perfect get away. Plus side your supermarket was only down the road over all love it
Thank you so much for having our guests. They absolutely loved their stay and we are so thankful for your support of the festival in this way.
Also, so sorry, in all the busyness, I absolutely forgot to mention that our house manager went to clean your house that time you rang and found the lamp was broken, so she put it in the laundry. She thinks it was from whoever stayed before us but because I didn't tell you straight away, I'm happy to put something towards replacing it. Thanks
The property was at the very top of the hill, a very very steep, narrow and sharp turn driveway. It was a lovely property with beautiful views, it had everything you needed and I could imagine staying there in the winter with the fire. In saying that we visited the beginning of summer and it was hot. The house as equipped as it was for the winter, it wasn't so for the summer. It was hot outside, but it was literally a sauna inside. Very muggy and dry. With no air con opening the doors helped to cool things down. Opening the windows provided little relief especially at night. It was the first time staying at a Book a bach so was unsure of a few things. The question I ponder on is "does someone live there every other day except when its booked out" Food in the fridge and cupboard?, shoes in the rooms? and other things, I was unsure what that all meant as we were staying there, could we use them? could we eat it, drink it? When I stay at hotels, motels or the like I like to put my things in the drawers provided, but in this case I didn't because there were very personal items in the drawers. I feel those should have been removed along with the business information sitting in the room I slept in. Like I said it was the first time staying in a book-a-bach. So don't get me wrong this is not negative feedback. I learned a lot and yes I would stay there again. Mark and Shirley are great hosts, answered all my queries quickly and were very accommodating.
The house was nice, and had everything we needed. It was not super clean on arrival, and the hot water ran out on us 2 days in - solved by some experience of gas bottles on my part. Nothing terrible - just not perfect.Wonderful views from the house, and nice sized rooms.Don't attempt the driveway if you have a big car, unless you have nerves of steel.
We had an excellent relaxing 3 night stay. Cosy evenings with the wood fire and lovely sunny days on the big deck. Otaki beach and forks provided just enough temptation for us to adventure out. Lovely gardens and fantastic views make this a beautiful getaway spot. All the facilities and comforts of home. Thx
