There really isnât a view of the ocean unless you want to go to the upstairs bedrooms. And the main window downstairs is fogged over and needs to be replaced. The lighting is not good in all of the rooms. We had to use the flashlight on our phones to see things clearly. The stairs Iâm sure would not pass codes. It needs some real deep cleaning and fixing. We made do, but I wouldnât stay there again.
This home was everything we hoped that it would be! A great location that's steps from the beach, walkable to downtown Seaside (about 15 minutes), and on a quiet street. It's very much a beach home that has great charm. It has everything that you need and is a wonderful place to stay for families. One thing to note for mobile impaired individuals, there is only one shower (on the first floor).
Check in and out was super easy. House access was easy. Side street made for nice parking as well as garage and driveway. The only thing the house has going for it is the location. Even then, with a house that has a view, one of the two windows in the living room is permanently fogged and the front bedroom window is permanently fogged. Windows need to be replaced. The window in the dining room was filthy with little kid handprints. The house smells old and musty - we kept windows and doors open most of the time to air it out. Furniture is stained and actually dirty - not in good shape. Itâs advertised as 4 bedrooms 3 bathrooms but thereâs only one shower - not adequate for 7 adults. One bedroom is an offshoot of another - separated by a curtain. The kitchen was nice. Reviewers have called the place vintage and charming. I think itâs old and tired - not worth the expense. I wouldnât recommend to anyone that asks me.
Location was excellent but very disappointed that the house did not deliver what was listed and in the photos. No fire pit. No picnic table. See photos. Had to beg for forks (there were 4), beach towels (told it wasnât a âbeach propertyâ), dishwasher repair, a frying pan that wasnât warped. Only 3 windows had screens and sills were filthy, and the sole showerâs grout hasnât been repaired for what appears to be 20 years. House is great for a weekend, terrible for our 2 week stay. Major renovations needed. We made do but house is overpriced for its condition.
This house worked perfectly for 7 of us to stay for an extended weekend. The layout of the upstairs was great for my daughter and grandchildren. The views from the front windows were wonderful and the proximity to the beach can't be beat. Street parking was easy. They had every kitchen utensil and machine that we needed (but some of the pans for the stove could use replacing). Most of the bathrooms have tubs, and only one has an actual shower. The beds were comfortable and the rooms weren't too hot or too cold. There was plenty of room to hang out during the day in the living area. We really liked being so close to the beach. We went on walks every day. It was a bit hard getting the whole house ready for checkout by 10 am, especially with needing to take all the bedding off, all the trash out, dishes done, start laundry, etc while trying to get 7 people ready and out the door, but I understand that there were other people checking in that day. I would definitely stay here again.
Tried to check in on time but they wouldnât let us!
First impressions werenât good. I received a message at 10:00 on the date I was going to check in on April 6th saying due to unforeseen circumstances that I would be checking in at 5:00 an hour later. It said housekeeping was working as fast as they could to remedy the situation. They would contact me if I could check in at 4:00. We got to the property early and sat outside of the road weary from our travels and nothing was going on there! I messaged the people at Meredith lodging to ask if it was ready to check in and they said no. My total bill for one night was 461.00 and they wouldnât budge! I was ticked off! The place is charming in a vintage way but not kept up! The furniture is soiled and not good to sit on There is dust and dirt in corners upstairs.
We had a wonderful time this past weekend at this darling home. Great location and very comfortable for our cousins weekend. We loved the large dining table and comfy living room.
Location was perfect loved the quirkiness of the house. Downstairs bathtub didnât have a plug so it was unusable. Internet was spotty wish that was disclosed in listing. But would definitely come back and not try to work đ
We enjoyed meeting up with our daughter and family for a one night stay. Our grandson had a sand soccer tournament that weekend. It was a perfect place to stay and all be under one roof. The house was comfortable and meet all of our needs. We would most definitely stay there again.
The location is perfect!! Close to Divine Grounds or Brew 22 for coffee in the morning. Minutes from Bell Buoy for seafood and walking distance to Osprey Cafe for breakfast. And only like 10 mins from Cannon Beach with everything to do there.
It is an old house which comes with old house features, some good and some not as much. The kitchen is renovated and updated really nicely.
Thereâs an outdoor fire set up in the backyard for cooking/ roasting marshmallows which was fun and the landscaping around the house is beautiful. And lovely views of the ocean.
We loved the boardwalk stay! Definitely a unique house- with its quirks! But we did enjoy it, and loved the view of the beach and short walk with our twins to the beach. The heat gave us trouble, but bundled up it was just fine!
