Our Family of Four (including our two kids, ages 3 and 6) stayed here for a week while visiting with friends and family in the area. It worked out perfectly for us to have a bedroom for each of the kids, one of which had a lower bed, which was great for the 3 year old. Although we did not meet in person, Jim was terrific and highly accessible and responsive. We really appreciated the little touches like laundry detergent, basic kitchen condiments, beach towels, and card games that he provided to make our time there more convenient and enjoyable. Breakfast on the back porch, playing ping pong in the basement, and walking about a block to the Dover Community Trail were some of our favorite activities during our stay. We visited in August and while it did get a little warm, with a little planning the window a/c units worked just fine to keep us all comfortable.
Dover was a nice town with a great bakery (Harvey's) and coffee shop (Flight) that we enjoyed checking out. We also enjoyed visiting the Children's Museum of New Hampshire right in town. The location also provided a good jumping off point to visit Portland, Portsmouth, and the Maine beaches.
We'd definitely come back next time we're looking to stay in the area.
