My husband and I stayed for a week here for an anniversary trip to Alaska. We really enjoyed our accommodations- the cabin sits on a beautiful woodline and moose frequent the area! We had everything we needed while at the Hideaway cabin- our hosts were very kind and communicative and provided valuable information of the surrounding area. We felt that we were also in a good central location to explore other areas, like Seward, Whittier, and Anchorage. Girdwood, in itself, is a beautiful area with a nice brewery close by and lots of beautiful trails around the Alyeska Resort. We felt that we got a true Alaskan experience during our stay here and were glad to support Alaskan natives in their rental business.
Great property!!! Very beautiful landscape. It is an original old fashion cabin that will enhance your Alaskan experience. I LOVED the tub. It wasnât an ordinary experience and for that we were grateful. Only thing Iâd suggest is maybe a newer coffee pot that brews faster. You will love it here!
Loved the location of this small cabin! Close to the town of Girdwood, between Anchorage and Kenai. We had 5 people (2 adults and 3 big kids) and it was a bit small. I would recommend no more than 3/4 as the upstairs double bed was under the a-frame roof so not really enough space for 2 people in the bed. Nonetheless, comfortable and great for our short stay.
Property was as advertised, clean, and had everything we needed for a birthday ski weekend with teens and friends. The hosts are super friendly and responsive. They even maintained communication with me to help me retrieve an item Iâd left behind! We are happy, satisfied guests and would stay again!
Overall, this is a nice cabin in a beautiful setting. The kitchen is very nice. The host was very helpful and friendly, and pointed us to a nice hike in the area. That said, the beds were not the best. The king bed squeaked and its headboard rattled with the slightest movement. I'm not sure what was going on with the mattress pad on the full sized bed, but it was very scratchy and irritating.
Charming Cabin, space to breathe, Fantastic Location
Everything was as described and we found the setting to be relaxing and convenient to all the things we wanted to do. The house is tucked away at the end of a little road and Lynne and her sweet pups were there to greet us when we arrived. The kitchen was well stocked and my only complaint was the kitchen faucet, which was hard to get in just the right position for consistent, hot water. We never use the woodstove, but there was a handy gas heater that was easy to turn on in the evening
We would 100% stay here again!!
I can't begin to tell you how much we enjoyed our accommodations in Girdwood. Pat and Lynne were wonderful hosts. The property was just perfect for myself, the wife and our 10 year old. We utilized it as our home base as we skied Alyeska for 3 days. It's close enough to everything Girdwood has to offer. Everything is just a mile or two away. We arrived to find our cabin ready to go with parking marked and a sign with our name on it, so we knew we had arrived at the right destination. The cabin was warm, cozy and just right for the 3 of us. The host provided a book that had menus from local restaurants, shopping destinations and just a great source of overall information for the area. A really nice touch. I would recommend that you bring your streaming passwords with you as they have a Roku TV that you can sign in to. The WI-FI worked just fine too. I had great communication with Lynne leading up to our arrival and Patrick was on hand to answer any questions the moment we pulled in to park. I most definitely would stay here again. It was so beautiful here during the winter, I can only imagine the how nice it is during summer. The drive in from Anchorage is just gorgeous!
The owner is quite good about communication so we knew all to expect in regard to construction on another unit and the highway work underway. Girdwood is a quaint little town with several very good restaurants. It is conveniently located nicely between Anchorage and Whittier. The cabin is decently appointed and suffices as a short stay vacation cabin. For me with bad knees it would have been nice to know that the steps to that second floor loft is essentially a ladder. You pretty much must leave all of your clothing downstairs as there is no place to keep your clothing upstairs. This is not very private but is set back in the woods with other homes.
Any criticism is outweighed by the location and the care and concern of the owners.
Nice cozy little cabin. Stayed for the night do do some thinking and exploring. The host was very polite and checked in on you to make sure youâre settled in and answer any questions there may be. The kitchen and bathroom was nice and the tap water was well filtered.
It was everything promised and more ! Everything was perfectly set up for a short stay. Very beautiful time to enjoy the snow and we even slipped a hike to the falls.
My grown children and I stayed for a weekend getaway during the holidays. It was just what we needed. Adorable place. Great location. Friendly owners. Plan to book again in the future
We loved our stay here! The owners are really nice and very welcoming and the cabin was beautiful and had modern amenities. The property itself was really nice and well maintained as well. We really appreciated the ownerâs initiative to take our very curious son on a short hike with her dogs behind the property. He had a wonderful time and came back all excited about the blueberries and mushrooms they found. Highly recommend to others.
Clean, cute, and close to everything you need. This cabin backs to the most AMAZING woods that go on forever. Close to town. Easy check in process. Perfect stay. Will definitely return.
Perfect place for a ski weekend. Clean and easily accessible.
Was looking forward to the blueberry cake but it was nowhere to be found :) haha!
But wonderful place!!
Patrick and Lynne' have lived in Girdwood for over 20 years and have been running our business since 2002 and love it. We love meeting people from around the world and showing them our beautiful town and state. we live next door to your cabin and are here to help make your stay everything you want it to be.
We have been welcoming guests to Alyeska Cabin since 2002. This cabin has an open floor plan with a loft that looks down into the living room. The loft has a king and full sized bed. The living room also has a sleeper sofa to accommodate additional guests. The cabin has gas heat but additionally has a wood burning stove which gives it a cozy feeling in the winter. Alyeska Cabin was remodeled in 2018 with a new kitchen and bathroom that features a claw-foot bathtub.
How many people can say they have stayed in a log cabin before? The cabin is fully furnished and has all the comforts of home - linens, towels and everything you need in the kitchen. And YES the cabin has water and indoor plumbing!
