Sarah's Song, as the cabin is named, is a kit cabin of solid wood that is both quaint and clean. The owner is extremely helpful and readily advises on the working aspects of the cabin. The owner lives close by and should you need anything is very helpful. However, if you do not need anything you would not know they are there. We could not be HAPPIER with our visit! We have rented many cabins in the Great Smokies of the Carolina's, and this cabin has by far exceeded our expectations! Are you a student or business person who needs the internet? Have you ever rented a cabin only to sit at McDonald's because the internet is so slow it is moving backwards? The Internet here is so fast I could compare it to my Time Warner service at home. Everything you could need from groceries to reasonable gas prices are extremely close by, within a couple miles.
The cabin is a little cluttered because many other tenants have left some things behind, but the owner does not remove these items as she hopes the next tenant might enjoy them. At first, I was a little worried about the late June heat, but a very kind natural breeze is almost constant most likely from the positioning of the cabin. It is almost as if that was the plan when it was built. The breeze alone makes me want to return to sit on the porch and enjoy the evening air. There is no hot tub for winter use, but we did not care for one.
If you are looking for a very nice place to stay that is located within five minutes of the lake, has a smorgasbord of wonderful sounds and delicate breezes, then you have found a diamond in the rough. It was hard for me to write this because I am not sure I want people to know about it, it might be hard for me to book it when I want it again!
